Nice but a little pricey!

There were a couple of options for starters, lunch and main meals. One option which was vegan cheesecake for pudding.

I had Vegan butternut ravioli and a side of roast veg (which was parsnip and carrot)
Marc had Beyond burger and upgraded his fries to sweet potato which was a good idea because they were so tasty

That and 2 soft drinks came to just below £50. Portion size was OK, regular pub style.

Really enjoyed the meal and the staff were really friendly too.

***A little warning, the pub is fairly traditional and features some hung, taxidermy dear heads, antlers and also some fishing pictures and hunting paraphernalia.***

Pros: A good handful of choices, All cooked well and were tasty

Cons: Taxidermy/hunting/fishing stuff on walls

Lots of vegan options

It is great to find a place like this offering a variety of vegan options in the countryside where there are only a few restaurants. We had the vegan wellington and a vegan salad and veggies as a side dish, all good size and tasty.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Friendly service, Good value for money

Alright but not amazing

Review in March 2022: Good to have options in places like Arrochar. Our experience here was quite poor to be honest. As we had a dog with us we sat outside but the heaters wouldnt work so was very cold. Burger was average and the gyoza a bit overpriced. That said, its good to have options.

Review update October 2022: returned here to try the vegan chicken burger and sat inside and we had a more comfortable experience. Changed 3 stars to 4 stars!

Bog standard burger

We were staying in Arrochar for a week and called into the Village Inn for dinner one evening. It's a nice pub and on a sunny day you can enjoy a pint at one of the many outdoor tables overlooking beautiful Loch Long.

There are quite a few vegan options available, which is great for a small village in rural Scotland! But, sadly, none of those options are too inspiring. In the evening vegans can pick from two types of burger, a tart or nachos. There are other options at lunchtime plus some additional vegetarian options. We both had a burger, which was nice enough but nothing amazing. Bog standard really.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Nice loch front location, Good range of local ales

Cons: Uninspiring , Not enough healthy choices

Good food, nice venue

While staying in Arrochar we ate twice at the Village Inn and enjoyed our meals both times. The tart in particular was a surprisingly tasty and a big portion size.

Nice food

Nice place, food was good and friendly staff. I chose the vegan Thai Red curry and vegan Chocolate orange torte from the specials board. There were couple of options on the main menu but they didn't inspire me much. I got the impression staff would have been pleased to accommodate other vegan options if they could, but luckily not required on this occasion.Sorry no photos I forgot i was too busy eating the Nice food!

Pros: Vegan options, accommodating & friendly staff

Cons: Not many choices but options none the less

Decent options in rural location

Vegan starter, 3-4 mains and 2 desserts clearly marked on menu. The starter was sold out. Mains and desserts we had were very tasty and creative. Lovely loch views, friendly staff.

Pros: Clearly marked vegan options for each course, Good outside area and views

Great pub very accommodating

Great pub with great views. They made us feel welcome after struggling to find a restaurant with vegan options in the area and they have several options on the menu clearly labelled. The staff were lovely and the moving mountains burgers (both types) were lovely. Definitely recommend a visit if in the area!

Amazing Food!

We ate there on our way from Glasgow to Ben More. The food was absolutely fantastic. Very tasty and carefully prepared.

We had the vegan burger and pesto pasta. Also, we had the side salad.

Go there!

Should be five stars, which unfortunately wasn‘t possible.

Warm welcome on rainy night (twice)

Offered a warm welcome and very pleasant, “proper pub” interior on a couple of fierce rainy nights in January. The options for vegans are decent - especially the chilli. The lemon cake was weaker, but still nice to see a pudding option. Please note - the lighting has a glow to it; very nice when there, but it makes the food look odd in the images shown here.

Pros: Solid vegan options, Fair pricing, Friendly staff and atmosphere

Tasty food and a decent dessert

2 vegan options on the menu and a dessert. Chilli with nachos, guacamole and sour cream was really good. Staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely old pub with stove and dogs welcome.

Very good vegan options including vegan mayo and cake!

The vegan chilli with nachos, avocado and vegan mayo (ask for it if they don’t bring it at first) was really tasty. The lemon cake dessert was also very good. Surprised to find such good options in a pub in Arrochar.

Pros: Very good vegan options , Good dessert option , Clearly marked on menu
