Casual fantastic

We were jetlagged and starving. This was perfect. Large range of dishes, all reasonably priced and served quickly.

I’d give 6 ⭐️s if I could!

Incredible food. So delicious! They’ve got a massive list of “small dishes” or starters if you like - get the corn fritters omggg 🤤 - we also had the fried rice dish and one of their satay noodle soups - absolutely incredible! Large portions so don’t let your eyes be bigger than your belly! Will 100% be going back!

Pros: LOADS of vegan options , Massive portions, Quick Service

Cons: That it’s not ALL vegan 😉

Fresh but bland

Food tastes super fresh which is nice but taste is super bland and all you can taste is pepper. I had the fried rice, gyozas and spring rolls.

Pros: Cheap, Good portion size

Cons: Not much flavour, All you can taste is pepper

South Brisbane Vego

A lot of their dishes look interesting (and very reasonably priced), but I only had time and stomach space to try their laksa. Absolutely huge - easily enough for two plus (2 ) diners - but unfortunately the quality did not match the quantity: very bland with no subtlety of flavours only made palatable with a bucketload of chilli and a squeeze of lemon. Perhaps the dishes that are already vegan (rather than ‘vegan option’) would produce better results.

Pros: huge servings, friendly service , central location

Cons: bland aussified laksa, split shifts only (like most venues in this city), not 100% vegan

Ok

Great selection of food and staff were so lovely. I really wanted to love this place as had heard great things, but I just found the food so oily that I couldn't taste it and couldn't finish my meal. I would like to go back again and try more items though.

Pros: Lots of option

Cons: Oily

Just Perfect for Vegan NOGOs (no onion no garlic)

I met a couple in the restaurant who said that if there was a restaurant like that on every corner in every city, they would have no problems going Vegetarian. Delicious food, lots of Vegan, no onion no garlic and gluten free options. Great service and ambience. A staple when visiting Brisbane

Pleasantly surprised.

Finding a car park was the hardest thing about the experience.
We quickly found a seat on a Wednesday for lunch. Our table service was fantastic. While we waited we utilised there games of Connect 4 and drew in their colouring books.
The four of us ordered something each and as we do, passed around the table as to taste.
Easy to order, lovely to eat and a fantastic feeling from the waitstaff and good food.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Very well priced , Portions are better than fair.

Cons: Limited street parking , No self serve chilli options , They need better seats. Little tin things are bad

Pretty good

Nice little place with quick service. Not vegan but most things are or can be veganised. I ordered the Japanese pancake which was lacking structure when they made it vegan.

Pros: Extensive menu that can mainly be veganised, Friendly staff , Free barley tea

Mediocre Every Time

Always busy but I'm not sure why. Maybe they have some popular dishes? Boiled dumplings were bland without sauce, deep fried soy protein was yum, sizzling noodles was practically tasteless.

Pros: Cheap-ish

Cons: Inconsistency

Get thee to Vegeme!

I cannot say enough good things about Vegeme - they are affordable and everything we have tried (over 6+ visits) has been deeeelicious. This is a regular haunt for us and our favourite dishes are - raddish cake and dumplings (boiled or fried). Vegeme's dumplings are fragrant and full of flavour - make sure to try some! The raddish cake is absolutely unforgettable and served with a yummy plum sauce.
All vegan items are clearly marked, there are also gluten free options

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Large servings

Very limited menu

Whilst delicious, the menu options are limited.
The special of the day was the zucchini, tasted amazing but served as a mains, very expensive for the small portion.

Yum vegan options

Vegeme's noodle soups are my favourite in Brisbane and I don't often stray, however I have tried many of their vegan starters and they are delicious as well. The Vegan options are very clear which is a huge help and the food is wonderful. Service can vary but generally very fast and friendly.

Tasty and good value

High quality Asian influenced menu with a decent selection of vegan offerings. The spring rolls are some of the tastiest I've had to date and the bibimbap was fresh, fragrant and spicy. Would happily revisit when next in the city.

.....

On subsequent visits have returned with (non vegan) family and all have enjoyed their meals. The Laksa is a standout in terms of taste and value.

Taro cakes!

One of the few places in Brisbane I can get taro cakes which are my favourite. Well priced and fast this is a good place for some pre beer food in West End. Dumplings are good and although I've mostly had the starters the few main noodle dishes I've had have been worth it as well.

Many vegan options and cheap

As far as I could see, almost everything was vegan and the rest had vegan options. I had laksa and some dumplings and spring rolls I shared with my partner. Everything super delicious and pretty cheap.

nice asian style restaurant

Vegeme is a nice little restaurant in Westend. Many dishes were either vegan or could be made vegan upon request. Ordered the dumplings which tasted ok (not overly amazing but just fine) and the rice in the soyabean curd which was really tasty and well seasoned. The dishes weren't overly expensive and the service was good

one of Brisbane’s best

My partner and I have been to vegeme maybe 40 times since we met. We are both vegan and it’s our favourite place to eat in Brisbane. Never had any troubles and the food is always amazing. Vegeme is one of Brisbane’s best vegan restaurants.

Pros: location, price, variety

We expected it to be way better

A vegan friend recommended us this restaurant. We went for a late lunch. In the menu everything seems to be fried, only a few dishes are not, so we shared the radish cakes, the drum sticks and the boiled dumplings (to balance the fried stuff): radish cakes were ok, drum sticks were not very tasty and dumplings were ok but we tried much better. In general food was greasy and tasteless.. As a results we had stomach ache and acidity all the arvo..
The waitress wasn't very nice and even if we said we were going to share the food, she didn't bring a plate each: very poor service.
It may be cheap but still it doesn't worth it, we wonder why it is always busy as we wouldn't go again. Better try the Sri Lanka restaurant right next door, many vegan options and a way better quality food and service.

Cons: Tasteless and greasy food, Poor service
