Nice but not super - Edit
The lasagne was nice, but the salad was uninspired. The space looks nice, but the tables were more cafe tables then dinner tables.

Unimpressed vegan latin food - Edit
We had very high expectations, given the other reviews, but in all transparency we were not impressed. We had the appetizers sample (empanadas (2), nachos supreme, buffalo chick'n and avocado fries). The only things we really enjoyed was the nachos but it was so so small. We had the plantain which was tasty, but we didn't fancy it with the curry sauce they partnered it with. The food is beautifully presented, but it was really lacking the flavor we were hoping for. We ended the meal with the warm sundae, which was sub-par. If you are looking to try it, it can definitely be split with 3-4 people, also there are nuts which wasn't stated so be cognizant of that if you have allergies. We probably wouldn't return here, but if we did we would settle for only the nachos.

Tons of character - Edit
Brought my omni mom here for their weekend brunch while in town and it was fantastic. Their brunch menu is not featured on their website, but it is comprised of classic brunch options with a Latin flare. Upbeat and intimate atmosphere.

So delicious! Chill laid back ambiance. It’s very unassuming and the food is consistently great! Recommend the empanadas and arepas!

Very Tasty! - Edit
Went here as wasn't far from where my friends band was playing and the food was full of flavor!
Read moreGot 3 "chicken" tacos with "cheese" and the right amount of flavor and seasonings was perfect!
Was fairly priced too from what I remember! Wish it wasn't so far away or would open a place here in Jersey!
I do remember waiting was a bit long but they were a bit busy.

Great food. Terrible service. - Edit
I came in here with my fiancé for a light snack around 4:30 because we were having a late dinner. We split three empanadas and a piece of carrot cake, which were all very good. The service, however, was some of the worst I’ve experienced. A man took our order and brought the empanadas out very timely, but never spoke to us again. A woman then asked if we wanted dessert and we ordered the carrot cake. It took longer for us to get the carrot cake than to get the empanadas even though the dessert is pre-made. When she bussed our table we asked for the check and we waited, I kid you not, 19 minutes to get the check. In that time, I saw her bus, print checks, and run credit cards for two other tables. Finally, we got the attention of the man who had originally helped us and he printed the check, but when we went to pay, he said it was cash only. Even though, like I said, I watched the woman run two credit cards while we waited for our bill. I would maybe order take out from here but definitely won’t dine in again.

Absolutely amazing - Edit
This restaurant is so freakin good and I can’t wait to go back. I had the buffalo wings appetizer, empanadas, and an arepa. It was some of the best vegan food I’ve ever had! The slow service didn’t even matter because the food was THAT GOOD. I can’t wait to come back here and try the other location as well

Tasty but poor service - Edit
Food is good. Exciting to have vegan empanadas and arepas. I waited a really long tome to order, seated at the bar. The bartender just looked through me every time she was there until another staff member checked in on me and apologized and took my order. Once I was done, I sat for ages again, with an empty glass, trying to get someone’s attention. And even when I did and asked for my check, that took long too.

Good experience but didn’t hit the “spot” - Edit
Traditional Latin cuisine served in the trendy Park Slope area of Brooklyn, NY providing customers with an exclusively vegan menu but lackluster quality and presentation.
Read moreFood ***
The homemade tortilla chips are very good and one the more unique we’ve had. However, the salsa they provide is in a very small holder for it (and very small amount), making it difficult to apply the salsa to the chips. We got the Chipotle burrito and the VSPOT burrito. The VSPOT burrito came to the table lukewarm, while the Chipotle burrito was heated properly as observed by the steam that came out when opened. I enjoyed my Chipotle burrito but my partner was not a fan of the VSPOT.
Atmosphere ****
Lively, popular, and intimate all at the same time. They definitely did well here. The only thing keeping it from five stars is the square footage of the space and there could be some improvements to the interior.
Service ***
Overall not bad, but the waiters switched in the midst of our dining experience and we were not informed. However, food was served at a reasonable time and a bottle of water provided to the table (definitely a star in itself)!
Price $$
Reasonably priced food.
We won’t give up on VSPOT and will probably check it out for brunch since we’ve read that their brunches are pretty amazing!
Pros: Lively atmosphere, Intimate seating arrangement, Several options

Great Park Slope brunch place - Edit
Great coffee, chill vibes, and some delicious foods. The steak breakfast is fantastic and all their fake meats are generally delicious. I stop into the V spot a lot, and am always more than satisfied with my meal! Definitely recommend it to any vegans in the area.

food was ok - Edit
So.... I was excited to finally try this place because it’s been on my radar for a while. I ordered take out and had a margarita while waiting. The drink was nice but the food... not so much. I ordered a philly cheese steak empanada and a couple of tacos. The empanada was good but I was unimpressed with the tacos. The filling tasted like a low grade meat substitute and the flavoring was off. I had to save the tacos by adding some avocado I had in the fridge. I will go one more time and try another item because the place was packed so some stuff must be good!?!

Damn the food here was good... All four dishes we had were super tasty and enough to impress my meat eating friend!
Read moreUnfortunately the service left a fair bit to be desired.
They forgot our starters, which we had to remind them of when our main dishes arrived, and then it took close to five minutes for cutlery to be provided after asking.
Even with that though I'd still go back for more!

Delicious, filling, and really friendly - Edit
This is one of my go to spots in NYC. The food is really well done (pro tip: the salsa is ridiculously addicting - throw it on everything). I haven't found something on the menu yet that I don't like, but my favorites are the empanadas and the VSpot burrito. The burrito especially is pretty stuffed and I always leave with a serious food baby. The coffee and mixed drinks are also pretty underrated here (they do an awesome michelada) and balance out the food coma a good bit.
Read moreThe staff is always super friendly and accommodating too which is a big plus in my book. Last Thursday of the month they do comedy night MC'd by one of the owners, and surprisingly pull in some pretty funny comedians. (Edit: I think this has recently been moved to a weekly event at the East Village location)
Definitely worth checking out.

Amazing Empanadas but CASH ONLY restaurant! - Edit
I really really really love V Spots empanadas, they keep me coming back despite some of the short comings. The Brooklyn location is sadly not anywhere near as nice ambiance wise as the Manhattan location, unfortunately. The menu is a bit pricey, although portions are large and could be shared between two people. I'm always slightly confused by V Spot's menu being latin yet they serve lasagne and buffalo chicken strips along with other items that just don't fit. I really wish they would 1. Lower their ludicrously high prices and 2. Streamline their menu to focus on the amazing latin dishes they are known for. I'm sure I'll come back to V Spot, probably for the empanadas, but I can't saw I'll be there regularly until they fix some things including the outdated cash only policy.

Good effort, but... - Edit
Staff is friendly and they try to do something different, but in my opinion the results are not brilliant. the quesadilla had a cheese that was too firm, the empanada was too small, the burrito and the arepas are a big no-no.

Empanadas are amazing - Edit
I had the philly empanada... It was great! I read a previous review saying they're too oily but I didn't think so at all. I got the tacos which I found incredibly spicy... I'm surprised they don't denote that on the menu, next time I'll see if they can tone down the spice or just order something else. My husband got the V spot burrito and loved it. Also the V spot sundae was so good! Warm brownie, ice cream and oreos, what's not to like. Very friendly staff as well. Would recommend to anyone.

Really oily/greasy food, but tastes good - Edit
When we told people we were going to Brooklyn for a month, everyone said, "You have to eat at The V Spot!" So, we did...
Read moreWell, I'm not sure what our friends were thinking. Everything we got was so oily that I felt really sick (I only ate 1/2 of an empanada, but I have a sensitivity to oily foods). I thought it tasted good. My daughter, who usually loves these types of things, couldn't get through a whole meal, either (she didn't like how anything tasted). We ended up throwing out our leftovers a few days later, and we didn't go back.
If I were to go again, I would look for something NOT fried. We only went with what our friends had recommended. They all thought we'd be eating here every other day.
Cons: Very oily

V spot has a very enticing menu, offering unique options and a *gasp* vegan brunch. As we were there on Sunday, we opted for the brunch. I had the tacos and my boyfriend had the "steak" breakfast. I'd give the food four stars. The waitress forget our milkshake a couple of times, and then forgot the check three times. Service deserves two stars. All in all, okay if you're in the neighborhood and friending for a vegan burrito, but don't go out of your way to come here.
