Read moreBeing located inside a mall has the big advantage to be easily accessible for many people. However, for me it’s always a minus point, because it’s so impersonal - for me, food, to be enjoyable, always needs a fitting location and a mall is never such a fitting location.
Anyways, they immediately approached me to taste a small piece of one of their patties. It tasted good, so I ordered a smokey bacon burger, which was recommended by staff, and my companion ordered the chicken burger. We had two different fries with cheese and I had also a vanilla milkshake.
The food court has plenty of seatings available, still it was pretty crowded.
The fries were average. Not crispy enough, the truffle cheese was ok, the bacon cheese tasted too artificial (mainly the bacon, the vegan cheese itself was actually the best of all alongside the patty).
My burger wasn’t bad. Patty and cheese I liked, the rest wasn’t that convincing. The whole bacon thing was so-so. The chicken patty was excellent, but there was some sauce inside my companion didn’t like at all. Also, the bun was abnormally greasy.
The paper preventing the burger insides to slide out is a really good idea though.
My milkshake however was the biggest disappointment: nothing was as it should have been: bad texture, artificial tasted - I expected much more from a milkshake. What I got there was poor.
All in all though it was fair but not as convincing as expected.
All the good reviews are to a degree misleading, because they haven’t occurred naturally. Vegan Burger has 140 reviews at the moment. Firstly, that’s way more than any other venue in Dubai (second most reviews are 52 for one venue at the time of this writing), secondly, the vast majority of all reviews were made by users who reviewed Vegan Burger exclusively, meaning they created their account for Vegan Burger alone (less than 30 users (from 140 total) made reviews for at least one more restaurant. At the same time, all who reviewed Vegan Burger only gave 5 stars). That are not normal numbers. That are no fake reviews either, but they must have been incentivised somehow.
With all that being said, I can’t say that I’m impressed. My companion (who isn’t vegan) said, she regrets not have gotten her food from McDonald’s instead. I’d like to check out other items of them in the future, but right now I’ve had enough.

I was struggling to recover from a turbulent flight that originated in Bangkok via Emirates. I finally got to this place on my last day and it's not easy to find. The Dubai Mall is a big maze and this level is the hardest to reach. These employees are friendly and fast. I tried the Falafel (hyphenated I think) with green bun and the Chicken Caesar. If my stomach wasn't so jacked the two days I was here, I could have eaten more, but I took some of it to go. A tad expensive and Dubai is like that, unless you're more experienced probably. They give free samples and one should try a few things if you only have one visit. Crazy, echoey food court shared with other places, so Neat Burger is better for private environment, still burger here is better. Loaded fries at the other place. I would bounce between the two if I needed to and lived here.
