Nice restaurant near the bridge

Terrific food in a cozy setting. Not many vegan options but clearly labled and very good ones (at least those I tried).
I had an asparagus soup and the pasta caponata, both tasted very fresh, full of flavors and at a generous portion. The veggies in the pasta were very varied and all were cooked perfectly. Friendly service too with a clear English menu.

Finest vegan dining option in the area

In Bad Ischl and the Salzkammergut in general it can be a challenge to find vegan food at all. Weinhaus Attwenger may not offer a lot of vegan options, but they are worth it. The dishes are well thought-out and prepared with care.
This kind of quality expectedly comes at a somewhat higher price point. What I dislike about this place is that the online menu is not always up to date. Additionally, the vegan options are not always clearly labeled - i've seen that this changed within the last 3 years. Sometimes service is a bit slow as they are usually well-booked.
The interior is quite rustic, but cosy. In the summertime you can sit in the garden which is also quite nice.

Pros: Great dishes, Cosy place

Cons: Few vegan options, Vegan options not always clearly labeled

Pros: Viele vegane Speisen , Tolles Ambiente

Cons: Finde keinen

Amazing!!!

We got 2 dishes which are normally made with meat (they put on menu which dishes they can veganise). One made with mushrooms, tomatoes, herbs and pine nuts. The other one was fried gnocchi with lots of vegetables. Both very different and DELICIOUS!!! Each one was 14€. As an entrance they offered a pumpkin soup, and it was really good!!! To drink, they have vegan beverages like Pedacola and Fritz Kola, and a lot of clearly labelled vegan wines!!! The friendly and nice staff knows what vegan means. As said, not so cheap, but also not too expensive. And the place itself is very classical Austrian, but without horns and fur (this is unfortunately so common here!), very cozy ambiance. It was an incredible experience!!! Highly recommended!!!

Pros: Central, lots of options, friendly staff

A star shining in vegan Salzkammergut

As everywhere in austrian countryside it is really hard to get hold of vegan cuisine. Attwenger really outdid themselfs. Every meal is marked if vegetarian or vegan options are available (also if gluten free is a possibility) The staff was super friendly and was not irritated by the wish of a vegan meal (which I encounter a lot). The menu varies each season which I appreciate. The look is typical austrian country chic, so you can take your non-vegan family there and they can have their schnitzel while you enjoy the good stuff. I got a bowl of mushrooms with charred tomatoes. It was sooo good. The menue showed around 6 dishes which can be made vegan.

Everybody else got dessert (all non vegans). The vegan option was sorbets, but it was cold and rainy outside so I choose an espresso with hazelnut liquor. This is the only thing where I wished I had some sort of "warm" dessert to choose from (like cake or custard thing for example).

The prices are okay (it's not cheap, but not expensive either) You can totally eat their for under 20€ if I remember correctly.

Pros: Country chic, outstanding quality of food

Cons: just sorbet as vegan dessert
