Really bland food - Edit
I really didn’t enjoy the spring rolls or the sample of laksa I tried. Flavours were very bland. I could barely eat any of the food.

BELIEVE THE HYPE: THE SOUP BOWLS ARE HUGE! - Edit
I ordered a bowl of mushroom noodle soup. DELICIOUS. I had to really work to finish 80% of the bowl 🍜

Good food - Edit
Casual restaurant, order at counter style table service. The vegan nuggets and accompanied sauce were a bit flavourless. The Okonomiyaki was a lot better, wouldn’t say it’s close to a real one but it tasted and looked great.

VEGEME FOREVER!
Vegeme is run by the sweetest staff from Taiwan (who gave so many amazing travel recommendations regarding their home country). I’ve been here when I was a student studying here 6 years ago and was so relieved to see it was still around, with the amazing menu (some incredible added items) and the price is so so so reasonable. As I always did, I ordered the mushroom noodle soup which is really enough to feed 2 people, the sushi (deep friend ch*cken goodness) and a homemade plum drink. Alllll soooooo good I am rolling back home only to dream about coming back again soon. Thank you amazing Vegeme family!
Pros: Food, Staff, Authenticity

Vegeme - the ol' reliable - Edit
With all the new vegan options out and about in Brisbane, there are some hits and misses. If you are after consistantly good food and service, Vegeme is probably the best. I am not sure I have every had bad service or a bad meal there and I have been going there for many years. I am a big fan of their hot and sour noodle soup which is often such a large portion, I take a lot of it home.

Affordable, decent portions - Edit
Was surprised at how affordable the food is here, and how empty they were on a Saturday night.
Read moreI recommend the curry puffs! They aren’t too spicy but have a bit of a bit to them.
The main was good but nothing overly exciting. Simple, safe food options.
The dessert had a bean interior in a pastry bun which sounds whack but I actually quite liked it!
Portion sizes were decent and I had enough to take some in a container home.
Pros: Affordable, Decent portions, Massive range

Good reliable Asian style veg*n food - Edit
I love the simplicity of VegeMe, the food is cheap and the decor is … well basic cafeteria style.

I’ve been here a few times over the years, but on the last visit, we ordered the TomYum Soup, Radish Cakes and Dumplings. We could have just ordered the soup on its own, really it’s enough for two people.
When we left, our bellies were full, we had smiles on our faces and we had loads of food to take home too.
Pros: Reasonable prices, Lots of choices - Asian fusion, Tasty

Good affordable eats - Edit
I work nearby and get takeaway for lunch every now and then, working my way through the menu. To me, a lot of the dishes taste very similar (especially the soups) and are quite simple. BUT the value is unbeatable, the owners are really friendly and this place is somewhat of an institution. I like their humble, authentic feel. The portions are huge and I usually get 2 lunches out of one takeaway dish.

Didn’t like it - Edit
Unfortunately we didn’t like what we had. It was not so yummy, a lot of veggies undercooked, it also needed more salt.

Tasty and affordable - Edit
Massive portions yet so reasonably priced it’s insane. Friendly owners. I really enjoyed the laksa and fried dumplings, super super good. Also tried the chicken drumsticks and satay noodles soup, sadly they were both lacking in flavor.

Probably the worst vegan meal we've tried in Brisbane - Edit
Every single dish we ordered lacked flavour ( dumplings -most of them broken when served- a soup, a stir fry, even the " stinky " tofu was bland )

The first dish I ever tried here I loved so much that I haven’t even had anything else. Big portions, good price and the staff are lovely. Beancurd wallet with suji as an entree is perfect 👌

The best! - Edit
Everything is so cheap so we got a selection of items from the menu. All delish!!! My fave was the veg/tofu rice, whatever they use for the gravy is just yum! I did order the chilli dumplings I think they were called. That was the only thing that didn’t excite me as there was just no kick in the chilli sauce, was more peppery. But overall one of my fave vegan friendly restaurants

I genuinely cannot understand how I got the meal I did for the price I did. It was massive, healthy and delicious.

Mixed - was Expecting More - Edit
The food is jusy ok. If you are looking for inexpensive veg asian style food with large portions this is place. I recently went to two 5 plus restaurants and this was not on the same scale.
Read moreThe service was ok, but this is more like a fast food place that they bring the food to you after you pay at the counter.
As for the food. The menu is well marked with vegan, glutenfree option. They do use eggs so vegans beware.
I had the tum yum soup. It was enough to serve 4 - 5 people with a heaping bowl .It was tasty but the veggies and tofu where all different sizes and some veggies were under cooked and some were over cooked. Not the best I have had.
The king mushrooms small plate were good but it really needed a flavorful dipping sauce. They were bland. I covered them I. Chilli sauce.
The passionfruit infused green tea was the best part of my meal. It was make fresh.
The sweet potatoes dessert was greasy, not very dessert like and was expecting more of this one.
Pros: Cheap, large portions
Cons: Bland and fast food quality
