Serves meat, vegan options available. Gift shop and a daytime cafe that's mostly lacto-vegetarian except for fish. Could make a dish vegan - for example request mango chutney instead of creme freche as a dip or ask to omit cheese in sandwich. Typical mains are spicy lentil, chickpea croquettes with salad, coconut curry with pita, hummus platter, sandwich, flapjacks. Keeps on stock soya milk, organic juices. Open Tue-Sat 09:30-17:00. Closed Sun-Mon.

One of the longer established places that does vegan food. - Edit
I think I have visited occasionally for the past 25 years. Nice food, lovely mirror on the staircase going to the café make the entrance look grand.

Good coffee - Edit
Nice place to sit and staff were friendly. Good coffee but soya milk tax (50p). They had vegan cake when I visited, a peanut butter slice (flapjack?) which was tasty.

You might walk by this place - Edit
This delightful family run place is above a gift shop & you might not even know it's there!
Read moreNot strictly veggie, but always has a couple of delicious home cooked vegan options on, as well as soya milk for teas & coffees etc.
Very friendly staff & proprietor always eager to please. They even have a special table downstairs at the back of the gift shop for pet owners to sit with their loved ones.
A busy place, they sometimes sell out of the vegan/veggy option but they are so friendly that they will usually make you up something especially.
Lovely food, all made on premises.

Couple of vegan options for lunch - Edit
This is a pleasant cafe above a gift shop, mostly-vegetarian with vegan options. It's an adequate place to go, very popular with older people.
Read moreWith a little bit more effort - getting some vegan marg in, not using butter for dishes like leek and potato soup where it isn't exactly necessary, baking some vegan cakes as well as making some flapjack - it could be a really great place.
The same people run the cafe over the road but this hardly ever has any vegan options for some reason!
Pros: Would not take a huge effort to be great, vegan options available, pleasant
Cons: Not 100% vegan (or even veggie), Could be more vegan-friendly, No vegan cakes!
