Serves meat, vegan options available. Upscale natural cuisine restaurant in the city centre since 2015. Was originally vegan but added meat and dairy. Now around 80% of the menu is vegan. Removed May 2018 - now mostly meat and fish with only a couple of vegan choices.

Disappointed

We went there after finding Vita on Happy Cow. We were disappointed that the menu is now mostly animal based. There were very few vegan options. We went at the stated opening time, 7 pm, but were told that it didn't open until 7:30. We decided to walk around and come back at 7:30, but while walking we found an excellent vegan pizzeria, Lore, so we ate there instead.

Pros: Does have some vegan items, The staff is vegan friendly

Cons: Very few vegan items, They do not open on time, Expensive

Change of menu for economical reasons

It's a somewhat fancy place just a few steps from the amphitheater and the aragonese castle in Lecce.

Went there and was surprised when the daily dish was some pasta with seafood. A look at the menu was quite disappointing as well, 3 of the four choices for each course were non-veg (mostly fish/seafood, cannot recall if one was meat as well). So that's a far stretch from "80% vegan" as stated in the above description - to be fair one of the 2nd course items was just called "the vegan", I guess giving you a hint you should ask about what that one is if so inclined.

That said, once I made clear I don't eat animals the staff knew what they were doing and checked with the chef what the menu situation is and came back with two suggestions and later also had vegan dessert options for me. Food was fine in the end and not particularly expensive.

I had a quick chat with the owner/manager and he confirmed that originally the place was 100% veg but couldn't sustain itself on that customer base (Lecce is very small and geared for older, wealthier and certified non-veg tourists by the looks of it). He himself is vegan so they're trying to be nice at least. Probably one of your best options if you're in the area.

Pros: They know what vegan is

Cons: Mostly animals on menu

Healthy Food

I ate black rice with vegetables and potato cannelloni and chicory ... Yummy and what about the ice cream laurel? And basil.? The steamed vegetables? Really all good. Congratulations.
