Serves meat, vegan options available. Located at Wall Drug’s Western Art Gallery. Offers a vegan garden burger made with vegetables and grains. Open Mon-Sun 8:00am-7:00pm.
While the menu says they offer a vegan patty, it is not vegan. I waited in a long line only to be told when I got to the front that the recipe had been changed and the patty is not longer vegan bc it has cheese in it.
The town of Wall is located in the heart of South Dakota, and is surrounded by hundreds of cattle ranches, so it is no surprise that there are 6 beef-based burger choices and only 1 plant-based burger choice, but at least there is one!
The plant-based burger is called the Garden Burger. The menu description says “natural vegan patty made with vegetables and grains”. They also put lettuce, tomato and onion on it. You can order it with fries or onion rings if you want.
The patty was very tasty. It was moist but not to the point of being soggy. It is unclear if the bun is vegan, and if the fries and onion rings are vegan (or if they are cooked in a shared fryer).
Besides the vegan Garden Burger, there is also a small side Green Salad that is vegan (iceberg lettuce, tomato, red onion). These are the only two menu items that are vegan.
The vegan burger was decent. It was moist and a little salty, but that's a welcome change from the hockey puck burgers I've had on my trip across the country.
I wish there were more options. They have a ton of desserts that all sound good but are only vegetarian friendly. I wish there was one that was vegan.
But I'm happy to have found something in the middle of nowhere.
I ordered a Garden Burger with fries. It was bland, but I was surprised there was even a vegan option. (The menu states the patty is vegan, but I did not confirm the bun.)
Warning: There are many taxidermied animals throughout Wall Drug.

Not bad - Edit
You’re gonna be hard pressed to find much else here besides the gas station Subway.
