Bougie Gentrifiers

At first glance, the Refillery seems like a cute little local store. The prices inside do not reflect this in the slightest. Would rather go somewhere like Adams or the farmers market for my local produce.

The staff was very unwelcoming too, an overall crummy experience.

Awkward pick up order

I was impressed by the interesting items that they had available, and used their online option to pre-order to make it easier to pick up, as I'm caring for someone with major medical problems. I was given a gift card to help us through this difficult time, and was less concerned about the prices than I usually would have been. I wasn't impressed with my experience with the coffee shop in midtown, as they had declined to make any alterations to an item so that I could feed it to my child. (Hard cook an egg on an egg sandwich was apparently too horrible to consider.) I hoped that was just a fluke
I ended up having to leave this recovering person in the car for 15 minutes past the time they said it would be ready for pickup, because items had not been prepared. Out of the three items that I had ordered, only one was waiting, which they handed to me as if it was time for me to leave and that was all. When I pulled out my order to show them that there were two other items remaining, somewhere from the back piped up and said "oh I packed up (part of the order)." They then took their time heating up the last item, and just handed it over without an apology. 🤷🏽‍♂️
It's really wonderful that they have local products, and other interesting things that you certainly don't find at the big box grocery. I would just suggest you go in for yourself to place the order and make sure it is all correct, and bring lots of money.

Pros: Surprising vegan treats , Local produce and products

Cons: Confused staff that doesn't communicate , Expensive!, Upcharge for vegan

Food and staff ok, store was great

We got some amazing local organic sourdough bread and some wonderful vegan baked goods and buckwheat crackers to take home, all so good. Other cool house wares and products. If you get the veggie burger cut the pesto in half, the mushroom dish was ok. Staff not very welcoming.

Nice, somewhat fancy health food and local produce store

Great veggies grown at Black Horse farm, here in the Hudson Valley. Many interesting bulk health food items--both food and household soaps, detergents, etc. Food bulk items in bins are sold by the ounce, but not at ridiculous prices. I don't know where else in the area I have seen black sesame seeds. Vegan prepared items such as Chia Pudding that many will recall from Village Coffee and Goods, the proprietors' first store in the area. Menu items for the outdoor seating and to-go include a delicious Vegan Burger and a spinach salad. From the deli case, I have tried the Vegan Hand Pie, which I found tasty and enjoyable. Among the salads in the display case during the visit were two more vegan items: black-bean and kale-quinoa salads. Vegan coffee and tea drinks with two vegan milk options. The store emphasizes the eco practices of local sourcing and buying in bulk. Water for eating at the outdoor seating was served in a glass with ice. Many organic items. A drawback at busy times is that the store features only one checkout station. Also, the occasional pop-ups are likely to be very busy events. Promising new health food store in a neighborhood that did not have one. Located in the old Sunshine Market. The market's Midtown location (Jansen St.) is a block away from Broadway.
