Decent Vegan Section on Menu! - Edit
This three star review is based on my first visit to Wal. This could be lifted to a four based on future visits.

The staff are friendly and offer Welsh language service, our order was quick to be taken, our food was quick to arrive even during a very busy lunch service, the portions were generous and the food was beautifully presented and, most importantly, this restaurant is most certainly catering with vegans in mind. Not only did they have a generous vegan section on the menu, but they also had a vegan special on too! I feel Wal is one of the most vegan friendly places in Caernarfon and should be on the radar of all visiting vegans as the town does not have a vegan or a vegetarian cafe.
Now, the things that pulled down the score. My Vegan Wrap arrived without the Side Salad as described on the menu, which was disappointing as that is a part of why I had ordered it. What's even more disappointing is that no explanation was given as to why the salad was missing. The food was also put on a plate that was far too small, which meant my chips were falling from my plate when I was attempting to cut up my wrap. The wrap itself was well packed, and the veggies were cooked well, but it was advertised as a cajun spiced wrap, and unfortunately, it tasted bland and unspiced. Another thing that has pulled down the score is that it is only on the way out that I noticed a vegan special (Vegan Chicken Strips) was on offer and none of the front of house staff had informed us of this special or of what the soup of the day was. We also weren't told if it was table service, so we felt a little uninformed after being seated.
Overall, though, I had a positive experience here, and it was extremely busy, so I'm sure these mistakes only happened due to the staff being incredibly busy. I would certainly visit again out of season as they cater so well for vegans and because other vegans hold this place in high regard!

Read moreOne of us had the Funghi pizza & described it as the "best (vegan) pizza I've ever had" - as I pinched some of it, I tend to agree!
I had the all day breakfast, which was very good.
Staff were friendly & professional.
Well worth a visit if in the area.

SERVED NON VEGAN FOOD TWICE - Edit
I ordered a vegan jacket potato and it came with cows cheese, the waiter apologised and brought me a vegan jacket potato, with complimentary fries on the house for the mistake, however there was coleslaw dropped in the fries so just clearly careless with preparation, the manager did not seem apologetic and said “well the fries were free” and just gave a refund on my meal. After leaving I was reading through their reviews on google and someone said the same thing happened to them, and their response was “we ran out of the vegan cheese”. Disgusting.

Such a shame that my wife's bagel had a hair in and the staff just made excuses that it was from a caper! Err, we know what a hair looks like and last time I checked, capers don't have them! Chef plating up wasn't wearing a hairnet so assume it came from him. A bit of honesty and apology would have gone a long way. A shame, as the vegan breakfast I had was good

So happy to find this place with a decent selection of vegan options. I had the vegan wrap which was really tasty, the skinny fries were nicely seasoned and the coffee was fab with a range of plant milks.

Good restaurant / cafe in the heart of Caernarfon only one vegan breakfast option but very tasty. The lunch menu became available at 11am with pizza, burger, soup and garlic bread. The service was slow as they were fully booked.

A very good choice for a proper vegan meal. We had a really good vegan pizza and vegan burger! Staff attentive, and all wearing face masks. There are glass sepators between the tables.

I had seen other posts about this place and tried it with my wife who is a flexitarian. She was happy with her food and I had a nice curry with two small naans.
Read moreThe food had clearly been prepared from scratch as we had to wait a while. The place was very busy, being a lovely day in early August, but the staff really worked hard to keep us happy and kept updating us.
Even the proprietor was helping out up front as they had several staff short but even though the place was virtually full - inside and out - it still felt good. The proprietor apologised and chivvied up the cooks for us and it was worth waiting for. A pleasant meal and nice ambience.
Pros: They are sympathetic to Vegans, Good location and ambience

Went here twice in a week. They are very open to vegans and have good separate menu. The pizza was really good with lots of vegan cheese and amazing mushrooms. The "burgers" are unfortunately served without buns, so not really burgers at all. The patty was tasty and served on a nice ratatouille. What really brought it together was the caramelised red onions!

Stumbled across Wal whilst with a group of people after climbing Snowdon. We had a quick flick through the menu and saw that there was a dedicated vegan section with options such as pizza and pasta and also offering vegan cheese.
Read moreI ordered the pizza (mushrooms, peppers, onions and vegan cheese) which was so good and just what was needed. I was really full and satisfied. There was also a vegan dessert which I think was a chocolate torte with orange sorbet but we didn’t stay for dessert.
Would 100% recommend
