Great for a road stop - Edit
The breakfast Cuban sandwich was truly amazing. I thought I didn't like jack fruit but I'm changing my opinion now.

Delicious Sandwich but Chips . . . - Edit
I had the Cuban sandwich, which is mouth watering and delicious. The accompanying potato chips are okay (I ate them all), but I would have really enjoyed more a health-food staple like maybe Garden of Eatin’ Corn Chips — or something along those lines. With better chips I would definitely give this a 5 star rating.

Amazing! - Edit
Pretty big menu! Everything was really good! The Italian hoagie was a little smaller than I thought it wOuld be but it was filled with toppings and such. The bbq ribs were also really good but forgot to take a pic. The place is big inside I wish they had some seats inside !

Get the wings! - Edit
We got there around 5:30 on a Tuesday and walked into a large mostly empty room, but were greeted by the friendliest and knowledgeable staff. We ordered the Cuban empanadas and buffalo and garlic wings. The food came out piping hot. The wings were absolutely delicious! I have to admit I ate the empanada too quickly and it was too hot to really get the taste but the texture of the pastry and filling were on point. If I lived here I would be there at minimum on a weekly basis. Awesome food and service.

Staff is always super friendly ! The food is delicious. The Chopped cheese is my favorite so far. Even though there is no dedicated parking, I usually find parking pretty quickly. I would recommend checking it out!

The current location in New Britain is a work in progress, but the food is excellent! The owners are extremely friendly and I'm glad they're bringing a vegan business to the area.

Hubby brought me home some food from Vegan Bodega today and we were both impressed! At first he thought $10 for a grilled cheese was a bit high but after he tasted it, he said he would do it again and again!

Really good vegan comfort food. Can sell out fast, atleast the drinks. They are not 100% vegan though since they carry kind bars. Not sure if that's an oversight or what, since they carry vegan honey items as well.

Love this spot and the owners!!! - Edit
Went to a Christmas concert in New Britain as we were looking for dinner after we searched the HC app and found this gem with in walking distance. Amazing hot food and unique vegan offerings for sale in the store. The family that runs the Vegan Bodega are awesome and we had a great time chatting with them. Thrilled with the meals once we got home. I highly recommend. Use the address as the outside sign is not up yet and parking is on the street but was not a problem.

Very good vegan fast food - Edit
I had a Cuban sandwich, fries, and a strawberry drink. All was delicious! Other options include banh mi sandwich, and vegan pop tarts. I want to go back to try more.

I was looking forward to this place and when we went, they were closed for some reason, so I ended up getting a pretty decent bowl at a neighboring stall. Will definitely make a return trip to try again.

This place is great!! - Edit
I stopped by Vegan Bodega when I was in Hartford last weekend after seeing some great looking food on Facebook and I'm so glad I did! It was very crowded the day I was there but there is plenty of seating upstairs and downstairs. Their food stall is small but the menu still has plenty to choose from. I got the mac n cheeze with fried chkn and the philly cheezesteak egg rolls and they did not disappoint! I have no idea what the chkn was made out of it but it was crispy and juicy. The egg rolls were huge and delicious! I can't wait to come back and try everything else they have to offer!

Quick deliciousness - Edit
This is a one of a kind vendor in a building full of carnivorous options. First off, it is in a food hall housing more than 40 vendors from every type of food imaginable so if you're with someone who is opposed to vegan food, don't worry, there is plenty of options for them too. My favorite things from here are the steak and cheese egg rolls, hi c drink, French fries, and then the steak and cheese sub. My kids love their Mac and cheese and pop tarts. My boyfriends' favorites are cheeseburger egg rolls and then the pop tarts. The employees are the owners themselves! Must try!

A welcomed addition to the Hartford area, especially with the recent closure of 21 Oak - Edit
Parkville Marketplace (PM) is integral to experiencing Vegan Bodega (VB). If you’ll try anything once and nothing twice, do visit PM at least once.
Read moreUnlike typical food courts in indoor shopping malls, PM is more like Faneuil Hall in Boston. Newer, smaller, more compact, and more festive, PM packs an amazing variety of food stalls. All local vendors, no national franchises here. Even without the allure of one all-vegan food stall, PM is worth visiting. If you’re wary of exposure to Covid in closed quarters, know that its modern HVAC filtration system addresses viruses. Its effectiveness is attested by the odors of burning meat, not even of odiferous grilled steak, from the other food stalls’ kitchens hardly permeating the dining area. An upper-level area offers private enclaves where you can retreat from the crowd and its din. And ample seating awaits outside.
Just as PM offers a wide selection of ethnic cuisines, so does VB. As you’d expect from its name, VB adds a Latinx flair but is still international in scope. Sadly, mock meats and fried foods predominate. I shun both, yet I found just enough choice among its other dishes. Salads and Juices offer a nutritional boost. The portions of each Plate or Special serve enough to feed two people, so prices are quite reasonable. I tried the Mixed Veg and (brown) Rice. Of its 5 protein choices, 3 are mock meats, so I settled for General Tso’s Tofu, way too sugary sweet. If I try it again I will select Salt & Pepper Tofu.
Even if you dine there, it’s all served for takeout. Other reviewers complain about the plastic containers. I prefer it as much more efficient than flimsy aluminum that easily collapses or paperboard gets soaked and drips. Most people just trash those anyway, whereas VB’s sturdy plastic containers with secure lids can be repurposed at home.
VB’s kitchen is small. When it’s busy, be prepared to wait for your order, during which you can wander around to explore other food stalls to marvel at what others eat. Oxtails! Curry Goat! Fried Oreos! Twisted Meatballs! BLT Dog! Lobster Pasta! Crab Legs! Nutella & Banana Fried Dough! Fried Dough Pizza! Chicken N Waffles! Salted Caramel Espresso Martini!
Unfortunately, chaos reigns in the parking lot. Sociopaths park wherever they wish, while civilized drivers are relegated to far corners, then as pedestrians risk injury from moving cars. For a single food stall, I hesitate to subject myself to deplorable parking twice, so will probably try VB only once.
Pros: All vegan, Wide variety of ethnic cuisines offered on 1 menu, The indoor ambience of the Marketplace itself
Cons: Mock meats and fried foods predominate its menu, The chaotic and dangerous parking lot

We were driving through and found this place on the app. It did not disappoint. It was hard to decide what to order- everything looked delicious! My husband had the Cuban sandwich. I had a ”cheese” sub. It was soooo good! I wish I could stay and try everything on the menu!

Good food - Edit
Would return, pretty good food. Understaffed though, they are hiring.
Read more*Breakfast sandwich (crispy chicken) - pretty tasty but would have liked the chicken to have a denser, crunchier fried skin. Could have used a good amount of sauce or butter on the slices, a bit dry.
*Homemade pop tart - got one fresh out of the oven and it was far better than a regular poptart, although smaller than one.
*Pancakes - def wouldn't get again unless vegan butter was served, that would improve them a lot. The pancake was acceptable, maple syrup tasted artificial, not the real stuff.
*Mac & cheese w/ chicken tenders - good Mac, the tenders were outstanding tho, perfect crispy and crunchiness.
*Cuban sandwich emapana (jackfruit, peppers, cheese) - good
