** the short version if you're scanning - vegan hippo serves expensive, stale, unappetising food that none of our family of four finished eating. small, hot, grotty restaurant with limited menu choices, poor presentation, low quality food. utterly disappointing, we would not recommend vegan hippo at all. would have given 1 star, but happy cow has a minimum 2 star rating for fully vegan restaurants **my vegan family ate here last night, and our dinner was a complete disappointment, and an overpriced one at that. we were keen to try this resturant during our stay in london; the reviews it's received on this site have been excellent, but the reality doesn't come close to what we've read.the food is basic, poorly presented, and limited in selection. we arrived for dinner at 6pm, and out of the 6 menu items they had on offer, three were unavailable. this left a burger, a hot dog, and one other nugget-type item, with chips. three of us had the hot dogs, and one had the jackfruit bbq burger, all with chips. the hot dogs were boiled and bland, served in chewy rolls. the jackfruit burger was served on a stale burger bun that cracked and fell apart when eating. none of us finished our food. when a 12 and 8 year old don't enjoy a hotdog, you're doing something wrong.our food was expensive, unappetising and underwhelming. we paid 45 pounds for three hot dogs, one burger, four chips and two drinks - that's over $AU70. the restaurant is hot and stuffy, looks grotty, and has wobbly chairs and tables. we were a group of four, and none of us would recommend eating here.

Vegan

Small joint with really unhealthy vegan food. They serve too salty, deep fried vegan junk.
