Excellent Station Healthfood Store

Great range of vegetarian and vegan goods including freshly baked breads and rolls. Ideal for stocking up when arriving in town by train.

Pretzel

The plain pretzel(€1.1) is vegan, we got that. It was nice, but another bread store that was in the same station have better vegan pretzel. The other store’s pretzel(€0.8) was warmer, cheaper and fluffier.

Pros: Lots of vegan products , Clearly labeled, but not the bread section

Cons: Expensive

'Vegan' very clearly labeled

Inside of train station / major traffic spot 'Friedrichstraße'. They label 'vegan' better than anyone: On large, clear & unambiguous price tags. Spreads, cosmetics, bread, pretzels, nuts, frozen stuff, everything, even pickled gherkins!

Great vegan selection

Great selection of vegan food items! Vegan products are clearly labeled on the shelves, so you don’t have to check the ingredient list.

Turn the air on!

I have noticed that many shops and restaurants in Germany don't believe in air-conditioning. But when you have fresh fruits and produce in there, you simply can't keep the temperature that warm or you'll risk making them overripen/wither, which was exactly what happened in this store. Beside the perishables, nuts, seeds, flours, etc are also best kept in a cool dry environment for a longer shelf life. I'm not sure if they have a fast enough inventory turnover; I won't be comfortable purchasing these items here.

All that being said, location is really convenient. Opening hours enable Sunday shopping, when pretty much the whole country shuts down. It's more of a grocery store where you can get daily supplies. I was primarily looking for vegan snacks on the go and a bit disappointed with the selections.

Pros: location, weekend shopping

Cons: way too warm inside

Vitalia - Friedrichstrasse

Vitalia Reformhaus is located in the Friedrichstrasse Bahnhoff near the Bradenburg Gate. It's very convenient, however, I felt it was more vegetarian and gluten free friendly. They did have fresh fruit too, however, I wouldn't suggest going there to stock up on vegan snacks.
