I was a die-hard wagamama fan until pretty recently when I decided to branch out and go to smaller Asian food places in Newcastle. You can get the same (if not better) food from smaller businesses for a fraction of the cost

Always my first choice when in an omnivore group, there's so many vegan options and all of them are delicious. I usually order the vegatsu but everything I've tried has been delicious, especially the yasai katsu and the firecracker ramen

You really cannot go wrong with a Wagamamas. Around 50% of their menu is vegan or can be made vegan.
Read moreThe Newcastle location was not as good as other locations I have ate in (Bolton & Manchester). Their menu seems to change slightly depending on location. I did miss the vegan egg- that is one of my favourite menu items along with their “squid”.
I opted for the crispy mushrooms to start, which were truly too crispy.. a bit disappointing. The ramen was delicious and the broth was spicy and tasty. We also ordered a hot vegatsu. A stable when we order here.
If you want fresh and tasty food, I would recommend Wagamama’s every time.

Safe bet for meal with omnis - Edit
I was with a bunch of omnis, and Wagamama I knew would be a good choice, as it always is. I had tofu curry and a juice, one of my friends had a vegan donburi—both were very good. The setting here very nice, a great place to hang out with friends.

Fastfood op z'n Japans - Edit
Alles is gericht op snel eten met korte doorlooptijden. Gerechten worden in willekeurige volgorde geserveerd. Redelijk wat keuze. Eten is goed maar prijzig voor fastfood. Juices zijn heerlijk.

Bang Bang Best Seat in the House #Veganuary - Edit
After an excellent introduction to the Wagamama vegan menu in Summer 2018 where we first sampled the delicious vegatsu it was a long overdue return in 2022 to experience the more extensive #VEGANUARY menu. We just went for it. No holds barred. Miso soup with pickles, vegan egg, a fantastic chicken teriyaki ramen, bang bang cauliflower and the very very special Tempura F-ish Bang Bang Yaki-imo. Two glasses of Pinot Grigio (large) somehow also ended up on the final bill. A very successful mission indeed #Veganuary

Bang, bang cauliflower! - Edit
Absolutely loved our starter dishes of the bang bang cauliflower with the sublime firecracker sauce and the delicious spicy teriyaki vegan chicken hirata steamed buns. I could eat those starters on repeat they are so good and so flavoursome. We also ordered the teriyaki vegan chicken ramen but found it to be a little bland, although the vegan chicken was great. We also got the tofu raisukaree, which had a beautiful fragrant sauce but the tofu was too soft and crumbly for my liking. Might have just been an off day for both main dishes but I would visit again, only stick to my personal favourite, the firecracker tofu.

Huge choice of really nice vegan food (50% of the menu!) as well as a lovely atmosphere and staff. It’s also very convenient. There was a bit of a wait outdoors in the cold, but definitely worth it.

There is an entirely separate vegan menu with so many sides, mains and desserts to choose from! Also lots of juices, soft drinks and alcohol included on the vegan menu. They’re always introducing new vegan dishes to try too. Some of my favourites are the tofu raisukaree, vegan chilli squid and vegan mushroom buns.

Their curry is soooo good. Love their fresh fruit juices. Lovely atmosphere. Can be a bit pricey but apart from that, it's a great place to grab lunch or dinner.

Superb! Has seitan, tofu & even a vegan soft boiled egg made from coconut & siracha. We had vegan pad thai, seitan curry & rice, warmed salted edamame, marinated cauliflower 'wings', mushroom hiratcha steam buns, the avant gard'n, & matcha cake & strawberry & mint icecream aswell as sweet sake. Food has perfect combination of flavours, fresh ingredients & lovely service!

Great selection of vegan choices, from starters through to desserts. Our waitress was vegan too and really helpful with making choices (when there were too many options to choose from!) And the food itself was incredibly delicious!

Avant Garde Vegan Bowl - the best ever! - Edit
So lucky to be visiting the UK just when Avant Garde vegan, Gaz Oakley, vegan bowl was made a permanent feature in all Wagamama outlets. The bowl is in one word - AMAZING! The real-life looking egg, the spices, the seitan pieces .... Another dish that will stay with me (and my dreams) forever. People in the UK - you are soo lucky!

I was really impressed with the vegan menu and all of the options the restaurant had. I had heard really good things about the vegatsu dish (katsu curry with breaded seitan). I really liked the seitan and the sticky rice but I think I'll order something else next time I go.

We had lunch there today. I love that they have a separate vegan menu. My husband is lacto free but wants meat! They brought out the master binder to see if the dish he wanted would work. Nice food, portions seemed small--or overpriced. I also had a large carrot juice--very nice.

Excellent Vegan Options - Edit
There’s a really good range of vegan options for such a mainstream restaurant and the vegan dishes are clearly labelled (ask for the vegetarian/vegan menu). Perfect place to go if you’re out with non-vegan friends but you still want more than a single vegan option! Delicious too!
