HUGE Range of Products! - Edit
When stepping into Vegonia Wholefoods, I did not expect this little shop on Porthmadog High Street to have such a wide selection. I am certain one could easily do the majority of their regular food shop here if they really wanted to (fresh produce would need to be purchased elsewhere).
Read moreThe stock they hold includes but is in no way limited to dried fruits, baking supplies, supplements, spices, tinned foods including dahls and beans, snacks such as crisps, chocolate and cakes, plant milks, teas, freezer goods such as ice cream and mock meats, cupboard staples such as cereals, couscous, quinoa and crackers, personal grooming including hair dyes and baby wipes, body and hair washes, oral hygiene products, cleaning supplies for the home, cooking sauces and a fridge with items such as tofu and vegan cheeses. They stock many brands, including Faith In Nature, Marigold, Vego, Yogi Tea, Blue Dragon, Beyond Meat, This, Just Natural, Meridian, Kallo, Biota Nutri, Love Raw, Suma and Oatly. In addition to this, they also have a 'New Products' section at the front of the shop, which I felt was a really nice touch.
Vegonia Wholefoods is clean, well lit, and the stock is thoughtfully organised, which makes the shop easy to navigate and products easy to find. The woman on the till (potentially the business owner) was extremely informative and was nice to talk to, so I encourage speaking with her if you need some help. You can find something here whether you're just after a snack or an avid cook after a range of ingredients. I will absolutely be visiting again soon!

Love love love. - Edit
I absolutely love this shop. I always see new and interesting products I’ve never seen elsewhere, even in big stores like Unicorn or Eighth Day in Manchester. You would not expect a vegan store of this bredth and quality in a small town like Porthmadog.

Here you can find anything you are probably missing in the big supermarkets. Very special sweets&chocolates, snacks, cosmetics, dry goods,...everything! Also vegan dog treats and food (benevo). Most of it also ecological.

This seems hugely unfair. One star for a shop that is fully vegan? I’ve always found the staff lovely and professional.

Surprising find in a not so vegan friendly town - Edit
It was a nice surprise to find a vegan shop in Porthmadog - the town doesn't exactly have a lot of options for eating out and the supermarkets are on the smaller side. So to have a dedicated shop is great. I found a couple of items there I've never spotted anywhere else but a lot of similar lines to other such shops. The lady serving both days I visited was nice and chatty and offered up a couple of suggestions for purchases. Well worth a visit if you're in this part of Wales.

A lovely little health food store that is all vegan. They have cupboard, fridge and freezer items. My highlight is the sheese Red Leicester block. A very handy store to find niche vegan items.

Amazing selection of treats and staples - Edit
Squeezes in a huge range of wholefoods, treats, substitutes, household items and toiletries. Some quirky products here that I haven't seen in any other health stores. Some reviews say it's expensive - if you're comparing it to big chains like Holland & Barrett then obviously it's a bit pricier, but I think it's fair prices for an independent store in my experience.

Overpriced - Edit
Yes, a great stock of vegan products in an area that is short of vegan ranged foods however, the prices were extortionate....£8.95 for B12 vitamins....that I was looking for. Sorry, only for people who can afford these prices. I’m not prepared to pay them unfortunately.

Lovely shop - Edit
I didn't find all my favourite vegan brands and items here, but they have a very good selection of food and non-food products. We bought some Sheeses (Isle of Bute), cold cuts, toothpaste, pasta and ice cream here.

Great store with some exciting finds - Edit
I love this store. I've visited twice in the last year when I've been staying in the area and have been hugely impressed with the range of vegan goods on offer. I live in Manchester and am used to being able to find pretty much anything but I came across quite a few things in Vegonia that I've not seen before. I also thought that the prices were good.

Wow. A vegan shop! And a lifesaver - Edit
This shop is amazing. It's entirely vegan and has an amazing selection of food. The freezer was full of treats and some great vegan cheeses and spreads. They even have vegan cheese n onion crisps. I was impressed on price too. Certainly compared favourably to stores in Manchester. North Wales is beautiful but vegan choice is not that widespread, as a tourist here this shop was a lifesaver. High recommended.

Entirely vegan but recently too pricy - Edit
Well stocked vegan health food and supplements but prices have recently gone through the roof! Could be so much better and expand into fresh food and organic veg, but seems if it's not on single wholesaler's list they won't stock it. Regret to say that some staff could definately improve their attitude and general appearance too. A bit off- putting when handling food products. Shame.
Read morePros: Purport to only stock Vegan products, Very wide range if products and supplements, Usually parking available on street outside
Cons: Very expensive (especially Gluten-Free), Staff appearance and demeanour off-putting, Don't sell fresh produce
