Cakes & Pastries Are So Delicious!

I want to try everything at the bakery! I ordered takeout: Black Forest cakes, and almond croissants! Super tasty! Must return to try them all!

Lovely delicious European Style Cafe

I love how cute and lovely is this place on the Queen Street west, where mostly in the area are bars and pubs. Lovely addition to the neighborhood!

The food is delicious and the options are amazing and abundant from cheesecakes to croissants and breakfast sandwiches !

Would highly recommended their selection of cheesecakes if someone is craving delicious vegan treats!

The best bakery in Toronto

Literally a "mom & pop" business run by a husband and wife team, the Vegan Danish Bakery on Queen is my favourite place to visit when I'm in Toronto. So much variety, mostly made from scratch based on family recipes passed down through generations, the food here is incredible. Cakes, brownies, butter tarts, sandwiches, sundaes, cheesecakes and yes, incredible danishes.

Pros: Great food, Fantastic variety, Owners seem like awesome people

Amazing all round. They do custom orders!

I love this place! Always have a hard time choosing what to get when I come here. My top picks are any of the danishes (of course!), the blueberry pie or any of the cheesecakes.

I know they’re super simple but I am also a huge fan of the pizza baguettes.

Update: they are AMAZING when it comes to custom orders. I was going to a beach picnic and wanted to grab a bunch of goodies to bring. Spoke to chef Shannon over the phone and she made it SO EASY. I gave her our budget, and she talked me through her recommendations and even offered to make an off-menu item (a vegan egg salad croissant everyone ended up raving about!). She even cut everything into bite sized pieces and arranged our food into trays. She truly went above and beyond!

I’ve done another custom order to feed 14 for a birthday party and it was also a great experience!

Best vegan Danish bakery in Canada

I honestly love this place and if I lived closer I'm sure I would find a reason to go every day. The interior decor, the large selection of vegan treats and meals, the friendliness of the owner - I would rate it as superb. It is a must to go here when in Toronto/North York.

Pros: Decor, Alll the vegan options, Friendliness

Yummmmm

This was worth the trek! It was far to walk from where we were but it was totally worth it! You can take a tran I think or Uber. The empanada was amazing (I’m picky about those), the strawberry cookies amazing! The sweets (we didn’t get a lot unfortunately as we weren’t that hungry) but was amazing! I didn’t realize they made other stuff and later had ordered an ‘egg’ muffin sandwich, but we took it back and ate it cold, but omg get that! It was even amazing cold! I only wish we tried it when it was piping hot, but man it was so darn good! He said they make their own plant egg, way better than JE. Had we went earlier on our trip we would have gone back. But we were leaving the next day and we didn’t have a big appetite 😢. The host or owner was super sweet! The only thing the kitchen opens late. I think the cafe opens earlier though. Go it’s worth it!

Pros: Eggless muffins sandwich , Empanadas , Cookies / sweets

Cons: A little far , Kitchen opens slightly late, But go!

Still amazing!

This place had a larger menu before COVID. I remember having some quiche there, a benedict, and some incredible waffles. I hope they can expand their menu again. But even with their smaller menu, it is probably the best place in town for a vegan brunch. Great food, atmosphere, and staff.

Insanely delicious

Holy crap this place was so good. A chocolate topped croissant cut in half and filled with custard?! Get the hell out here! Delicious. If you live anywhere in north America and would not make a special trip to Toronto just for this place you’re a weak ass vegan. Haha.

Pros: Incredible danish pastries, Friendly staff

Get the Chocolate Eclair!

Super cute cafe on Queen west in TO.

The breakfast sandwiches are delicious and the cupcakes are phenomenal. The standout though is the chocolate eclair; it's so, so good!

Currently trying to think of a reason to justify buying one of their tasty looking cakes! #Veganuary

Holy vegan smokes

Toronto people, you are a lucky bunch. First of all - the place is beautiful, great to bring family members or someone you're trying to impress.
We are tourists and made an effort to come here based on the other reviews, and this place didn't disappoint!
Everything we tried was incredible. The bagel was super soft, the cookies were buttery, just awesome. We went a bit nuts and bought a lot of goodies and it wasn't that expensive.
Very nice staff as well.

Pros: Delicious , Pretty affordable , Beautiful space

Cons: Limited hours

Please go here

This place was incredible! So rare to be able to look at an entire pastry case and not have to read the labels to find out what is vegan. The pastries were great and the staff was super friendly. The inside is really cute too! They additionally have breakfast and lunch options and coffee drinks. Check it out

Pros: All vegan

Mixed bag

We had heard great things about this place but found that the pastries we tried (a croissant and a danish) were a little dry and the danish was a little too sweet. However, we did really enjoy the breakfast sandwich, it was fresh and the fake meat and cheese were cooked really nicely.
The staff was also very friendly!

Pros: Friendly staff, Big selection

Cons: Dry pastries

Incredible selection 🧁🍪🍰🎂

Walking into Vegan Danish Bakery was like finding a sweet tooth heaven. It's one of the best bakeries I've ever been to. All the pastries were well stocked, and it was a huge, varied selection. There were even a lot of savory options available to order.

The service was great and very welcoming. It's a cozy place with a lot of seating and cute decor and chandeliers. The music was calming and fit the environment nicely. This is really the perfect place to relax and enjoy pastries.

Be sure to ask them about gluten free options! Not all of the gluten free options were labeled

Amazing breakfast sandwiches

Awesome spot on Queen St.! The breakfast sandwiches were fantastic, and finished off with an almond croissant. Friendly staff and really cool interior with classical music playing. I'll be back to try the Danish open-faced sandwiches and vegan tuna salad.

It's pretty good for a "vegan" place

I hate to say it, but none of the items I ate were as good as before I was vegan. For an all vegan place, it's pretty good, but it makes me sad that it can't be anywhere close to being as good as non-vegan things.

I'll still eat here though, since it is all vegan, but I just don't get my hopes up.
