enchiladas - Edit
I LOVE the enchiladas here, with both the queso and green sauces. I’ve had nachos and other items that were also equally amazing. I go here all the time and even pick it up to go!

very mediocre food - Edit
We have been to a lot of vegan restaurants, and we are excited to try new ones when we travel. I was really excited for this place because I love Mexican and I’m vegan.
Read moreWe got the buffalo cauliflower and the sauce was good and all but it wasn’t breaded or fried like the photo or like I expected. The sauces were pretty good and flavorful, the chipotle was my favorite.
The nachos were bland and lackluster, as were the enchiladas and my chalupa.
I did like that they had the chalupa “pay as much as you can”, which is nice for people who may not be able to afford food.
The staff were very friendly as well.
The mushroom tacos were pretty tasty, but almost everything else was bland/mushy. I wouldn’t return, and I wanted to like it especially after seeing the cute decor and the little story on the menu.
I was also sad to see milk and honey soap in the bathroom of a vegan restaurant :-(
Pros: parking , nice decor , some good food
Cons: most food is bland , non vegan soap and lackluster bathroom

This meal was beyond delicious. Scrumptious. We loved every bite! Started out with the buffalo cauliflower and it was perfect. Crunchy on the outside and the inside was just right. This is paired with avocado ranch dressing, which was fantastic. We ordered Chikn flautas, vegan nachos and tacos al pastor. Everything was full of flavor and very authentic. Closest thing to real deal Mexican food we’ve had since we transitioned to veganism. The charro beans were amazing with a kick of spice. We were too stuffed for dessert, so we took it to go.

best vegan mex restaurant! - Edit
Had the enchiladas Verde and their salsa is amazing and I'm pretty sure carrot based! The portions are large and all around $8.99! Even has a 'suggested price' option that is $6.99 but they'll feed someone if you have money or almost none.

odd establishment - Edit
Like another reviewer stated, this location is a hot mess. You seat yourself. Ok, I am fine with that. But then i have to go back to the counter to order? Tip upfront, Then get my own drink and refills, own silverware etc. The food was not good..sorry, but it isn't. Thankfully there are plenty of Mexican food restaurants in San Antonio who offer vegetarian, and vegan options that I can order from. Unfortunately the system wont let me give less than a 2 star rating (not sure why).

Love this place! - Edit
I just visited for the first time yesterday. The staff was super friendly and when I told them it was my first time there, they offered recommendations, which I accepted and decided on! I had the Rosalie Special, which changes, but yesterday was the Enchiladas Verde with beans, Spanish rice, salad with avocado ranch dressing. Oh my gosh!!! How awesome that they recommended the special and it happened to be exactly what I wanted. And it tasted amazing!! I also got a shredded beet salad on the side. I'm not a huge fan of beets but I'll try almost anything and this was so good!! The pricing was what I would have paid at a non-vegan restaurant for the same plate. I ordered to go and it was ready quick! I love that the ENTIRE menu is 100% vegan and gluten free! Will surely be back and bring people with me!

Omnivore, Vegetarian and Vegan...all happy - Edit
We used our app to find out that Green Vegetarian Cuisine was closed, and Viva Vegeria was recommended for a weekend brunch. They were fine with us bringing our pet rabbits, Nicholas and Daffodil, inside (in their travel carriers). That made us very happy. We totally enjoyed the breakfast buffet to eat while waiting for our ordered food. The beans were amazing, and the salad was spinach, layered with shredded carrots, purple cabbage and hibiscus flowers. We ordered a single chalupa, pumpkin pancakes and I can't remember the third item. Everything was so fresh and tasty. I wanted to stay another day in San Antonio to eat there again!

very tasty vegan food!! - Edit
First time visiting viva vegeria and I wish we had come here sooner! Would highly recommend trying the favouritos de la casa, great starter to share, has a great selection. We really liked the flautas del platano con chipotle. The vegan nachos are lovely full of flavour and the fried avocado tacos are really good the roasted corn is smokey and gives a really nice flavour. Also got a carrot cake cupcake which was very nice

Wonderful Vegan Restaurant - Edit
How surprising to find a vegan restaurant in San Antonio. The food was very good, especially the Avocado Kale Salad, the Guacamole & the Double Chocolate cupcake, which was incredible. The staff was extremely friendly. We will definitely return if we are ever in San Antonio again.

great Mexican American option - Edit
This is like the only fully vegan place in San Antonio, so our expectations were low but this place exceeded by far all of them. The personnel is nice, the food is amazing. I recommend the nachos with hand made vegan cheese and the zombi burger.
