Great vegan market in Newcastle

Vegan Market Co organise vegan markets all over the country throughout the year and me and my wife just happened to be in Newcastle on the weekend they hosted one there!

They had a range of stalls selling various food items such as sauces, cheeses, cheesecake, fresh fruit and baked goods, as well as nonedible goods such as artwork. They also had several food trucks offering vegan fried chicken, churros and hotdogs.

We had fun browsing the different stalls and bought some of the fried chicken which was delicious!

However it is worth noting that not all of the stalls are fully vegan businesses. Everything at the market is fully vegan but that doesn't mean that the businesses don't also sell non-vegan items at other events. I found this out after I assumed that all the businesses were vegan and saw one of them at another market the next day and very nearly purchased a non-vegan cheesecake without realising. I was a little disappointed when I found this out as I'd prefer to support fully vegan businesses at such an event but I do also understand the benefit of encouraging non-vegan businesses to promote their vegan offerings.

That was lucky timing Henry😄With 50+ locations (https://www.veganmarkets.co.uk/location), we really need to get them listed as a 'chain' (doesn't look like they are https://goo.gl/search?site:happycow.net+"veganmarkets.co.uk")
