Tasty Vegan Swedish Meatballs - Edit
Perfect authentic vegan version of swedish meatballs. Perfect portion on a cute quiet street. Nice service too. Would recommend!

Overrated - Edit
I ordered meatballs with mashed potatoes and my brother tried the buffet.
Read moreThe portion was an okay size for me as a girl in my 20s. The meal was tasty. Not too special, but it was good. However, I think that there could have been more veggies. For 200 kr I expect a little bit more than just 4 pickle slices. I think bread or a side salad could be included in that meal.
I asked her if the salad buffet was included, which I think is a fair question. She said ”a la carte is a la carte and buffet is buffet”, which I felt was a bit condescending. She also added, when my brother ordered the buffet that he can’t share his food with me (which I understand), but again just came off as a bit rude.
My brother tried the buffet and thought it was a solid 2-3 of 5. He said it was okay, it worked, but wasn’t that tasty and it felt a little weird. He said it didn’t feel like restaurant food.

Vegan swedish food - Edit
We had the vegoballs, and the typical swedish shrimp toast. Both delicious. The burger and the bowl is also really good.

I got my Swedish Meatballs! - Edit
Wonderful spot in Gamla Stan for a vegan dinner. I really wanted Swedish meatballs and they had them served with the traditional mashed potatoes and lingonberries. I also got the BBQ bowl. Location was great--beautiful outdoor seating. Food was all amazing.

No Buffet but Great Meatballs - Edit
We went here for dinner on a Friday evening. There was indoor seating for about 20 people and no outdoor seating. Although the place was pretty small it was almost empty. There were only four other people there. Disheartening for a Friday evening.
Read moreThe music was reggae covers of pop classics, which I think did not really match with the somewhat stylish interior design. I still liked it though.
There was no buffet which was disappointing. There were a lot of things to choose from on the menu; mostly Swedish dishes but also some international ones.
I had the Swedish meatballs (189 SEK ) and we shared a piece of chocolate cake (89 SEK). It all tasted really well.
The biggest issues with my visit to Verte was that it was so empty and that there was no buffet. Everything else - the service, the food, the music, the interior design - was nice. I hope they get more visitors again, I think they deserve it.

Local flavors, global take - Edit
All the food we tried here blew our minds, would have been worried it wasn't vegan if we hadn't explicitly came to a vegan restaurant.
Read moreMy favorite was the seasonal soup (cream of Jerusalem artichoke soup) but every single dish was great. It was wonderfully creamy and smooth, and a generous portion on top of that
The shrimp toast tasted of the sea and fresh dill. It was generously topped with fresh herbs, vegan caviar, and perfectly pickled onions. A must try
The Vegoballs were packed with flavor and the perfect meal to have in Stockholm. We were having a hard time finding swedish food that was also vegan, so this and the shrimp toast were very welcome offerings. The ratios on this dish were however a little disappointing; lots of mashed potatoes for not a lot of vegoballs or gravy.
Pasta of the day when we came was lasagna, fresh and veggie forward, while still being substational and flavorful.
Caprese salad was nice, the tomatoes were very fresh however I wish there was more basil/greens. The mozzarella wasn't my favorite vegan cheese, it was more of a feta but we still ate every last bite and wanted more...
The chocolate cake was rich, moist, with a nice crust to it. Presented beautifully and the perfect finish to a great meal.
Pros: Convenient location, Authentic flavors
Cons: Pricey, Mediocre service

Expensive and rather boring - Edit
We had two bowls. One of them (in the picture) is the „toonish“ bowl. If I knew that it means some sweet sauce with a light tuna taste, I will order something else. The bowl itself was also rather boring. Almost no protein in the bowl.
Read moreThe waitress was not very friendly and we waited for quite a long time for everything. Also, very expensive for such a small bowl. I will not come back.
Pros: Everything vegan
Cons: Expensive , There are better alternatives in Stockholm

Good, but I had higher expections - Edit
I love that it's an all vegan restaurant, there's not enough of those. Maybe that and the prices set my expectations too high. It's definitely a good restaurant, but I expected a bit more.
Read moreI had the lasagna, which I was lucky was on the menu that day and I had been looking for for so long, but I found it a bit lacking: the source around it was sweet and the center of the lasagna was on the spicy side, it was a bit weird for me.
I sampled a little from the buffet, which my partner was having, and it was quite decent. Although it's a bit too much how much more they charge for it at dinner time when you can have the exact same things for lunch.
In the end it's a good place but I find it a bit lacking when considering the price tag. But maybe I'm just cheap and this in the center of Stockholm after all.
Pros: Fully vegan, Good service
Cons: Pricy

We had a really great vegan dinner here recently. We ordered the dumplings (pierogi) & the vegan meatballs with mash. Everything was delicious and a fraction of the price we expected as Stockholm is expensive.

Hidden gem - Edit
This place is a bit hidden in Gamla stan as it is not on a Street that many travels by, but was a great gem for lunch. It is not too much people and all the food tasted great and the personnel was lovely. Would get five stars if the buffe was a bit more balanced as there was a couple of dishes that was not following the same theme.

First place I ate in Stockholm just off the plane and I was delighted by the food. Only had the one salad dish but it was huge and delicious. Couldn't finish it but certainly didn't need to eat much later!

Delicious food! - Edit
We had this for lunch yesterday. Ordered the vegan Swedish balls with mashed potatoes and lingonberry. It was delicious. Even my non-vegan friend said the balls were really good. The mashed potatoes were soft and rich.
Read moreWe also ordered the dumplings, which had a mushroom and sauerkraut filling, topped with fried shallots. Superb.
Our waitress was really friendly, however maybe we came at a weird time in the afternoon (3PM), there was no one to greet us for the first couple of minutes. Sadly the location is also in a quiet part of the old town, so maybe it doesn’t get food traffic. The interior decor needs some work as well to be more inviting.
Besides that, I’d like to come again in the future!
Pros: Delicious Swedish dishes, Vegan, Friendly staff
Cons: Interior decor and vibe needs work
