Great option for trying new things with non-vegan friends

Note that the whole point of this restaurant is to try things that normally aren't vegan and are veganized - like kabobs and mac n cheese - so you won't find much raw food style options on the menu. Best part of the meal by far was the battered oyster mushroom "honey mustard" style strips! Friends enjoyed the truffle mac n cheese although truffle is not really my thing. Cheesecake for dessert was heavenly.

Pros: Food quality

Cons: Service can be slow when busy

Awesome food, slow service

The food was delicious. Lots of gluten-free options. No gluten-free, nut-free desserts (a lot to ask, I know).
Service was slow even though we came later afternoon on a Sunday.

Pros: Delicious food, Gluten free options

Cons: Slow service

seriously the best!

Ah-mazing food. So good, you do not need to be vegan to love this place.

Pros: great food, all vegan, comfort food

Cons: no ambiance , no shades (if sun is out it’s hot up there)

Great food, pricy. Service is lacking

The food was great and I was enjoying my $18.00 burger, until I was asked to move to another table. To make room for other patrons. I understood the need. Now, for price I was paying he should offered something complimentary for asking me to be inconvenienced. He did not.

Great Food, Poor Service, NEEDS TRAINING

My bff lives near this place so whenever I visit this was suppose be out vegan spot. However
1. The first time we came here I was very pleasantly surprised and happily cleaned my plate. Naturally I returned a second time.
2. This time it took almost 90 minutes for our order to be taken. Guests who arrived after us were seated, placed their orders, and began receiving food before anyone came to us. The person who finally came to us had actually been standing around and cleaning tables instead of assisting us. My bff complained and we did receive a discount on our meal. Nonetheless there is opportunity for training here. She could’ve very well placed our order, and checked on when it was ready in between cleaning tables and serving others.
3. The third and last time we came here, we were prepared to wait and ready to order as much as we wanted. Instead our appetizer had hair in it. I totally understand that we made this discovery toward the end of the plate and had therefore eaten most of the appetizer. Here’s where we had a problem:
We informed the waiter about the hair. He took the proof to the kitchen and said he would be back to follow up after speaking with the manager. No one came back. We called the waiter to ask about it and he then pointed a woman who identified herself as the stand-in manager. This woman said to me “yeah I’m sorry about that but there’s nothing I can do - it happens. You ate the food so I can’t take it off the bill.” “IT HAPPENS”????? I cared less about the bill. But that is not an appropriate response period. As we were leaving, the stand-in manager then stated that she was able to remove the item from the bill and then explained that she doesn’t know what to do in her managers absence. THIS IS A FLAG FOR NEEDED TRAINING.

As delicious as the food is, my bff and I will not be returning without new management and training implemented. My bff has been introducing many health conscious people to this place - a recommendation she has now rescinded.

Pros: great food, various options

Cons: staff needs training, untimely service, hygienic practices are not properly enforced

Tasty Vegan Treat

Unique and flavorful vegan creations so satisfying even hardened carnivores envy it,s and it's so hipster. Great food in a peaceful yet lively atmosphere. Dine-in and take-out. Love to try something new every time I go!

If you haven't been here you should go!

One of our favorite vegan restaurants in the area (45 minutes from home but not many other options closer). Everything we have tried so far is fabulous. I love the mash n' gravy.

Pros: many menu options to choose from, staff are polite and welcoming

Cons: parking

Nails it every time

This place never fails. I've eaten here thrice so far and my boyfriend and I always get something new each time. They never fail to amaze. I recommend getting one of everything, you won't regret it!

Pros: Sweet potato wedges!

Second visit was disappointing

Our Morrocan spice mushroom appetizer was tasty, but texture was disappointing -- stringy and slimy.

Service was brusque. Soda bottle was served without an opener. When dishes were cleared to a bin in the back, they were dropped in noisily, with extra loud clattering.

Service was slow. It took 45 minutes to get our meal.

Pros: Mostly good food., Wonderful decorations

Cons: Stringy, slimy Moroccan spice mushroom appetizer, Brusque and slow service, Noisy clanging dishes that were being cleared

beyond awesome

This is my favorite restaurant in New Jersey I absolutely love it. There are some things I can recommend because I go there a lot I live and work nearby. If you like mushrooms the off the grill appetizer it's to die for. For the main entrees my favorites are the mash and gravy. The burger with sweet fries and make sure you get the sauce. The jerk seitan. And the Mexican. The flatbreads are a little bit lighter and for the sandwiches I love the crusted Curry. You can't go wrong with any of the desserts and make sure you order coffee because it's some of the best coffee I've had. There's seating upstairs it can get noisy when the tables get full but the decor is really cute and the owner put a lot of love into this place. I honestly can't recommend it enough and I'm always stumped by people who may leave a negative review and then admit that they ordered something that they normally don't like so they didn't like it. LOL. I give this five golden stars.

Dissapointing

For being one of the few veg restaurants around middlesex county, I was disappointed with the meal I ordered. I got one of their sandwiches with smoked tofu and sweet potato fries/wedges on the side. The smoked tofu was awful and tasted like wood, but that is also a personal preference and also my fault because I've never liked smoked food. However the sweet potato was also cut too thick, and not truly cooked well. They hit the mark on what I consider a pretty easy dish to master. I'm willing to go back and try more - but definitely won't be ordering the same food I did initially! It was also quite pricey.

Pros: location, quick delivery

Cons: expensive, not tasty

Had Jerk BBQ and my husband had Mex-i-can. Both very good. Desserts were delicious too

Pros: Lots of choices, friendly

Cons: a little expensive

Meh.

The seating area is fairly small and it's noisy, but it was clean and had a lot of character. We ordered two entrees- ( crusted tempeh and bbq seitan) For the portion sizes, I felt it was extremely overpriced. My husband had the tempeh dish($18) and the portion of tempeh was about the size of a matchbox, stacked atop potatoes,a few slices of carrots, mushroom gravy and 5 string beans. My order was the bbq ($18) - the seitan was 2 slices (normal portion) bean/cauli mash, and a ton of the gravy that seemed out of place. My biggest gripe was that I had a total of 4 sauteed green beans. Pretty stingy for the cost. The flavor of everything was fine, but nothing amazing. I don't think it will warrant a return trip.

Cons: too expensive

Looooove them!!!

I was vegan for a while, now I'm mostly vegetarian, but I still go here every chance I get. I love this place. My sister and brother, who are carnivores, love this place. I think the hot dignity dog and mackin cheese are my favorite dishes. I also like the peanut butter pie dessert. Sometimes they get a little crowded upstairs, but if you catch them when it's not as busy it's a very fun atmosphere. They are always very friendly and have great customer service.

Pros: great food , great service , fun atmosphere

Cons: difficult location for pickup (hard to park) , sometimes too crowded

The burger!

OMG that burger! It's the first time ever that I did not miss not even a tiny bit a carnivore burger. Don't expect a complex fancy burger. It's uncomplicated and delicious, just taste great. Do add the extra cashew cheese for the full experience.

Just absolutely delish food and great people!

I am in town for work and I always use Happy Cow to find places. Sooooo glad they partnered with them and want to take them home with me because the food is absolutely delicious!!! Everything is fresh tasting and the seasonings are spot on! I had the lentil mushroom burger with the cashew cheese and salad. And I had the appetizer of mushrooms and I can't wait to take the hubby when he comes up to visit me.

Pros: Organic, vegan with gluten free options. Everythin

Cons: Not really anything they can fix...but parking suc

A "must go" if in the area

We ate here for the first time last year and made it a point to stop back when in town visiting family recently. We've had the deluxe burger, hot dog, soup of the day (creamy sweet potato on this visit). Entrees are well prepared using whole foods and good portions. Presentation is excellent. So many choices you want to order more than one entree. Pricey though, so be prepared to spend. But we love supporting this little vegan slice of heaven. Cozy upstairs eating area, very friendly service. Side street parking can be tough but to be expected in Jersey. We'll be back!

Pros: Great menu and food, Friendly service

Cons: Pricey, Wish they had other cheese sauce options

My Favorite Vegan Restaurant

I live quite far from Veganized (Long Island) and yet have made it a point to get there many times in the last year. The food is incredible. The vegan mac and cheese is amazing and the lentil burger is perhaps the best I've had. I am always impressed with how friendly the wait staff is and the owner has always been on premises and is great to talk to as well. I do wish they had more selections, especially for my picky 6 year old. If we time it right, he can get pancakes that are great! I highly recommend this place.

Great Food!

This is one of our favorite Vegan restaurants. The food and service are great. Some of our favorites are the Rawzagna, the grilled oyster mushrooms, and the Beetle Rawvioli. We eat here any time we are in New Brunswick.

Favorite New Restaurant

This place is one of the best vegan spots I've been to, including Philly and NYC. My wife and I have tried about 10 menu items and every one of them was well cooked and flavorful.

The staff is very friendly and you can tell that the servers and chefs are all passionate about their restaurant. It's clean and in a good location, but it may take a few minutes to park.

The best praise I can give is that we went three times in less than three weeks.

Very expensive but good food

$16 for a burger and $2 extra for cheese making it $18 for a burger! I mean this place is expensive !!
I also felt that they put too much oil in their food.
But I liked the taste overall.

Pros: Tasty food, Good variety

Cons: Very expensive, Food is a bit too oily

Overall very nice

Seating area is a little cramped but it's a city so what can you expect? I liked the atmosphere here. The food was very good and well presented, but most items on the menu contain mushrooms and neither I nor my partner like mushrooms. So I'm sure the food would be fantastic for someone who does! Overall a nice place but not for us.

Pros: good food

Cons: but mushroomy
