Good Breakfast but a bit too oily - Edit
Had the Berry go round smoothie and the full breakfast.
Read moreThe smoothie was good and refreshing.
The full breakfast was good, but the hash browns were super oily and it left my stomach uncomfortably full for the next few hours, the sausage seemed like it was deep fried too so it didn't help, but, it did taste good, loved the mushrooms, the beans and the scrambled tofu. The bread was not toasted but it was buttered so that's interesting.

Amazing Breakfast - Edit
I had the best vegan breakfast that I have ever had here; fench toast with a side of scrambled tofu, hashbrowns and 'bacon'. I can't wait to go back.

AVOID this place - Edit
Ordered food from here for takeaway. Ordered Cheezeburger with sweet potato salad, just to find out that they have put cheap and disgusting chips instead of sweet potato chips. Decided to get a biscoff cake as well which was dry and as extra there was a long piece of hair. Photo attached. AVOID !!!!

Very good food - Edit
This vegan restaurant serves a range of dishes, tasty but still reasonably priced. They also have a good number of interesting smoothies and vegetable juices on the menu. I had some seitan skewers and a melon smoothie -- can recommend!

Came here for a hungover brunch with some meat-eater friends. Everyone loved what they ordered! The full English is the perfect size, good value and incredibly tasty. I wish I had room for the delicious looking cakes!

Average afternoon tea - Edit
We went here as a treat for afternoon tea but it was ok and nothing special. The cakes are small and the savoury parts were a bit odd.

We stumbled upon the Vertigo cafe (on Cross Street) and grabbed a quick lunch. The bagel was very tasty and the Biscoff cake was sumptuous. Plant based food be so delicious - here is the proof.

Disappointing - Edit
Food on the menu sounds great.
Read moreBao buns were okay but the buns themselves are a bit stodgy/chewy and not fluffy. Mac and cheese has a very thin sauce instead of normal thick and creamy mac, also has blended spinach in, makes it kinda eh.
Red velvet cake was completely stale and dry and had hardened crispy buttercream icing (which tasted like plastic chemicals), couldn't eat most of it, it would literally just crumble under my fork. It's such a shame, I had such high hopes especially for the cake :(
The one good thing is their coffee, from local roastery. However their soya milk is sub par and watery, even that let my coffee down. I have the same coffee at home and it's much better with a good milk.
Pros: Good coffee, Fully vegan
Cons: Completely off stale cake , Average food

Fantastic afternoon tea - Edit
We had a delicious afternoon tea here, with NY reuben bagel, tofu 'egg mayo' crostini, cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches and cheddar and pickle sandwiches. Sweets were lemon cheesecake, rhubarb and custard trifle, chocolate cherry brownie, strawberry and elderflower tart, and scones with jam and cream. All fresh and delicious. Would 100% recommend.

Good food, bad service - Edit
Food was nice, and reasonable value. Would like to try more, but service was a shocker.
Read moreI’m sure it was a bad day, but the pace of the service would stop me going back. Two members of staff and two tables to serve, but it took 15 minutes to take my order! One member of staff was sat at a table doing nothing for ten minutes before getting up to make the coffee I ordered. Avoid if you are in a rush!

Great atmosphere, lovely staff & very tasty food - Edit
First visit last night and my friend and I loved it. I’ve been to the Cross Street branch which is also really good. This one has more of a restaurant feel. Staff were welcoming, attentive and helpful and the food is reasonably priced and imaginative. It was great to be able to have small plates so we could try various dishes. Lovely chilled out atmosphere too. Highly recommend!

Sandwiches, soup, mains, cakes, coffee... - Edit
This location of Vertigo is in the First Street development. Great menu, several things I want to try, besides the delicious-looking sandwiches. First visit, I chose the pie-and-mash meal, a mushroom bourguignon, with gravy and pickled red cabbage. The pie was delicious. I know pickled things are good for digestion, but I would rather have a small garnish-size serving of this quite sour cabbage, rather than a side-size serving, and instead have a different vegetable as the side (even carrots would do, or mashed turnip or…). I took away a piece of cake - a sweet treat and a whole-wheat, jam-filled croissant, which I zapped 10 seconds - delicious! - good, flaky pastry. Second visit, I had the cheese burger with added side salad - a really good, cheesy burger and “salad” of roasted sweet potato, peppers, onion and bean sprouts in a nice orangey dressing. I brought away a flapjack. I would like to go again for the breakfast menu. Brunch is available on weekends. Prices are higher to dine in. There are two locations in Manchester. I like this one better.

We went for an early dinner here pre exhibition launch and really enjoyed it. Really friendly staff, the burger was immense! Up there in top 3 burgers I’ve ever had. Good selection of cakes and the hot choc was delish too.
