Deftiges Essen in tollem großen Außenbereich - Edit

At least some of the staff are vegan 😍 - Edit
Traditional heuriger, good for a large group, great wine garden. Make sure to order from the buffet and check the options of the day. The soya schnitzel is a classic. The vegan liptauer i don’t care for that much, it’s very fatty, but the bread is good and they will tell you when it’s not vegan (sadly Salzstangerl is not 😞)

Awesome - Edit
Very cozy garden, great wine and good vegan selection, also seasonal food like wild garlic. Prices were fair, around 10-15 for vegan food, bottles of wine starting from 20 €

"Heuriger" with vegan options and childrens playground - Edit
"Feuerwehr Wagner" is one of the typical Viennese "Heurigen" Restaurants where you can enjoy young wine, aged wine, grape juice, and other nice drinks.
Read moreThey do have a decent selection of vegan dishes and salads, which are tasty but not necessarily cheap.
What sets them apart is that they have a huge childrens' playground, so if you are looking for a venue for a family outing with small kids, they are very popular
Pros: Many vegan options, huge playground
Cons: prices, parking situation

Bestes veganes Schnitzel in Wien - Edit

Vegan friendly heuriger - Edit
We did the city walk 1 and ended our tour here. Perfect to enjoy fresh grape juice and Sturm wine.
Read moreThe menu is typical local food, but with half of the dishes being vegan we were pleasantly surprised.
We had the vegan pumpkin lasagna and the schnitzel. Luckily we ordered a mixed vegan salad with that because it came without veggies. It was all tasty.
Service was pretty fast. We made a reservation because the place is very big but it was packed.

So good! - Edit
I really enjoyed the staff recommendations, the schnitzel was so yummy and the potato salad was the best. I didn’t like that much the gemüsetascherl because I don’t enjoy eating pumpkin that way but it’s just a personal choice (and it wasn’t my dish hehe).
Read moreWe were a bit confused even if we had a German speaker with us, but you have to go to the counter and just ask for the vegan options, the ones in the seasonal menu are not all of them!

Heuriger with a good range of vegan options - Edit
It's one of the older Heurigen in Grinzing, a place which was traditionally for drinking the local wine and bring your own food. Nowadays, luckily, this one also has a heart for vegans. A good range of vegan options, such as lentil or soy patties, soy Schnitzel and many spreads like the famous Liptauer.
Read moreAlso vegan wine, which is the most important thing at a Heurigen... ;)
Friendly staff, and the prices are ok - remember you are in one of the most expensive districts in Vienna (Grinzing in Döbling)
Pros: Many options, Friendly staff, Good wine

Lovely place, delicious food! - Edit
My partner (omni) and I were desperately looking for a place with traditional Austrian food which caters to everyone's needs so no-one would miss out. We found it. Even though we had to take a longer train ride, we were not disappointed. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, delicious food and many options ( monthly specials). not overrun by tourists. Definitely wot come here again.

Traditional Austrian food - VEGAN ❤️ - Edit
Absolutely loved the place. They serve traditional Austrian food including schnitzel. Both meat and vegan options are available, so the place is very convenient if you have meat eaters and vegans in your company - both can get the taste of traditional food. :)

Incredible - Edit
The food was extraordinary! First I had a vegan mango cucumber chili gazpacho, which was exceptional. As a main I ordered chanterelle goulash with potato dumplings - a delight. Finally I stuffed in my almost bursting stomach some warm apple strudel. I basically rolled out of the nice out door sitting area. It was so worth it though! Go there and try the many traditional Austrian dishes in their veganized versions (they also had vegan Schnitzel on the menu), the creative new dishes, the sides, the apple strudel... Just GO THERE if you want incredibly tasty food for reasonable price., served by incredibly nice staff in a lovely authentic space.

nice option in grinzing - Edit
Okay, so when we arrived at around 7 pm, it was very busy. There were loads of tables outside (really nice and green environment) and there was a buffet where you had to wait in line for some 20 minutes to get your food. We got the wiener schnitzel, the salad and some other vegan meal that they have as a special in June.
Read moreI thought the schnitzel was very thin and I didn't see what could have been in it, the salads were all drenched in vinegar which I don't appreciate, and the other meal was good.
All in all, I thought it was a nice option for when it's not so busy and hectic. It's one of the very few options in the Dobling/Grinzing area, but I wasn't that impressed :)
Pros: affordable, nice environment, vegan options
Cons: very busy, not that many options, meat

a vegan friendly Heuriger actually exists - Edit
"Oh, are you two vegans? The vegans always study the menu very closely!", the lovely barmaid told us, proceeding to list all the vegan options for us. Turns out there are quite a few them, actually. From Schnitzel to Erdäpfelsalat to sweeter delights such as Apfelstrudel, they've got all kinds of traditional Austrian food that is either veganized or just had the non-essential dairy ingredient removed/replaced. As far as I understood, their vegan-friendliness stems from one of their own coworkers being a vegan herself.

great place to try - Edit
I really wanted to go to a Heuriger, but I knew that they were not really vegan-friendly, therefore I was very happy when I found out that actually there was a vegan-friendly Heuriger in Vienna. The place has a very large courtyard, where you can order drinks directly to the waiter, while you have to go inside to order your food at the counter. There are lots of vegan options available. We tried the vegan schnitzel and a quiche and they were both really good. The portions are big and the food is reasonably priced. The place is in the outskirts of Vienna, but you can get there quite easily.
