Tasteful but a lot of single use plates - Edit
The food was very tasteful and it is a funky place! Though the place stands for sustainable food, it is a pity that this is not represented in the overall concept. I received a lot of single use items, e.g. a paper straw (could be eliminated, my drink would still taste wonderful, in fact even better without the paper taste), a lot of paper plates for fries etc. (OK, the concept is junk food, but it is a restaurant not a take away, so this could easily be replaced by something reusable), paper placemat, paper cutlery holder. It would be super if a trendy place like VJFB, probably attracting a lot of people that are not vegan in their daily life, could also show and aid in helping letting people realise that beyond the food many small things can have a big impact on sustainability.

Regarding our disposables, At VJFB™ the environment is central to us. At the same time, with our mission, we are making a major contribution to a better environment in food production. A lot of water is needed to make animal products. We limit the CO2 or water footprint through our plant-based concept. Plant-based food has a positive effect on deforestation, ocean pollution and animal suffering in the world. Every time 1 plant-based meal is consumed at VJFB™, 2.000 liters of water, 1.4 m2 of forest, 2.25 kg CO2 and 1 animal life is saved!
We are integrally and constantly looking for the best solutions with regard to the environment, for all our brand materials. We see this as an integral part of everything we do and we like to choose environmentally friendly solutions. Our packaging is certified and contributes to sustainable forestry. Endangered natural areas are protected and new forests are planted once the forests are cleared. We work with suppliers who ensure the right delivery conditions throughout the supply chain – from the moment the saw blade is inserted into the wood until the paper arrives in our stores. Our Green Mission is evolving. It’s an ongoing process in which we strive to no longer regard packaging as residual waste after opening, but as basic material for a new (packaging) product.

First, the location has one one of the best vibes I have seen in any restaurant/bar. Second, the food, drinks and desert were absolutely amazing. They have a qr on each table which you scan and use to place orders which makes it easy to do so.

Everytime we visit Rotterdam we think of going here. Today we went for the "sumo platter" and the "calamariz". Excellent vegan versions of regular meat and fish. Their rainbow sauces are playful and full of taste. Do not skip this place when visiting Rotterdam, you will not regret it. Beware of the double cheezburger though, it will be the only meal you'll need all day!

Went here a couple of times now. Food is delicious and pretty looking. Service is always friendly but most of the times they sadly seem either understaffed or not experienced enough (long time before taking your order, not checking up on you during, empty glasses being unnoticed).

Our visit to the vegan junk food bar left us with mixed feelings. The selection is very good, the price (at least for Germans) is quite high for junk food. We had wings which were very good as well as bitterballs which weren't bad at all. Our loaded fries were already cold when they arrived - but the taste was very good. the truffle sauce just tasted sweet and the waiter forgot to give us cutlery. When I mentioned the fries were cold the waitress blamed it on the kitchen, no apologies. A pity!

They have a great variety of delicious vegan burgers and fingerfood. While staying in Rotterdam for a week we actually went to VJFB twice because it was so good and there are so many options to try. The staff was also super friendly :)

I came here with a non-vegan friend and we sat on the patio. The patio is really nice in warmer weather. Both of us enjoyed our meals. The food we had was tasty and filling, but I wouldn’t say it’s particularly outstanding. Larger servings would have been appreciated. The passion fruit dessert is definitely worth trying. Prices are fair - about €25 per person for a main, drink and dessert.

Ik was zelf nog nooit eerder naar de VJFB geweest en ben blij dat ik het eindelijk heb ervaren! Leuke inrichting en gelukkig stond de muziek niet te hard. De Menukaart was alleen online te bekijken, wat nogal onpraktisch was, zeker door de chaotische vormgeving van de kaart zelf. Ook vond ik het jammer dat veel gerechten zoals 'sashimi' niet meer te bestellen waren.

We had a really good experience with the Vegan Junk Food Bar. The outdoor seating is nice (except for the smokers), the staff very friendly and quick. We were not able to get extra wishes (split the Bitterballen/Cheeseballen) though.
