delish! - Edit
via roma has many great vegan options! we got the vegan falafel pita plate and the vegan beyond burger plate! both were fantastic! 🌱 the falafel and pitas are both made in house. my favorite part of the vegan burger is the vegan special sauce! they are a must stop if you’re in north conway!

Vegan pizza and more (but holy cow does the service suck) - Edit
Plenty of vegan options aside from vegan cheese: falafel; grape leaves with hummus; Greek salad with a vegan feta substitute. It’s nice to have a handful of options!
Read moreThe downside: the place is a chaotic, unorganized disaster. Staff seems completely unaware of what they are doing. While waiting for my food I witnessed two people who got pick-up come back because their order was wrong. I heard the owner berate the kid running the register because he lost a bunch of orders. A random child is running around barefoot (!!). Cashiers are taking orders and payment from customers and THEN telling them it will be an hour’s wait. A few people up and left because they were seated then ignored.
With a bigger staff and better communication, this place would have gotten a higher rating.

Yummy vegan food - Edit
They are still having problems with being short-staffed. But once they took our order, it didn’t not take long to get our food. I had the Falafel Plate (falafel, grape leaves, hummus, tomato and cucumber salad, pita bread & tahini dressing). My husband had a mushroom pizza. They have Daiya Cheese. Everything was delicious!

Quite good falafel - Edit
Close at 7pm every night as of this writing. We got there just in time. They are super understaffed due to Covid but are operating like work horses and the food is good. They offer vegan cheese for any of their pizzas but there is a hefty up-charge for this. My falafel platter (without the tziki) was really good but wish I would have gotten more pita for the large amount of hummus.

Pleasant Staff, Good Pizza - Edit
Gluten Free Pizza did not taste like cardboard, as many do. They had vegan cheese, and several veggie options. The waitress was pleasant, the atmosphere was nice. We were traveling, and due to the time of year, our choices were limited. But we weren't sorry we stopped her, we had a nice experience.

Cons: Wish they'd sway Impossible Burger for Beyond, Menu could be better labled

Mediterranean Vegan Options - Edit
Their homemade falafel is delicious! Vegan options include their Veg Head pizza (can be made vegan with Daiya cheese), their Impossible burger (with or without Daiya cheese), and falafel pita with hummus and tahini sauce.

Pita Bread is GOOD - Edit
I had the pizza, falafal sandwich, and hummus. Pizza was ok with the daiya cheese, a little light on the cheese. I got the falafal sandwich with just hummus and lettuce. I really liked the pita bread. The to go order of hummus was kind of small for the large portion but pretty tasty. I was here for a work and got delivery both times I ordered from here and it was super quick and the delivery driver was very friendly.

I love Via Roma! - Edit
Via Roma is an amazing little establishment that has something for everybody. The owners, Cindy and Mo are very knowledgeable of the vegan lifestyle, and the manager is vegetarian. In the past year, they have really stepped up their game! They started offering vegan cheese (Daiya Mozzarella) which can be used on pizzas AND CALZONES (*vegans rejoice*). They also have a vegan meatball sub, an amazing falafel wrap, stuffed grape leaves. AND they serve The Impossible Burger, which comes with a tasty vegan friendly creamy sauce and faux cheese. I would highly recommend this place as an option, especially if you are in mixed company. Good for vegans and meet eaters alike.

so many options! - Edit
Via Roma has improved a LOT recently. There's a big sign encouraging customers to make the pizza vegan (I think they use daiya cheese) and the staff very knowledgeable and willing to make swaps on combo dishes to make them vegan. I love the pizza, falafel, and stuffed grape leaves!

Not The Best For Vegans - Edit
While this restaurant does have some vegetarian / vegan options on the menu it can be difficult ordering because nothing is clearly labeled. You could get a pizza with no cheese or plain pasta with sauce but it is nothing special. I appreciate them having any options but I'm not sure it warrants this listing on Happy Cow. This might be a good stop if you have kids or if you are in a pinch. I ordered a large takeout order. The pasta / pizza were ok. I also tried a garden salad which was also ok, nothing special. The hummus plate was odd and needed more crunchy veggies to dip in it. I tried to order it gluten free but still received some pita bread on the side. I asked for everything with no dairy and I also received some garlic bread which could have had butter so we did not eat it but I hate wasting food. I'm not totally blaming the restaurant for this as I think they don't advertise themselves as a vegan or vegetarian friendly establishment. Again offering pasta sauce without butter shouldn't qualify an establishment for a Happy Cow listing. It can make ordering difficult and require a lot of substitutions and changes. For me I prefer restaurants where the options are clearly labeled and there is an ease of ordering. I wish they would step up their vegan game as I can see it has potential! They do have falafel but I wonder if it is cooked in the same oil as the meat?

Able to get food in an area with few options - Edit
My family and I were having trouble finding vegan options in Conway, NH. We settled on just getting pasta and at the first establishment we went to, after communicating our needs, ordering, and sitting a long time, we were finally told that the marinara sauce had butter in it. Then we found Via Roma. While it is not a vegan establishment, the owner, Cindy, and her husband, Mohammad, were super nice and understanding. The marinara sauce was vegan and they had falafel on the menu to boot. Cindy spoke to us for a bit also about how she and her husband are doing their part to cut back on meat intake. She is also friendly with the owner of Taste of Life Cafe in the area - so, again, she has a clue unlike what we were finding elsewhere. The food was good and honestly, because of the kindness of Cindy and Mohammad, we would go back and do recommend this place to others.
