Top Notch Vegan Eatery - Edit
Seems like every time I'm in Calgary I make it out to Vegan Street in Inglewood. Inglewood would be a great place to go without Vegan Street in the neighborhood. Vibrant community near Downtown, where the Elbow River and the Bow Rivers collide, lots of local breweries, Best record store in the Land and great vibes.
Read moreVegan Street never disappoints. Consistently great, quality food, a beautiful (dog-friendly) outdoor patio, and very friendly staff. Over the years I've tried a lot on their menu and have never been disappointed. While not the cheapest place for a vegan meal, I've never felt that I didn't get what I paid for. I always try to order something I've never tried before and It's always Delicious!
You can't go wrong ordering any of the Tacos, the (local) blue oyster mushroom Kalamari is FIRE, and the Nashville Chickin Burger SLAPS!
I can't wait to go BACK!

Nice Place - Edit
Nice place, good service, lovely patio. Food is pretty good, but was not a fan of the kalamari despite it being the most generous portion. It tastes nothing like kalamari or has the same texture. Doesn’t even taste like oyster mushroom like it says its made with. Its just a mix of deep fried mushroom, onion and jalapeño. Other than that, great place. Would come back.

Best All-Vegan Spot in YYC - Edit
Large menu with thoughtful and diverse vegan ingredients throughout. Excellent flavours, generous portions, and to top it all off, the majority of the menu is also available with Gluten Free options. Recommend: Trio of Dips, Kalamari, Ginger Beaf (add jasmine rice), Caesar Salad, Mac & Cheeze.

Excellent use of meat analogues - Edit
Had an excellent meal sharing dishes with friends. Usually I’m not easily impressed when meat analogues are used, but this is something different. Loved the “fish” tacos, the Mac N cheese amongst other things. Definitely well worth revisiting to try the complete menu.

Great food and service! - Edit
Fantastic comfort food! Love how they make their own seitan! Beaf dip and chickun wingz were amazing! A slight criticism was the ceasar salad just needed more dressing.

great for non-vegans too😄 - Edit
Took my non-vegan grandparents, parents, and in-laws here for mother's day. The staff took great care of us. We ordered 2x calamari for the table, everyone loved it. The atmosphere was really nice! Its a bit more oil than my husband and I are use to eating as vegans, and they were able to accommodate the dressings on the side for my dishes so I didn't eat as much of it. Everything tasted great! Everyone in our group throughly enjoyed their dinner.

We have attempted to try this place several times on trips to Calgary, they hold private events, and it just had not worked out. But this time… we were finally able to partake in all its wonders 💚 I wish we weren’t so full, next time we will have to starve ourselves first so we can try more dishes!!

Overly salty foods - Edit
Tried the Buffalo chickn burger and taco street fries and WOW it was incredibly salty. I could not eat even half of the plate because the food was like eating salt out of a salt jar. I don’t want to sound mean but not sure how it got such good ratings. Service wasn’t good either but I hate not supporting a vegan restaurant so I gave a small tip. None of the servers approached us and asked how the food was. I mean it’s just curiosity to ask the customers how even if tasting. First experience and was not impressed. I will not go back.

Over-rated - Edit
The ginger beaf was basic and not very ginger beef-like. The beaf dip was disappointing and the side of fries were so overdone they were not edible, meaning the potentially tasty gravy went to waste. Would be willing to give it a second try, but not a third.

So good we went back! - Edit
Can't say enough good things about Vegan Street. It's right downstairs from the the Attic and has a varied and extensive menu for an all-vegan establishment. The first night we ordered the chick'n wings, ginger beaf, and portobello tacos. The chick'n wings were very satisfying - you bit into it and it had the skin-on taste and feel with the meaty seitan in between. These were well complemented by the sweet chili sauce. The ginger beaf also had a great bite and taste to it. The portobello tacos were delicious, packed full of portobello mushrooms and topped with pico de gallo. For dessert we had a coconut creme brûlée and carrot cake. The crunchy topping on the creme brûlée was a winner, and the coconut creme underneath was pleasantly different and delicious. The carrot cake was super moist and a bit sweet, but we managed to finish it all anyway.
Read moreNight 2 - there was a special event tonight and we were told tickets were sold out, but they were able to accommodate us at a table as we arrived somewhat early. We ordered the chick'n wings again, this time with buffalo sauce. The mac'n'cheez with coconut bacon was spot-on for those of you "mac aficionados" like us. The surprise of the night was the oyster mushroom kalamari. If you remember this from your pre-vegan days, the breading on the outside was identical to what I'm used to. The mushrooms had a great texture to them, although just someone softer than actual calamari. Tonight's dessert was a chocolate/cookie dough brownie, that was insanely moist, rich, and decadent served with ice cream. I really wish they had something like this here. Definitely on my "to do again list." if we ever get back to Calgary!
Pros: Great selection of vegan food, Everything was delicious and plated nicely, super friendly staff - Thanks Sergio!

Friendly staff and great food! We both had one of the street fry bowls and they were so delicious and filling. My friend is a flexitarian and could not get over how great the "cheese" was in her bowl. The ambiance is so good there too. We ate on the patio and loved every minute of it.

6* Come here! - Edit
One of the best vegan restaurants we’ve ever been to. Fantastic atmosphere and music (that is loud enough to hear and low enough to converse at your table). Delightful staff.
Read moreThe food is incredible!!! The portions are enormous. We got beaf dips and a kalamari appetizer. The sandwiches come with a side.
Not really a con if you live locally and can take home leftovers, but sides could be ordered/priced separately. We could have shared one and still been stuffed, but might have come closer to finishing it.
Pros: The food was amazing!, The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, Huge portions/great value
