Good donuts

The donuts were good, the frosting was incredible. We got the chocolate frosting and espresso. Bonus points for the oat milk latte

Very dense donuts

The vegan donut is also gluten free I think. It’s very dense and moist with a sandyish texture. I will eat a half dozen in a day though lol. They are delicious and I’m impressed with their interpretation on a vegan donut. My personal tastes tend towards yeast raised though.

Pros: Yummy

Cons: Less available

GOOOOD DONUTS

I’m typically not a huge fan of cake donuts but these are REALLY good! Holds together when you pick it up to eat it, it’s moist, the icing is delicious and only $2.50 a donut. Not everything is vegan but they do offer a few flavors.

Pros: A few vegan options

Vegan Donuts

Enough said😄Went so many years without donuts that now I am always grateful when places like this have vegan options... Think there were four the morning I was in there, got one of each, all good, especially dipped in almond milk... There were just pieces left when I thought to take a photo (haha)... Get some donuts and a coffee, go walk or sit by the river, such a great way to start a day

Pros: Vegan options, Location

I don’t even like donuts but I tried the Carolina sand donut and it was super yummy! Only $2. Would go again.

Good (vegan) donuts

Not my favorite donuts ever, but thats mostly personal preference. They’re still very good and always have a vegan option which is nice.

Delicious donuts

Very good donuts! The vegan Carolina Sand was our favorite. They had 4 vegan options: Carolina sand (maple frosting with cinnamon), glazed, chocolate peanut butter, and strawberry with lemon glaze. They also had almond milk for their coffees.

Not Amazing, but Still Donuts!

They had 4 vegan flavors today — glazed, some sort of berry, chocolate with PB, and maple cinnamon. They’re a little on the small side, and somewhere between raised and cake donuts in consistency. Not amazing, but still donuts! And only $1.25 to $1.95 depending on flavor.

Best of a bad situation

I’m grateful that there is a place that offers vegan donuts so now we can finally walk in and eat some fresh made donuts. However they’re never fresh. Even early in the morning they always have a stale feel to them. Good if you really want a donut bad if you’re picky

Maybe I was there on an off day...I couldn't even eat them :-(

I am hoping I was there on an off day. I was so excited for vegan donuts. I ended up throwing out both the ones I got. Technically edible, but not worth eating. So disappointing. It started the minute I walked in. Should have listened to my gut yet all the previous reviews seemed good, so I gave it a shot.

First off, they have a beautiful display of their non-vegan donuts, gorgeously decorated to choose from. I asked about vegan ones and there were 4 of the saddest donuts on display. Terribly decorated, half the size of the non-vegan ones. But you know, looks aren't everything. I got a plain glazed and a blueberry streusal. They tasted like baking powder or whatever leavener they use. The blueberry topping was weird and gross. The plain glazed one was kinda ok because the glaze was normal.

I gave 2 stars because there is an effort, I guess. Although I'd prefer no vegan options to horribly disappointing waste of money options. Sigh.

Wake n bake, if you read this, amazing vegan donuts are possible!! Don't shortchange us. If you care about what you're making, show your care in ALL your donuts. Go to sweet theory in jacksonville FL. Those are donuts!

Pros: There are vegan options

Cons: bland weird, sad donuts, an afterthought to their

Yummy vegan cake donuts

We went twice in one week, while vacationing at Carolina beach. The first time, they had 4 kinds of vegan donuts: couch potato (with chocolate icing and potato chips), cotton candy mouth (with white, pink, & blue icing), vanilla glazed, and Carolina sand (with maple icing and a crunchy cinnamony topping).

When we went on a Friday morning, they only had a handful of vegan donuts left, so we got the last vanilla glazed, one cotton candy mouth, and one couch potato.

The Carolina sand, cotton candy mouth, and couch potato were all very, very sweet, but that's what one would expect from a specialty doughnut like those. My favorite was the vanilla glazed, because it was simple and not too sweet. My daughter loved the combination of sweet, salty, and crunchy in the couch potato.

I wish they would do more to promote their vegan donuts. Vegan donuts are on the printed menu, but not on the blackboard above the counter. If you were just walking by, there is nothing on the sign or in the store windows that would indicate they have any vegan donuts. On the counter, the vegan donuts aren't even labeled as such - they are just on a separate unmarked tray.

I also wish they had vegan raised donuts; all of their vegan donuts are cake donuts. But I'm not complaining - they were delicious!

They have a little seating area and free water from a water cooler - awesome!

Pros: Specialty vegan donuts, Friendly staff, Free cold water!

Cons: Little variety, Vegan donuts not obvious

Good vegan donuts

If you like cakey donuts, theirs are terrific! And every time I have been, they have several vegan choices. So if I'm in the mood for a sweet breakfast - this is the place!

Updated from previous review on 2017-06-09

Pros: multiple vegan choices, good flavor, very accessible - great hours!

Cons: can be a little dense, but I like that in a donut
