Read moreBetter suited for pick up, as it is in the back of a small food mini mart. But if you're passing through the area, or need a delicious vegan place in the east end, this is the spot! The hours are a bit better than other places selling vegan Ital food, and the people are very nice and friendly.
The food is fantastic. The quinoa surprise and rasta pasta were excellent, as was the ital stew. The BBQ and Jerk tofu are flavour heaven, and the eggplant delight was incredibly delightful😄The samosas are also probably the tastiest, most well-made samosas that I've ever had!!
The food mini mart sells honey, but this is unrelated to Vegan.I.Thali and they can't control what a little neighborhood food mart sells to stay alive...so please don't penalize this wonderful little business because of what their landlord sells. We've lost too many vegan restaurants in Toronto in the last 2-3 years. Please support this amazing little eatery!

Comfort food was what I wanted and what I got. I had the Mac pie, some sides, and corn soup. Very hearty and delicious with great ingredients.

Jerk tofu tasted like meat! - Edit
I loved the meal I got with vege stew, jerk tofu, peas and rice. My goodness, the jerk tofu tasted like real meat. For Guyanese folk, this tasted like pepper pot. The owner showed me how she makes fresh sea moss. I enjoyed it all so much that I forgot to take a picture.

Incredibly tasty food. Unique flavours and great veg and sauces. Corn soup is very good too. However the price is expensive considering there are no frills (its in the back of a store and there are no seats). It was like $20~ for a dinner portipn though it was a large portion, maybe a two smaller meals worth.

Great thali place on the Danforth - Edit
I was so happy when I saw this place open up. Any new vegan food & I am there! The owner is absolutely lovely. Food is delicious. A bit on the pricier side but worth it. This is one of our go to spots when we are in the mood for some soul food. Definitely check it out!!

Best (corn) soup anyone I have been with (they weren’t even vegan) told me they ever had. Their Ethiopian food is also extremely delicious. Must try!

Read moreNot what you expect when walking in. It a grocery store and at the back is where you would order the food. Small, not a lot of seating area. About 4 bar stools to eat along the wall. Place is more for take out not eat-in kind of place.

Closed way to early! - Edit
I called around 9 PM and asked If It’s possible to ‘eat in’ and they said yes they have space to eat. When I got there around 9:20 PM they were already closed. They didn’t even come to the door to say hi and say that they are sorry they had to close early or something, they just shewed me away like I was bothering them. I will try again anyway and give them benefit of the doubt.

Why would you leave a review for a place when you haven’t tried the food? The negative stars (you skewed it by a lot since there are only two reviews) aren’t helpful to small, fledgling businesses that are trying to start out. I would have held my tongue till I tried the food, then mention your first negative experience then, but rate the food fairly.

I agree with mruckus. There are few enough vegan restaurants in the city and I try to support them especially in the early days. I see no value in giving a low rating when you haven't even tried the food or been through the door.
