Good grocery store.

Well, there are plenty of options in the hot bar/buffet, just not for vegans😒It seemed like the salad bar was the only vegan option available. The potatoes had butter and the veggies were swimming in cream. I was sad but I got over it, bought a loaf of delicious fresh bread and some hummus⚡️nice coop with great prices on veggies and hard to find items. I’ll buy groceries here but if I’m in the mood for hot fresh made vegan cuisine, I’ll just go somewhere else.

Pros: Many vegan grocery items, Great vibe, Fresh baked bread

Cons: No hot vegan options

My favorite grocery/hang out!

Weaver Street is the throbbing heart of Carrboro. It is the hangout place for everyone from college-aged hipsters to cute elderly couples to young families. The large outdoor seating area is one of the most popular places to be in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area- it is truly a wonderful atmosphere!

The co-op offers a superb selection of local and organic foods- both produce and processed. Their selection of bulk foods is awesome and everything bulk is very inexpensive. I find plenty of great foods there to sustain a healthy vegan diet!

Weaver also has a huge wine and beer selection and also sells locally-brewed coffee.

The breakfast, lunch, and dinner hot and cold bars at Weaver Street are fantastic and very veg-friendly. For breakfast they serve an amazing tofu scramble, the best hash browns I've ever had, and delicious vegan oatmeal; you can eat a very large meal for less than $5. For lunch and dinner, there is a huge salad bar with all kinds of beans, veggies, some fruits, and very good vegan dressings. The hot bars always feature delicious vegan food (as well as meat and dairy/egg dishes).

The bakery is renowned in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area for having excellent breads and pastries. There are always a few delicious vegan cakes, cupcakes, etc. available.

If you're in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area Weaver Street is a must!

Pros: very vegan friendly, delicious hot and cold bars, great bulk section

Cons: could offer more vegan pastries
