Recently spent two wonderfully relaxing days with my partner at Anita's lovely home in the Kirk gate area of Cockermouth.
We were made to feel completely at home from the moment we arrived and Anita's cooking is just simply fantastic.
I would highly recommend a stay here.
You won't regret it.

On a recent trip to the Lakes we were looking for somewhere for a Vegan evening dinner so we contacted Anita of Vegetarian Lakeland Living. We specified 3 courses and said we liked all foods. Always nice to have a surprise meal.
Anita's food was amazing. We had a refreshing tomato salad with some lovely olive bread and salad from the garden. For mains Anita made us a three mushroom and lentil pie topped with mash and lemon thyme with sides of aubergine cooked in tomatoes and steamed broccoli. Anita made us elderflower pancakes for dessert served with strawberries and blueberries and soya yoghurt. The pancakes were amazing - see the pictures! :-)
Price wise it is fairly however, this was a well thought out menu, with lots of time, effort and made just for us so really it was well worth it.
Anita was very friendly and welcomed us into her home for dinner. I hope we get to stay there one day - the breakfasts sound equally fab.
The food in this guest house is delicious. So good, in fact, that it won the Vegetarian Society's veggie breakfast of the year award! We were only able to confirm our booking at 11am on the day we were due to arrive. Despite that we were served a wonderful spicy creamy lentil soup with home made bread, roast vegetable tart with rosemary potatoes, lovely vegetables and salad, and rhubarb crumble with custard. We slept in a comfortable bed and had a spacious bathroom. Next day we were served the best vegetarian breakfast we have ever had, including a large platter of freshly cut fruit, a wide range of cereals, a fried breakfast including home made potato cakes, polenta and tofu, and more home made bread toasted and preserves. Anita is very friendly and helpful and there are two lovely friendly cats and a tiny Chihuahua to welcome you.
