Lots of different stuff to choose from, good cooked pretty well. I had the Mi Goreng which was good. We went on a busy evening, barely a table when we arrived and we were in and out in an hour.

I will say every time I have been here the service does lack a little and I'm always left feeling like I am bothering the staff which is an unpleasant experience. Its very attitudey & rude.
My partner is super friendly & they were even rude to her for no reason at all! We didnt ask for anything other than ordering our meal but were treated so rudely tonight. It has been both of our experience here, over the years. I dont know if we will keep coming back. Especially now there are so many other vegan options around.

Vegie Bar is great. Have been going here for years. Mostly their meals are tasty and healthy. The atmosphere is great. They do nice drinks both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. Very much worth a visit if you are in the area.

This is one of the most horrible services I have seen. More than 1 hour waiting time, sitting at a communal table, treated like a machine. Save your money, cause the the taste of this is terrible

heya!! I'm pretty much a raw vegan too!! I eat raw probably about 90-99% of the time. I went here yesterday and got the buddha bowl without quinoa which was 100% raw :) also, vegie bar has a huge selection of raw deserts too :))

Last night I celebrated my daughters 18th birthday at the vegie bar and what a disappointment it was. We had booked well in advance with a 8 pm - 10pm sitting allocation. We were seated at 8.30pm. The service was appalling with us having to ask several times for a drink order to be taken. The staff were inattentive and genuinely looked disinterested. Both my daughter and I are vegan and we really wanted to show case this place as an example of how good vegan/vegetarian food could be. It really felt the opposite. When paying I had to remind them I had paid a deposit, then they had to go and find out what it was, then I got s credit card surcharge added on what was an expensive bill with terrible service. I also rang this morning to complain I was told someone would ring me back around noon. Still waiting. I will never attend this restaurant again. I work hard for my money and you do not deserve my business. If I could give you 1 star I would

This was a great little place, and we filled up on lots of delicious food! We had the burger “better than a Big Mac,” fried mushroom nuggets, and roast vegetable gnocchi. The mushroom nuggets were a treat and the roast vegetable gnocchi was the best! The service was also friendly and the restaurant had a great vibe and layout.

I've been to Vegie Bar many times over the years but the quality is sadly inconsistent. I've had some excellent meals and some very poor quality ones, the most recent being a very substandard Big Mac burger which was barely edible. I won't be rushing back any time soon when there are so many other eateries who are not resting on their laurels.

Has Become Boring, Stale and Out-dated - Edit
This place has lost its Mojo. Their menu is boring with the type of 'been there, done that' meals. The type of stuff everyone is doing, too common and un-creative. Place fills up because of its name and because it's been around for a long time. Staff unpleasant and rude. Definitely not recommended.

Went here after receiving zero service and rude attitude at Smith & Daughters, Veggie bar was busy, we were served straight away, offered a table, and ordered within a few minutes, ten mins later we had meals. Brilliant! Very good service, the meals were very nice but lacked a little flavour. The gnocchi would be nicer if it was pan fried, it was a bit soggy. The stir fry was a bit too crunchy, and the tahini on it was a bit weird. The sticky date made up for it. Overall very happy, would come back.

We had high hope after reading the glowing reviews, however, the better than Big Mac burger was not that great and the original stir fry was average either for the price tag. The Royale cake was pretty good though. Maybe we just come in a busy time. Great vibe and deco.

I’m giving the VB five-plus stars for their incredibly delicious vegan cakes; and two stars for their meals. The only ppl I know who like this establishment are non-veg*ns. My perspective is: great for takeaway vegan cakes (berry cheesecake and chocolate brownies are standouts), but don’t bother eating in.

Great place. Only just managed to get two seats during a busy lunchtime - and we went there early. Pizzas Margherita and Funghi were excellent choices. Good selection of teas too. Will definitely visit again next time we’re in Melbourne.
