Good food, great staff, fun atmosphere - Edit
Very friendly staff, cute facility. I ordered the “chicken” enchiladas verdes and the mushroom chicharron street tacos. While the texture of the mushrooms was great for texture sensitive folks, I got one as a side to try and for $5 was not worth the price. The Enchiladas meal was very good. I wish I could come back and sit in with friends and enjoy a meal there and try more items.
Read morePros: All vegan, Indoor and outdoor seating, good variety on menu
Cons: Food was "good" but not the best I have EVER had, Chicharron a bit overpriced

Arrive on an empty stomach - Edit
The atmosphere was so cute here with gorgeous artwork and contemporary reggaeton playing not too loudly in the background. I had trouble deciding what to order and in the end I went for the mushroom fajita salad. It showed up in an absolutely huge bowl, loaded with crunchy lettuce, spinach, tender beans, quinoa, avocado, carrots, stir fried onions and green peppers. Absolutely divine. Normally a salad doesn't fill me up but this definitely did the trick. Also coming from London where something like this would be double the price it was an utter dream.
Read moreI was so full I didn't order anything else but I bought 3 cupcakes at the end which to be honest seemed a little overpriced at 3.75 each. So a little disproportionate to the menu items. I'm looking forward to trying them though as vegan cakes are hard to come by.
I seemed to have two waitresses for some reason so I got two people coming over asking if everything was OK etc. Must have been some confusion but the food was worth it.
Pros: Deliciously filling, Great decor and vibe, 100% plant based
Cons: Expensive cupcakes, Confusing/confused service

We went two days in a row. The Buffalo Wings and Nachos are delicious and satisfying. The enchiladas are very tasty. The tortilla soup had perfect flavor. Definitely a must on your visit to San Antonio.

Best Mexican vegan food that I have ever tried that queso was ridiculous I could eat that all day.
Read moreI also got some enchilada verde. Which was hands-down amazing. If you have Omni friends they wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
As for the desserts they looked appetizing but didn't have the taste I was looking for.
The staff was very friendly and well attentive.

Could not agree more! They catered our wedding and our omni friends/family were amazed! They did not believe it was vegan!

Family friendly Mexican vegan - Edit
My family and I've been to VV under the original owner and the new owners as well. We've also attended cooking classes VV has conducted in the past.
Read moreOverall, it's a family friendly vegan restaurant that also does gluten free if you want. The food riffs on traditional Tex-Mex food. The veggie dog rollups are good enough that my fussy 2 year old gladly cleaned their plate.
It's the kind of vegan restaurant you can easily take omnivores to and they won't complain. The desserts are sublime but I rarely have any space left.
They do have a younger hipper crowd but easily accommodate families with kids. Over, an awesome environment that screams fun and cool.
My only drawback is the service lately can be a bit on the spotty side. The employees are happy it seems, but they are just slow or lackadaisical.
Pros: Great taste, Traditional-ish menu, value
Cons: service can be spotty, Parking can be a challenge

Incredible experience - Edit
It is so refreshing when you go to a vegan restaurant and the options are endless. Whether you fancy tacos, enchiladas, flatas, soups, or salads. They will have something you will love. For starters, try the picadillo nachos (they are amazing), also don’t forget dessert, the carrot cake is absolutely delicious! Overall great experience and you can bring your own beer or wine! Awesome!

Excellent first impression. - Edit
You won't go hungry here and both my dad and I loved it. The fried avocado tacos alone was worth the trip. My dad had the mushroom fajita salad and said it was "explosion of flavor". The tres leches cake was dense but not overly sweet. Also their kombucha is wonderful and I recommend it if you are new to trying it. The service was also spot on.

Vegan and gluten free!! - Edit
Holy guacamole- this place is what vegan gluten free cooked food dreams are in real life! I am glad this place isn’t in my home city, or I’d be broke and taco tummy full all the time.
Read moreThe real question is what not to order?!? They have multiple vegan nacho items?!?! Vegan dreams can come true!
They have multiple vegan taco dishes! And enchiladas! Ohmigosh! Tamales! I’m so happy here!!! Thank you!
The best part is the back story- the creator of this place is someone we should all admire and respect. When vegans are screwed over for our beliefs... what do we do? We don’t take it. This is what happened to the creator of this amazing place- we know the feeling vegans. So, represent and stand (or sit and eat) in solidarity.
This place is my taco nacho dream come true. And, they have cupcakes. And, yes, it’s all gluten free. Die happy? Here. No fake stuff, just real food. Love it.
Pros: All vegan, All gluten free, In solidarity- vegans unite.
Cons: I want to order it all., My belly can’t eat all that my eyes want.

Food is just great! Went with a party of five, so I had a chance to try a lot of dishes. All were just great, cannot recommend highly enough. Classic vegan nachos app is a must, also the fried mushroom tacos were my favorite, would highly recommend. everyone was so nice, the cashier even recommended we take the city bus back to our hotel , because Uber’s we so expensive that time of day. (Saved is a ton of money) Just a great little place. Give it a shot.

My husband and I had lunch here today and I already can’t wait to return! We both enjoyed the cauliflower “wings” (almost a little too much as we struggled to finish our main dishes). They were tangy and crispy and the buffalo heat was just right.
Read moreHe ordered the tacos al pastor and I chose the fried avocado tacos. Both dishes hit the spot. The charro beans were flavorful and filling, the rice was perfection and I honestly cannot choose my favorite between our tacos!
My plan is to return again and again until I have made my way through their menu.
Don’t forget to order dessert- the Mexican chocolate cupcake had me wishing I’d ordered a dozen.

Delicious Mexican food and great service - Edit
From the moment we walked in and were greeted, to the savory food and cute ambiance, we enjoyed our first time at Viva Vegeria. We were told to seat ourselves and then our server was very attentive. We shared the cauliflower buffalo wings which were really good, especially with the sauce. They did come out with our meal instead of before, but it was fine. I ordered the “chicken” enchiladas verdes and my husband had the tortilla soup. He asked for corn tortillas to go with his soup which comes with some rice and tortilla strips. We both devoured our meals. I think non vegans or non vegetarians could find plenty to eat and not know it was even vegan. Saw that they are BYOB which is good to know. You pay at the front as you leave and were again thanked for coming. Nice to support local and get great food and service.
