Not great for vegans - Edit
I don't know if the vegetarian dishes are as bland as the vegan ones but nothing made me want to come back again. If at least the price was lower...

A beast and a dog - Edit
I went to Vegetalia Raval for lunch with my family. As we were about to pay the bill and leave the restaurant a woman arrived with a very playful and jumpy dog for a beer. She started aggressively pushing the dog to the ground as s/he would not settle. She was pulling the dogs’ legs to lay him/her down. She was shouting at the dog. It was not a great scene.
Read moreAs I could not stand looking at the abuse, I went over to this woman’s table and asked her to stop handling the dog in an aggressive way. After that I returned to my table.
This woman then engaged in an abusive tirade against me which included shouting across and calling me names like idiot, and crazy. She told me that I am not from Spain and so should go home. She went on and on and on which eventually got other customers involved asking her to stop. She kept asking me to come over to her table and started taking photos of me and my family. This went on for some time and she continued to aggressively handle the dog at the same time which included kneeling down, pulling the dogs’ legs from underneath him/her so that s/he would stay down on the ground. There was no way of having a two-way conversation with someone so angry so I refused to engage.
What made me write this review against Vegetalia Raval is that some of staff from the restaurant appear to know who this woman is. They came to our table and expressed their disappointment that people can’t get along. This obviously has nothing to do with people not getting along but with the fact that a woman comes to a vegetarian/ vegan restaurant and abuses her dog whilst everybody around is eating their lunch and the staff are fine with this sort of behaviour. One of the staff also tried to justify her behaviour by saying that it was the dog’s fault, that there was something wrong with the dog, and that this is her way of controlling the dog. This dog obviously needs serious training but s/he will never be calm by being pushed and pulled.
If the restaurant’s staff don’t care about animals they should at least try to pretend to do so because selling vegan food and animals being aggressively pulled and pushed by staff’s friends do not work. It’s simple as that.
As we left the restaurant this woman followed me and my family. She eventually caught up with us and continued to call me names in the middle of the street. She was very aggressive, waiving her hands at us. She also pretended to call the police but then walked away. All very baffling.
It’s a shame, really.
Pros: nice outdoor space, vegan food is ok

Vegetarian place with vegan options - Edit
There are quite a few vegan options in Vegetalia but I went for the classic patatas bravas. It seemed that the potatoes were not freshly baked but the portion was huge and the sauce was tasty too. Super filling and cheap. The ramen soup was good but it was not really ramen as it should taste. There were rice noodles like from pho for example. Excellent nachoz with vegan cheese. And really good sangria here, we think about coming back just for the nachos and drink sometimes.

Some of the dishes lack flavor and the cakes are often dry. Nice fresh juices though and very reasonably priced

One of the better burgers ive head, i had to ask twice if this burger was actually vegan. Nice, friendly staff and nice seating area on the courtyard. A bit pricy but definitely worth it.

We went there twice. One for a snack (vegan strudel and hot chocolates) and an other time for dinner. The staff is nice, you can choose from several plant based milk. Large choice of vegetarian dishes, with vegan options.

Nice spot while walking around - Edit
This was my first vegan meal in Spain. It was good but was definitely surpassed by other spots I went. Great little spot to stumble upon while walking around, though. I ordered the appetizer sampler and a seitan burger. I wasn’t super impressed with the app platter and would probably just order the specific apps I want next time. The burger had good flavor but fell apart pretty fast and turned into a fork and knife situation. It did come with a really delicious brown sauce.
