A bit hit and miss

Bearing in mind that local businesses have been hit hard with COVID-19 and some have only just opened up: we were grateful to find this little veggie place was open for seated meals. I think this may have been why it was empty when we arrived on a Saturday morning for brunch.

The place was freezing cold, and didn't get any warmer (despite pointing out that we were cold and spotting a reverse cycle a/c). So I had to convince my dining partner to stay and give this place a try.

I ordered coffee and, after reading the pizza recommendations on here; a Green Goodness pizza. Also at our table we had nachos.

The pizza was delicious, albeit a little cool. The nachos were cold.

Our host was most apologetic about the cold nachos and offered a fresh batch. So now we had hot nachos (these ones were with dairy cheese) topped with guac and sour cream. It still seemed a bit boring. There was no salsa or beans and the flavours I was told were a bit 'meh'.

The pizza on the other hand, was so fresh and lovely with the pine nuts and vegan feta.

Our host was most open to hearing feedback. They use Bonsoy in the coffee.

I would consider going back, but my dining companion (who had the nachos) was adamant, there are too many really good cafes around here to put up with substandard meals and uncomfortably cold surrounds.

Great pizza

March 2020
Today we had the Sumi special with vegan cheese which was again very good. Also enjoyed the buffalo broccoli (special) as a side.

Feb 2020
Garlic and cheeze focaccia (veganised) was very cheesy. The mushroom pizza with almond feta was quite good but I enjoyed the specials pizzas more.

A great pizza needs no cheese; Vinnies did not disappoint! Great crust, sauces and toppings made for a very enjoyable meal. We'll be back to try other flavours.

P. S. Vegan cheese is available, we just chose to give it a miss.

Best potato pizza in Melbourne!

We ordered the Moroccan tagine and a vegan potato pizza, and the pizza was the best vegan pizza we've ever had. We were still talking about it the next day! Full of oozy, cheesy goodness, generous chunks of soft and fluffy potato, and wonderful flavour from the rosemary and caramelised onion. Stunningly delicious.

The tagine was ok, but the vegan tzatziki it was served with was out-of-this-world good. We could have eaten a bucket of it just on its own!

We were too full to order desserts, but the range looked really good. Tonnes of vegan cookies, slices, balls, etc. We will definitely return to try more off the diverse menu.

The place seems a little out of the way, but it was actually a bit quicker and easier to get to than a lot of vegan places on somewhere like Brunswick St, as there's no traffic and plenty of parking. The restaurant was also refreshingly chilled and quiet, with nice ambiance. The gentleman who runs it was lovely and helpful without being overbearing. I hope this place gets the love it deserves so it can be around for many years to come!

And did I mention the pizza?! :-)

Pros: Stunningly delicious pizza, Amazing tzatziki, Huge vegan range

Great vegetarian cafe

Delicious food, really generous serving sizes and pretty reasonable prices! The owner was lovely and the menu is really varied, with a vegan option for almost everything. There’s a big specials board with things like soups, pancakes, waffles etc as well as the big menu so heaps to choose from!

Pros: Lots of variety and lots of vegan options , Big portions , Delicious food

Cons: Nothing
