I went 2 nights in a row. Tried 4 different dishes from the gluten free menu and a dessert. All incredible. So delicious. The ribs and Zalmon are so so good. This isn’t your normal junk food place. Exceptional looking food. FYI they only take cards.

Best vegan junk food. - Edit
Better than regular junk food, their menu is like an upgraded version of all the things vegans might miss. Their alternative meats are better than anything we had before. They serve fish, chicken, red meats, seafood - all you can think of. It may seem pricey, but is DEFINITELY worth it.

Incompetent employees, great food - Edit
Eventhough the burger was great it seemed like the waitresses were caught in slow motion and ignored new costumers. It wasn’t full but they just didn’t take our order. They came out a couple of times, took one order and left again. We had to wait 25 minutes to place it. Our neighbors waited 50 minutes for the food to arrive. We were lucky & only waited 40 minutes. The burger was great though. Fries tasted similar to McDonalds (a bit better). Beer was way to expensive.

When I first tasted it in 020 I loved the food but the taste was not lovable anymore.
We had the fish&chips & fish xo, it was filling.
The onion rings, tipsy cocktail and macaroni balls were yummie. So next time we will have only a drink and fingerfood instead!

We enjoyed the restaurant room's theme around pink and purple graffiti, as well as the efforts on the menu to create modern & original fast food items. We ordered a burger and some fake ribs which were good, whereas the fries were okayish.

Sat there for ages before a waitress eventually came over to tell me I had to call up the menu with a QR code and order my meal using that app. So the idea is to have as little contact with anyone; even to pay contactless with no cash. The food was vegan junk. Burgers! I don't want to eat a burger trying to pretend its not meat! ( The waitress who helped me order also agreed with my complaints.! She was nice! Go somewhere else to work is my advice.)

Presumptuous food and place - Edit
We tried the vegan junk food bar today, a chain of vegan places. The menu is extensive and very "freaky" as is the place itself. You have to download the menu from the internet as a PDF yourself, wtf?! What about not owning a smartphone or being low on battery? Well, then you can't eat there. We ordered fish and chips which was good, but at 13 Euro it better be. We also ordered what they called worlds first vegan BBQ ribs (with fries), which were a joke. The fries were OK, but the ribs resembled nothing like ribs and were rather sad at 14 Euros. Also, I've eaten better vegan BBQ ribs some 15 years ago from a normal grocery in California, but they were out of this world😄At last the usual no cash accepted nonsense, which gets annoying after a few days in Holland. So, would I go there again? Probably, but without phone and only cash in my pocket😉

Regarding the menu, during the pandemic we adopted this form of digital menu in order to protect our customers and our staff since this form proves to be more safe because it limits contact.
Vegan Junk Food Bar is a cashless restaurant which means we promote the use of cards or such means to pay. Not only for the safety of our staff (because of the risk of robberies etc) but also for environmental reasons; cash has a much bigger environmental impact to handle (printing / transport / handling). If someone insists on paying in cash, that is always possible but we have very little to no change in house.

Smear infection is way less of a source for Covid 19 infection than aerosols. So, if you want to do something about preventing infections, tell staff and customers to wear face masks before/after eating inside.
Read moreI never heard of cash money being an environmental problem. Do you have a source for that claim? But if you want to do something about the environment, please consider using less throw away tableware. We, as well as all other customers I saw, had no real plates, but only stuff made of paper/cardboard which was not reusable and most certainly went to the trashcan.

It was really busy so we had to wait in order to be seated, but the staff solved this perfectly. They were really friendly and the food was amazing! Among other things we had the mac and cheese betterballs and the fly wingz. Also probs for the names of the dishes!

Best vegan food i’ve ever had - Edit
I had some amazing vegan bitterballen and vegan kroket burger, they were everything I wanted and the staff was amazing aswell. They seemed quite busy which is why i think they closed upstairs and outside and had only like 2 or 3 people working front of house but shoutouts to them they did a great job and the food came quite quickly aswell. I’m dutch living in the UK and visiting here for the first time again in 2 years and will definitely go again on this same trip to try more food!
