nice ramen - Edit
2 kinds of vegan ramen, they tasted pretty good and broth was flavourful but only one topping. In busy times the wait can also be pretty long

Tasty ramen, a bit too expensive - Edit
The ramen is good (I tried the miso ramen), even though a little expensive, but I suggest to eat it at the outside tables. To eat it inside you have to pay an extra price, plus inside it’s dark and cramped and you have to wait a long time to get in. Good to have a vegan restaurant outside of team labs.

Best ramen we had in Tokyo - Edit
People complain about the weird inside experience but it’s at an art museum, so it completely makes sense and made our experience so much better! Loved the small, intimate, and artistic dining experience provided. Ramen was 10/10 and beer was refreshing. Next time, id love to sit outside on the fun endless bench!

Gimmicky but good ramen - Edit
This vegan ramen shop has two main options: the soy ramen soup and the miso ramen soup. Both are fine, but UZU seems to be more about the digital art attraction nearby than it is about good food. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit this place.

really good ramen - Edit
I had the strawberry rhubarb ice cream and miso ramen. The ice cream was good. The ramen was really excellent. It had some sort of ingredient in it that was a bit numbing, which I wasn't familiar with. I think it might have been Szechuan pepper. I took my omni friends who were traveling through Japan and they said it was the best ramen they had on their trip. There was a bit of a wait to order/get the food just as it was a busy/crowded day.

Awesome Rameb - Edit
We went there as a family today after visiting the team lab museum.
Read moreKids loved the miso ramen and adults loved the miso spicy ramen. Flavorful with a rich soup and the right ingredients. Awesome!!!
Too bad it is a little far from where we live otherwise we would come back just to eat there.
For desert the kids had vegan ice cream and they also loved it.

Random Spot for Good Ramen - Edit
Vegan Ramen UZU hails from Kyoto with its Michelin star and has its own location conveniently next to the teamLab Planets exhibit. Funny enough - I was struggling to find a vegan friendly meal before our ticket time, but ended up seeing this right outside, which became out post-exhibit lunch.
Read moreWe ordered their Soy Sauce Vegan Ramen and Spicy Miso Ramen (each costing ¥1320), each with its own homemade whole wheat noodles and fragrant broth. Both bowls didn't include too much else besides the noodles, broth, and a grilled tomato or onion slice respectively. The broth really carried the ramen in this case and it was a great way to end our visit to teamLab.
I also ordered a donut since it's always tough to find a vegan friendly dessert. The donuts were nothing special, all pre-packaged and too dry for my own good. I would skip out on these in the future.
Overall, really glad that UZU exists and was there just in the knick of time for me.
Pros: Great food outside TeamLAB
Cons: Donuts weren't the best

Delicious - but weird place - Edit
Let me start by saying this was the best ramen I’ve probably ever had in my life. I got the soy sauce ramen and it was garlicky and delicious. Sadly gotta take a star off cuz this place is kinda weird. I wanted a drink with my meal so they recommended I pay like $3 extra to eat inside. Overpriced but I did it cuz I was cold. Inside was its own art exhibit, where you basically eat in the dark with weird sounds playing. At least it was warm! Probably should have read other reviews first to know what I was walking into 😂

TeamLabs is awesome and so is Uzu Ramen - Edit
The immersive exhibition at TeamLabs is a must see - and eating the Vegan Ramen afterwards is the icing on the cake. Certainly one of the best Vegan Ramen I’ve eaten. We sat outdoors on a nice day which was great, didn’t check the small indoor room as my partner thought it would be disorienting.

YUM! - Edit
Delicious, vegan, and fulfilling!! I had the miso ramen and my daughter had the spicy ramen. Both were wonderful, tasty, plentiful, and healthy. The drinks were delicious too. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything here. We ate inside where there is limited seating on one long table but it is dark so it felt intimate and not embarrassing when we splattered. The service was friendly as well.

Cool ambiance, delicious food - Edit
Wow, what an experience. I got the cold flower ramen, and it was amazing (it includes tongue-numbing flowers, which is always fun). Also got the green tea ice cream, it was yummy, I wish it was more than one scoop. One of the coolest parts is the restaurant itself—the walls, table, floor, and chairs are all mirrored and the ceiling has light projections on it with soothing music playing in the background.

Uzu in Kyoto is better, but still it’s worth a visit - Edit
I’ve been to Uzu in Kyoto, and it was a wonderful experience, so I wanted to visit one in Tokyo too. I expected that I could have super delicious vegan Sushi and craft gin that I had in Kyoto, but sadly they don’t have it in Tokyo. Their Ramen is, of course, tasty, and the gallery is worth a visit, if you haven’t been to the Team Lab’s exhibition yet (If you’ve already been there, the gallery in Uzu is not special anymore).
Pros: Ramen, Gallery
Cons: No sushi, No craft gin

Unique ramen experience - Edit
It is always a good thing when there's a vegan option in Japan. At the National Art Centre Tokyo, the special dish created for the Hideaki Anno exhibition is a humble vegan taco rice plate. However, teamLab Planets takes a leap further and offers a whole vegan ramen restaurant.
Read moreVegan Ramen Uzu Tokyo is a branch of the award-winning main restaurant in Kyoto (which I have never been to). This establishment offers four ramen; miso, shio, flower cold, and green tea ramen. The latter two are only sold in Tokyo. You can enjoy the ramen outside, standing up, or sitting down inside a small gallery for a price, as the previous review has mentioned.
Since it was quite a windy day, and I just got paid, I decided to splurge and purchased the green tea ramen set ticket. So I can sit inside and enjoy the ramen experience (¥2,530 - drinks included).
The taste and presentation of the ramen itself were exquisite; it was almost like a work of art; swamp green broth with threads of chillies and a chunk of white onion in the middle. The broth had a bit of a heat that tickled my tongue. I can taste some green tea and 'the sea' in the broth (perhaps they used algae to achieve the dark green colour of the broth). The noodle was on the thicker and flatter side. Combined with the broth, they don't feel very heavy to eat but still quite filling.
As the previous review has mentioned, it was awkward to eat inside the gallery. I felt very claustrophobic while being inside; It was dark, the ambient music was harrowing, and the 'reverse rotation' was a bit headache-inducing. Instead of enhancing my senses to enjoy the ramen, eating inside the gallery made me want to get out to grab some fresh air.
I feel somewhat cheated that I have to pay that amount of money, thinking I would appreciate both the art and noodle. But alas, I am a complete philistine when it comes to modern art.
Pros: The ramen
Cons: The gallery

Food is great but ambiance a little lacking - Edit
We went to Tokyo for the first time in months today, to visit the city’s newest vegan restaurant. It’s called Vegan Ramen Uzu, and it just opened today at the TeamLab Planets digital art museum (nearest station: Shin-Toyosu).
You do NOT have to purchase a ticket to the Planets art museum to eat at the restaurant, although we highly recommend going there at least once. It’s a unique experience not to be missed!
On to the food. You have the option of eating outdoors, or inside the “digital installation” (basically, a dark room with pretty images projected on the walls and ceilings and ~ambient~ music playing). This will cost you, though— the cheapest bowl of ramen (drink and entrance to the room included) costs 2200 yen.
We forked over the cash and were led into the room. It. is. tiny!!!! And it has just one communal table that can seat 12. I guess there are people out there that like being seated opposite total strangers, but I’m not one of them.
We waited, awkwardly, in the small, dark, loud room for our food to arrive. When it did, I was happy with it. My spicy miso ramen had just the right amount of spice, and I loved the noodles. Taking center stage
was a giant onion, which I was happy with, but onion-hater Ryuji was not.
They also sell vegan ice cream, but 650 yen for a scoop was a bridge too far after paying all that money just for lunch. I appreciated the fact that the kitchen is clearly visible from the counter where you place your order.
Visit the Planets museum, and if you’re hungry afterwards, grab a bowl of ramen. It’s delicious. But maybe eat it outside.
