Great Potential in the Toledo Vegan Sweet Stop - Edit
Vegan Taste is located in an unassuming building with big taste for the sweet tooth. It is a little difficult to find, as there are no signs on the front of the bakery, and it shares its space with the Pizza store next door. It is all entirely vegan and gluten-free, which has become the catch-all for allergy free bakeries that I am not entirely sure about, but it’s nice to know there are options for the celiac guests.
Read moreI ordered the cinnamon poptart and the peanut butter chocolate brownie. The poptart crust was crumbly, which you wouldn’t think works, but I enjoyed it a lot. It did not feel stiff and dense. It was very messy, however. I do not recommend doing what I did and eating in your car.
The peanut butter chocolate brownie was more of conundrum. It was a solid fudgey brownie base, which I prefer from cakey, but the amount of sugar in this thing hurt. It had a wallop of a scoop of peanut butter frosting drizzled with chocolate all on a dense base brownie. It was all too much; I had to through half away fearing that it would upset my stomach. Less frosting and cutting the chocolate drizzle would have been more appetizing.
Which seems to be an overall negative of the bakery. From looking at the options, it feels like their approach to vegan baking flavor is to dump sugar into everything to cover tastes. It makes my tummy sour thinking of it.
Overall, it’s great to have a location like this, and I really hate bad talking places that are trying with entire vegan menus. But I believe there are areas of improvement. A clear front store sign, using biodegradable packaging rather than plastic, and cutting back on the sugar in the pastries will go a long way. I hope the best for Vegan Taste.

Worth the trip - Edit
Traveling through Toledo and immediately fell in love with their baked goods. Everything is vegan AND gluten free! As someone who is both, it is difficult to find delicious fresh baked cookies, cupcakes, brownies and pop tarts.

The owner and staff are very friendly, eager to share about other restaurants in the area perfect for our vegan and gluten free needs. It is definitely worth stopping by for a treat while in Toledo. We will definitely return again during our next trip through.

We met these delightful bakers at the farmers market in perrysburg last night and were beyond impressed! They were friendly and welcoming and oh my goodness can they bake! We bought Whoopi’s pies and bars and cookies and everything is out of this world good!!!

The best baked goods around! The chocolate chip cookie and sugar cookies are heaven, but I have enjoyed everything I’ve ever had. You can order through their site or find them at local coffee shops and restaurants.
