Bed and breakfast built from recycled materials and uses solar panels, organic bed sheets and cleaning products. A vegan breakfast served to the guests rooms generally includes bread, muffins, pancakes, and granola. Location is close to the Dutch coast. Check in 3-8pm, check out by 10:30am. Open Mon-Sun 09:00-21:00.

Vegan B&B aan de kust - Edit
1 nachtje gelogeerd bij Michel & Selma, in Villa la Vida. We hadden de 2-persoonskamer, die écht groot genoeg is. Goede matrassen heeft, een nette badkamer en een leuke zithoek. Het ontbijt is zeer uitgebreid en meer dan genoeg! Met liefde gemaakt door Selma en dat proef je. Je loopt vanuit de B&B zo door Egmond naar het strand, heerlijk van genoten!

Looking forward to coming back - Edit
We spent a few very enjoyable days in Egmond aan Zee and directly felt at home at Villa La Vida. The room (Flamingo Kamer) is spacious and stylishly decorated, the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast came with various delicious savoury and sweet items, with a different selection every morning.

Great b&b by vegan and sustainable owners - Edit
This b&b is the place to be when you want the best (vegan) breakfast and nicest owners around. Selma and Michel are true vegans and very helpful when you need info about activities, parking spots, etc.
Read moreBreakfast is homemade, very good and served in your room (there’s no common room). It’s a lot of food and a nice mix of sweet and savoury. We liked the banana bread the best, although everything was good.
It’s only a 10 minute walk from the beach and in a quiet neighbourhood. When you have a car, it’s also close to Alkmaar and Noord-Hollands duinreservaat (nice for hiking marked trails).
Good to know:
- Only the 1-person room is on the ground floor. For 2-person rooms, you need to be able to walk stairs.
- They have a fridge in the corridor where you can store your own food. Your room is provided with tea and coffee.
- The beds come with summer blankets (the b&b is meant for spring/summer tourism), so if you get cold quickly, it’s better to pack extra warm pyjamas.
- The Flamingo room is spacious and great for playing board games to hide from the rain.

Wat een fijne B&B! De kamer was ruim en met liefde en aandacht ingericht. Het ontbijt was heerlijk en gevarieerd. En Michel en Selma zijn erg gastvrij en vriendelijk. Oh en 10 minuten lopen en je bent bij de zee. We hebben genoten! En zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Onze Flora kamer zag er fantastisch uit. Het bed ligt heerlijk. Het ontbijt ziet er mooi uit en bestaat uit lekkere en gezonde opties. Hier begint je dag goed.

My partner and I both living vegan for 7 years now have already spent two weekends at Villa la Vida. Now I went there for a third time with my non vegan parents. We all loved it! I am quite a professional cook/baker myself I'd say😁That is why I am also a little picky but I had nothing to complain about - their breakfast is just amazing! Toasties, pastries, yoghurt, pancakes, fruit, juice, ... Just lovely! My parents are open for vegan food and do want to change their eating habits but still my father sometimes is quite critical about it but even he was absolutely delighted :-)
Read moreWe stayed in the flamingo kamer which comes with a lovely balcony and I'd totally recommend to spend a little more money and stay in this room. It is really spacious and breakfast on the beautiful balcony is just the best way to start your day. But even if you book one of the other rooms you can still sit outside to enjoy your breakfast as they have a nice seating area in front of their house. Last time I stayed in the small Oase room which is perfectly sufficient if you are traveling on your own.
The rooms are decorated with attention to detail and they all have their unique style. The beds are super comfy, we all slept very well.
Biggest plus? Selma and Michel are very kind, attentive, communicative and open hosts: You feel how much love they put in their B&B and that makes it even more special.

Die Zimmer und das Haus sind wunderschön eingerichtet, mit einer kleinen Terrasse vor dem Haus(wunderschön für ein entspanntes Mittagessen in der Sonne).
Der Strand ist super schnell fußläufig erreichbar, Supermarkt und Ortsmitte ebenfalls direkt um die Ecke.
Eigene Lebensmittel können im Kühlschrank untergebracht werden, Besteck und Teller stehen zu Verfügung.
Wir waren im kleinen Doppelzimmer Palma - das wirklich klein war (es gab eine Kommode und Haken für Kleidung, aber keinen Kleiderschrank und wenig Abstellfläche im Bad). Auf den Bildern wirkte das Zimmer größer.
Leider haben wir im 1,40 Bett nicht so gut geschlafen (die Matratze war einfach im Vergleich zum Boxspringbett Zuhause nicht sehr gut). Daher gibt's dafür einen Stern Abzug.
Pros: Tolles Frühstück , Super freundliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber , Schön und gemütlich
Cons: Wir haben nicht so gut auf der Matratze geschlafen, Im kleinen Zimmer: wenig Platz für Kleidung

Eigenlijk wil je niet meer weg, want wat is er heerlijker dan elke morgen na een klop de deur de vriendelijke gezichten van de Michel en Selma te zien die de heerlijkste plantaardige ontbijtjes brengen. Elke dag anders, elke dag met aandacht en liefde bereid en elke dag om te smullen!

Vanuit de B&B loop je zo de gezellige winkel- en terrasjes straten in en binnen 10 minuten sta je op het strand.

Heerlijke ontbijtjes, elke dag anders. De kamer was precies groot genoeg, aardige ontvangst van de eigenaren en de hondjes😄Je loopt zo de duinen in of het strand op. Het is een heerlijk gevoel om op een plek te zijn waar jouw waarden ook belangrijk gevonden worden. Heel fijn weekend gehad!

While searching the internet to see if vegan hotels or bed & breakfasts exist in the Netherlands, we came across Villa La Vida in Egmond aan Zee.
Read moreVilla La Vida is a fully vegan bed & breakfast. They thought about everything. The food, the furniture, everything is fully vegan with a high focus on sustainability.
We booked the flamengo room, which also has a balcony. The room was super clean, we've never had another room that was as spotless as this one. The room was comfortable and the facilities were great.
The owners are vegan as well. They are very friendly and enthusiastic. Just really genuinely nice people.
Every morning you get a fully vegan home cooked breakfast. It's very varied, something different every day, but always healthy and made with a lot of love.
The location is perfect as well. A quiet street, but just a 5 minute walk from all the shops and a 10 minute walk to the beautiful beach.
Thank you so much for our pleasant stay and we will definitely visit again in the future.

Die Gastgeber waren wirklich super lieb und immer freundlich. Wir haben uns direkt wohl gefühlt!
Read moreWir haben auch direkt ein Parkticket bekommen, das war super praktisch. Wir wurden im Vorfeld gefragt, ob wir dieses benötigen und fertig! Bezahlt wird dann beim Gastgeber. Ganz entspannt!
Unser Highlight war das täglich frisch zubereitete vegane Frühstück, das auf dem Zimmer serviert wird. Super lecker und abwechslungsreich! Wir haben uns jeden Tag schon auf das nächste Frühstück gefreut!
Unser Zimmer war sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Kleines, aber vollkommen ausreichendes Badezimmer mit einer schönen Regendusche.
Das Zimmer ist an sich auch nicht riesig, aber es hat alles was man braucht. Für zwei Personen vollkommen ausreichend so!
Es gab genug Platz für Kleidung.
Auf der Etage gab es zudem einen Kühlschrank, den man sich mit anderen Gästen teilt. Teller und Besteck kann man sich jederzeit nehmen, um sich auch mal eben auf dem Zimmer eine Kleinigkeit zu Essen zu machen.
Von anderen wird kritisiert, dass es zu laut wäre, da es an einer Straße liegt (nicht alle Zimmer!), allerdings wird es ab den Abendstunden immer ruhiger draußen. Nachts ist so gut wie nichts mehr unterwegs. Wenn man keinen festen Schlaf hat, lohnt es sich aber vielleicht Ohrstöpsel mitzunehmen.
Die Lage ist super! Man ist quasi direkt auf der Einkaufsstraße, wo es Geschäfte zum Shoppen und einige Restaurants gibt. Der Strand ist auch ganz nah. Vielleicht 5 Min zu Fuß..
Wir haben wirklich nichts zu meckern!!

A dream coming true.. - Edit
Visiting this place was certainly a thing on my bucketlist. This week I finally was able to try this amazing B&B and I hope it won’t be the last time. We stayed in the beautifull flower room, with an amazing green view. Furthermore was the room very nice and eco-friendly decorated with natural materials and patterns.

The next day it even got better, because of the beautifull, varied breakfast we got. Which we could enjoy outside, with al their beautifull flowers.
The breakfast existed of warm tea, fresh orange juice, warm toast with avocado, mushrooms and sesame seeds, vegan yogurt with a smoothie made of berries (topped with granola with hempseeds), fresh berries and homemade bananabread. Can it even get better?
It could, the next day with a breakfast with just baked vegan chocolat croissants 🥐 and cinnamon rolls. As if that wasn’t enough goodness there were american vegan pancakes with syrup and fresh blueberries. Also there were very sweet strawberries, again fresh orange juice and vanille pudding with a lovely blueberry. We were so cared for by the owners.
Because the location is nearby the beach we could easily go there a couple times a day during our stay. Also there are many cute shops with a lot bohemian clothes and other beautiful things a couple of streets down the road.
In other words: we had an amazing short holiday and I think the secret ingredient for this happy time was: Villa la Vida 😊.

One word..wow😍👍🏼! This place and the lovely owners Selma and Michel make you feel at home immediately. Just a few metres walk from the beach and lovely shops and terraces.
Read moreBreakfast not only looks amazing but tastes like heaven! 🥰😋The rooms are very clean and nice decorated with of course only natural materials and not from animals. I slept like a baby and a beautiful bird sing in the tree near the balcony.
I would definitely recommend this place. Everything is made with love and care and you will have a great stay for sure!

This is the perfect place to stay in Egmond aan Zee. The owners Michel and Selma are super kind and welcoming and helpful to accomodate your (special) needs. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable, with great beds! The breakfast is delicious and almost everything is homemade by Selma, how good can it get?

The village, the dunes and the sea are all very nearby.

Selma en Michel zijn laagdrempelig benaderbaar, hetgeen erg prettig is. Zij denken actief mee in wat gasten nodig hebben voor een fijne vakantie.
Read moreWij waren hier ten tijde van corona. In de omgeving kan je eindeloos wandelen en fietsen. Er zijn voldoende vegan afhaalopties op loopafstand en in de nabijgelegen dorpen en steden.
In verband met het eten op de kamer ipv buitenshuis, is het aan te raden te kiezen voor de grotere kamers indien je met 2 personen bent. Dit geeft wat meer comfort.
