nice asian style restaurant - Edit
Vegeme is a nice little restaurant in Westend. Many dishes were either vegan or could be made vegan upon request. Ordered the dumplings which tasted ok (not overly amazing but just fine) and the rice in the soyabean curd which was really tasty and well seasoned. The dishes weren't overly expensive and the service was good

one of Brisbane’s best - Edit
My partner and I have been to vegeme maybe 40 times since we met. We are both vegan and it’s our favourite place to eat in Brisbane. Never had any troubles and the food is always amazing. Vegeme is one of Brisbane’s best vegan restaurants.

We expected it to be way better - Edit
A vegan friend recommended us this restaurant. We went for a late lunch. In the menu everything seems to be fried, only a few dishes are not, so we shared the radish cakes, the drum sticks and the boiled dumplings (to balance the fried stuff): radish cakes were ok, drum sticks were not very tasty and dumplings were ok but we tried much better. In general food was greasy and tasteless.. As a results we had stomach ache and acidity all the arvo..
Read moreThe waitress wasn't very nice and even if we said we were going to share the food, she didn't bring a plate each: very poor service.
It may be cheap but still it doesn't worth it, we wonder why it is always busy as we wouldn't go again. Better try the Sri Lanka restaurant right next door, many vegan options and a way better quality food and service.
Cons: Tasteless and greasy food, Poor service

good vegan option for Brisbane - Edit
There are lots of veggie Asian places but this one had a pretty extensive menu and some items I hadn't seen at other places e.g. okonomiyaki. I was pretty keen to try the range and it all arrived fast and was fresh, not too expensive either.

Filling fresh Asian food - Edit
Nice chilled restaurant with a set menu of Asian dishes, but the staff asks for the customers' opinion on the newst dishes they are thinking about adding to the menu.
Read moreThe soup I ordered was large and cheap, it tasted very fresh and was served boiling hot, but I would have liked a bit more tofu in there. Very friendly staff

Pros: Fresh and flavorful, Friendly staff, Large portions for the price
Cons: I expected more tofu in my soup

Best veg*n place in the West End area - Edit
Lots of interesting, creative, and tasty dishes, Koreanesque for the most part, most of which can be made vegan. Super friendly staff. Especially good spicy dishes and dumplings.

Great Asian inspired dishes - Edit
I have eaten here twice. First time I had a noodle dish, the second time I'd just come back from Japan and was craving Okonomiyaki. The Okonomiyaki rivalled anything I had in Japan.

Simple dishes that were perfectly executed. I'm not a huge fan of dumplings, but I ordered the pan-fried option and was not disappointed. I got full before I was finished eating so had the curry puffs I ordered the next day - they were definitely the star of the show. Staff were friendly

Hearty Asian vegan lunch - Edit
I almost forget how much I miss Asian food until I had it on New Year's Day. Almost the only restaurant opened on a public holiday (thanks god!), our omni friend enjoyed their food a lot too!! To be honest, I can make better dumplings than theirs, but hands down to the generous portion of laksa and the divine deep fried suji!!!

My favourite place in Brisbane - Edit
Since first visiting Vegeme a few months ago, I can't help but go back regularly. The food is delicious, without that emphasis on health food that often permeates vegetarian and vegan restaurants (although you can still order healthy food if you want). The service is excellent, the people who run it are really nice, and will always fill up your glass. The décor is modern, but inviting. And the prices are incredibly reasonable.
Read moreTo anyone thinking of trying this place out, do it. You won't regret it. I highly recommend ordering the suji in all its delicious deep-fried glory.
Pros: Delicious food, Low prices, Great Service

Incredibly good - Edit
Came here for a light lunch for 2 earlier today. We shared three small plates suji, salt and pepper oyster mushrooms, and curry puffs. All the food was good, but the suji in particular (tasted rather like KFC style chicken pieces but better) was amazing. Really really amazingly good. The three dishes came to under $20, or less than $10 per person for an amazing meal.
Read moreThe staff were very friendly and helpful, the place had a great ambiance, and the food from other people's tables also smelt delicious. I couldn't recommend it highly enough, just wish they'd open up a store in Melbourne!

Delicious vegetable based cuisine - Edit
You'll find Vegeme by looking for the large carrot which is their symbol. This is symbolic of a menu which really focuses on what can be done with vegetables, with mock products only making the odd appearance (but you can find them if you want them).
Read moreThe food is Asian themed, but with dishes from Japan, Korea and elsewhere, it's unlike anything else in the area. Some mains include Bibimbap, Pan Fried Inari, Noodle Soup, Dumpling soup, and the usual starters like boiled or fried dumplings, radish cake, miso soup, edamame, and salt and pepper tofu.
So far I've been three times, and everything I've had has been fantastic. The food is impeccably served, with the Bibimbap, Pan Friend Inari and the boiled dumplings, being the standout dishes so far.
Definitely a place to visit, they really love vegetables.
The have some al fresco tables outside, and then enough space for about 30 people inside.
Pros: Vegetable based, Healthy, Bibimbap!
Cons: Be very clear if you are vegan
