*IF YOU ARE TAKING AN UBER THE APP WILL SEND YOU TO THE WRONG ADDRESS SO BE SURE TO PUT IN THE CORRECT ADDRESS YOURSELF INSTEAD OF SEARCHING "VEGAN SNACK SHACK"* The food was so very good and the portions were insanely huge! They have so many items on the menu it was hard to choose. I personally could live on the fried okra and jackfruit po boy, the flavors were honest to goodness perfection. My husband got the jambalaya and gumbo and he absolutely loved it. The staff was so so nice and the walls are covered in the most beautiful artwork I'veever laid eyes on. Everything was so clean you could do surgery in there lol! I wish they delivered to Cleveland hahaha but fr I already know what I'm ordering next time I'm in New Orleans! Looks like a lot of the reviews here are for their old location. The owner told me they moved for the same reasons people stated here, it was kind of a sketchy looking neighborhood. The new place does have dine in.

I would give this place one star if I could. My wife and I landed in New Orleans at 11:30pm and I put in an order after we picked up our rental car. It took us 25 minutes to get there, and 15 minutes later I got a text saying that my order was ready. I called Vegan Snack Shack only for them to tell me that they didn't have the patty that comes on the original item I ordered and asked if I wanted a different kind of patty. I said yes. Then waited another 30 minutes. Finally I knocked on the blacked-out door only for them to direct me to the "walk-up window" (literally just a hole in the wall), where they told me my food wouldn't be ready for another 45 minutes. I just asked them to cancel my order. Absolutely ridiculous. Maybe the food is great, but I wasn't going to wait around for two hours to try it.

No restaurant there!!! There is an unmarked, appears to be abandoned building at this address. When you call they say you can place an extremely expensive order then go to the “window” to pick up your food. Beyond sketchy…. Abort mission. Never seen a food service place so sketchy. No way you want to order and hangout in that area for 2 hours waiting for them to throw your food out of that sketchy building if they are even in there at all. Happy cow doesn’t allow 1 star rating since it lists itself as vegan. This is a zero star though.

Late night drunk people food, pickup only, at the back of someone's house? Felt a little unsanitary. This seems more of a 'feeding the locals' kind of thing, than a actual 'go out of your way to come here, if your visiting' thing. But if you're starving and drunk, why not🤣

Read moreIf I invited a friend over for dinner, I'd be embarrassed to serve this to them, never mind asking someone to pay for it. I can forgive a lot of things for a great meal, maybe even the 2½ hour wait we dealt with, but this is the furthest thing from great. The only reason I even ate it was how hungry the wait had left me. On top of that, they shorted us a full entree. I can't imagine anyone ordering from this place a second time. Do yourself a favor, and eat literally anywhere else.
HappyCow doesn't let you go lower than two stars for vegan restaurants, but this one should have zero.
Cons: takes hours to get an order, it's like a four-year-old's idea of making dinner, didn't even give us what we paid for

I really appreciate a midnight vegan delivery. However, I cannot comment on the food because I never receive it. It appears that the driver waited a long time for the pickup from the restaurant. The service could benefit from faster cooking and a more reliable delivery.
