Glad we tried it! - Edit
We were aiming for grumpy mamas vegan cafe but it was closed for winter, so pleased we tried this one on the walk around! Always worried options means one or two and not actually great meals (cheese free pizza!) but this was anything but.

Good value prices and helpful staff who made a meal vegan for me subbing stuff out, despite there being a great vegan offering already (I really wanted that Buddha bowl!)
Excellent cake cabinet! Including locally small run made chocolates which were stunning and not run of the mill
Definitely recommend the visit!

Beautiful café in the center of monchique - Edit
We stayed here after a hiking trip and the atmosphere was really nice. We had tasty falafel, toasted bread with red beet hummus, wedges and milkshakes.

Enjoyed a burrito and turmeric latte here. Lovely place. Sadly the vegan flapjack I bought to takeaway was mouldy, but they’ve offered to replace it with a free drink too

Best smoothies ever! - Edit
Lovely place for breakfast or lunch - quite a few vegan options. They do milk alternatives for coffees etc, and a vegan cake and vegan ice cream (Ben and jerries tub). The menu is well labelled too. The green smoothie I had was the best smoothie I’ve ever had! The service was quite slow when we were there (a Monday afternoon in April) - took 50 mins for food to come out after we ordered.

cozy fireplace - Edit
We enjoyed a vegan cappuccino, vegan hot chocolate and a vegan burrito while we sat on the couches close to the little fireplace. Felt cosy and warm during the colder weather in december.

This cafe was lovely in the middle of a square. The menu had clearly labelled vegan options and all the smoothies (apart from the one that specifics milk) contain apple juice. It was very busy so the food took a while to come but I would come back when it’s a bit quieter.

Great Ambiente - Edit
They had some delicious vegan meals but you needed to ask for them (not marked in menu). It is directly in the center of the town and has beautiful Ambiente. I had the vegan breakfast burrito which was delicious.

Super cappuccino! - Edit
Sun trap eating area in the square in Monchique. Had a couple of cappuccinos with oat milk. Coconut milk also available. Vegan flapjack was v tasty. There were other items I think on the main menu. Very friendly staff too!
