Best Vegan food plus lion fish

Vivo should be allowed to meet the 5 star veg requirement because it purposely sells only lion fish which have been a disastrous threat to the marine life in Cayman. Besides that, it is absolutely a delicious 😋 restaurant and my very favorite on the entire Island :-)

Pros: All vegan except lion fish ... , Lion fish is a very large threat to Cayman. , So delicious

WOW!

I would give VIVO five stars if I could (HappyCow prevents more than 4 stars if the restaurant isn't fully veg). I'm vegan at home/vegetarian outside of the home, and ate here while on vacation with 3 meat-eating friends. One is the pickiest eater in the universe (think burgers and fries) but we all loved the food.

It should be noted that VIVO chooses to serve lionfish, which is an invasive species in the Caribbean. So while VIVO is not totally veg, they do serve lionfish with environmental concerns in mind.

Of all the places I visited on the island, I unequivocally recommend VIVO and Island Naturals. You can't go wrong with either one.

Worth the drive to West Bay

I cannot say enough about how good the food was here. From the coconut ceviche (made from three different coconut ingredients) to the mushroom risotto to the falafel sandwich with vegan tzatziki (all of which my non-vegan wife really enjoyed too), we ate heartily here. The seating and parking are both limited, and since it's right on the water, you can also get some windy breezes. But the food and atmosphere are totally worth it!

Delicious seaside dining

We had the opportunity to stay within walking distance of this restaurant, so it is the only one we tried, but what a treat! As vegans, we had lots of options and i will justmention off the breakfast menu wonderful Vegan French toast, with a hint of rum and some homemade jam, great smoothies, vegan pancakes... Yum. From the dinner menu, the calamari (made from coconut) are delicious, and the sunshine loaf is wonderful, as is the salad with fake bacon shavings. The desserts, wow, we tried the pancetta, the chocolate mousse, the plantain chocolate cake... Would have tried their sandwiches as they have a vegan BLT but we ran out of time... Next time! It is great, food wise, location on the seaside, staff, everything!,

Pros: Great food, Great location, Super nice staff

Cons: Serves also lionfish (environmental reason), Expensive but not unusual for location

Best Restaurant in Grand Cayman

First, I'd like to clarify my 4 star rating is only because Happy Cow does not allow 5 stars to be given to restaurants that are not fully vegan. Grand Cayman has many veg-friendly and vegan restaurants to pick from, however, Vivo far surpasses them all. The ocean view is the best of any restaurant on the island and the service is outstanding. Unfortunately, finding nutrient dense vegan food in Grand Cayman can be challenging but this is one of the areas Vivo stands out. Even in major cities it's rare to come across a restaurant that can blend taste and nutrition as eloquently as Vivo. The food is truly a superb caliber of culinary artwork. I should also mention there are plenty of delicious gluten free options and almost all ingredients are local and/or organic. This combined with its staff and oceanfront location make this the best restaurant in Grand Cayman and one of the top "mostly vegan" restaurants in the world. If you only patron one restaurant while you're in Grand Cayman make sure it's Vivo.

Awesome restaurant! Amazing view on the ocean, very nice owner.

Mostly Vegan. They serve invasive Lionfish that killed anyway by locals to protect the corals.

Pros: Lots of Vegan options.

excellent food for vegans

We love this cafe. Lots of vegan, organic options. We had the falafel app and sandwich. Also had the "b"LT -- amazing! We went back and got the Sun Day Roast ... Fantastic. Great atmosphere. Owner extremely helpful and welcoming. This will be a regular spot for us.

Pros: vegan options, organic, locally sourced, friendly staff. great view
