RECO! 1 of my fav caifan and zai beehoon places 🥰 - Edit
been a loyal patron of this stall for years, even before i turned vegan! one of my fav stalls for vegetarian economic bee hoon or rice. HUGE portion and super value-for-money!
Read moreusually sells out early (around noon), especially on the 1st & 15th of the lunar month so do visit early to avoid disappointment 🤍
food is not overly oily (depends on the dish) and taste is pretty decent compared to a bunch of other stalls i’ve tried.
i highly recommend the eggplant/bitter gourd/braised firm tofu combo to go with brown rice. also love the curry veg and pumpkin. approx $3-4 for that huge yummy portion of good ☺️ GET THE $1 SPRING ROLLS TOO. ONE OF THE BEST ONES IVE TRIED.
my only complaint is that food comes in styrofoam boxes/plates so do BYOB! (i usually bring my own tingkat haha) (and also the stall aunty can be a bit grumpy but oh well, the food is good so 😂)
Pros: huge portion and value-for-money, option to bring your own container
Cons: single-use cutlery and plates

Oily, Salty and dead insects found in food often! - Edit
90% of the vegetable dishes are very oily till you can feel a thick layer of oil on your lips! All the stir fried vegetables are very salty!
Read moreI’ve experienced many incidents of having a variety of dead insects on my food: from cockroach to flies etc! I’ve screenshoot and reported to Singapore Food Agency multiple of times but have not seen any improvements in their cleanliness aspect!

Pretty Standard Economy Rice - Edit
If you are hungry and low on funds this place is for you. It's 2.70 for their standard plate. Add a dollar for mee fen. It's nothing special but it's cheap and decent.

Just like any Vegetarian Economical Rice Stall - Edit
This Vegetarian Stall located in Kovan Market and Food Centre at #01-133. They've more dishes compare to the other vegetarian stall - Jin Shun Zhai (金顺斋) at #01-146 which is directly opposite it.
Read moreWhat you can expect from here is almost the same as any other vegetarian economical rice stall in Singapore. Pricing reasonable and quite tasty.
With two vegetarian stalls in the same food centre, the good thing is that you'll still have something to eat if one of them are not open.
Alternatively, you can pop by to Vegetarian Express at the Kovan Heartland Mall, which is just beside this food centre.
