Excellent Vegan Food - Edit
During our trip to Tauranga, we visited Vitality Kitchen every morning and were very impressed. They offer fantastic plant-based breakfast and brunch options, with the mushrooms on toast and scrambled tofu being particular favourites of ours. They also have a fantastic selection of plant-based brownies and cakes too. The staff were always friendly, and the prices very reasonable. Would highly recommend!

Best breakfast in Tauranga! - Edit
The food here really doesn't disappoint! My partner had a sausage roll and I had tofu scramble. The sausage roll was really good and the pickled chutney was perfectly paired with it. The tofu scramble was UNREAL. Almost buttery, and nice and fluffy. The sourdough was really good quality and toasted to perfection! I'm pretty sure there was semolina on the crust which made it super crispy. The avocado pieces on the side were nice and soft, and the kale was insane! It was massaged in a mix of oil, lemon and garlic 👌 The service was great too! I have nothing but words of praise for this place and will have to be back soon.

OMG! Everything was AMAZING.
I've followed Vitality Kitchen on FB for years (from The Nourished Eatery days) and I've always wanted to try all the food but living in Australia and visiting home for 1 week a year I never got the time until now, and I wish I had gone sooner!
We drove from Rotorua and got there around 10.30 am and were seated right away (there was 4 adults, 1 child and 1 infant - 3 vegans, 1 vegetarian, 2 omnis)
We ordered:
Creamy Mushroom on Toast - OMG. Delicious!! Wish we could make this at home. Best creamy mushroom we've ever had.
Scrambled Tofu - AMAZING! I've never had scrambled tofu cooked the way this one was. It was amazing and my favourite dish.
Almond Cappuccino - very nice.
Sweet Chai Oat Mylk - delicious.
Choc Chunk Cookie - delicious. My son would only eat this while we were there.
Chocolate brownie - WOW! This is VERY chocolatey and I LOVE chocolate so I LOVED this. So so so delicious.
Raspberry Custard Donut - (I think that's right) but this was also so delicious. WOW. I've been craving a good donut for weeks and this hit the spot.
The vegetarian ordered avo on toast, she loved it and cleared the plate. Also got a hot chocolate which she said is the best hot chocolate she's had!
The omnis both got the creamy mushroom and really enjoyed it, haven't converted them but definitely makes them think twice about vegan food and how it isn't boring.
There was sooo much food in the cabinet too so we will definitely be back before we go back to Australia.
Thanks so much for creating awesome plant based food!
Pros: Everything is vegan, Owners are super friendly, Super fast service
Cons: Parking can be difficult

Amazing vegan cafe in Tauranga - Edit
And the only fully plant based place around here it seems. Regardless, fantastic fare. Had the scrambled tofu, tried my partner's creamy mushrooms, and apple crumble for dessert with what must have been coconut whipped cream, everything was delicious!
Read moreThe staff were also very friendly and accommodating, we're only sad that we're just passing through the area and won't get a chance to come back. But we did get some takeaway treats from the cabinet!

I had the scrambled tofu, a coffee, and a cake—the ginger slice. Highly recommend everything. There is a lot of choice, great, friendly service. And fantastic coffee—it is so hard to find a great vegan coffee in smaller towns. Highly recommend.

Great vegan eats in Tauranga - Edit
I love this place -- a 100% vegan restaurant in NZ is rare. Enjoyed the entrees and especially the dessets and smoothies. Such a calm environment with friendly staff. Hi Sarah! A sea of vegan tranquility

Healthy and tasty - Edit
This is the first time I’ve been here since ownership changed when it was the Nourished Eatery. The cabinet items look very similar but the menu is condensed, however I suspect most cafes and restaurants will be doing this given the cost of living crisis. There was still a good selection - about four savoury mains and two or three sweet mains to choose from in addition to the cabinet items.
Read moreThe scrambled tofu was one of the best scrambled tofus I’ve had and had a nice texture with a slight crunch to it. The chai smoothie was also delicious!
My mum also enjoyed her avo on toast and macchiato (she ordered a second macchiato so it can’t have been that bad 😉).
Wait staff were also friendly and food came out quickly.
Pros: Healthy options, Both cabinet and menu selection

Such a good selection - Edit
The Cafe is very cozy and the staff are lovely. The selection is very good, a range of sweet and savory food. The breakfast bun I had was full of flavor with a delicious chutney. I made the mistake (or maybe I saved myself) of visiting this place while only in search of a smaller meal, there was so much I wanted to try but wouldn't fit in. I will definitely go back the next time i am in Tauranga.

such a nice place to pop into for a mid morning coffee and cake or even a vegan sammy or pie for lunch! i grabbed a house made chai latte with almond milk and a peanut butter brownie (which was gluten free and vegan). everything was delicious and might it say the chai latte might have been the best i’ve had in a while. definitely recommend highly if your looking for a coffee and cake place in tauranga. will be going back!

Amazing vegan food - Edit
What a lovely experience to find this cafe that is completely vegan - they do sell cow’s milk but have loads of other plant based milks. We had the buckwheat hotcakes on our first visit there and they were delicious. Light and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Topped with grilled bananas, berries and coconut cream and maple syrup. We also had their ‘not chicken’ sandwiches for lunch and went back the next morning for a PB & J smoothie and apple and date muffin. If you are vegan and even if you aren’t you seriously need to go and enjoy some lovely food. The staff are also really nice.
