Outstanding find - Edit
We were in the south side today on business and decided to grab a spot of lunch. Indian isn't our typical go to for lunch but we are so glad we found this little nugget on Google as a vegan option.
Read moreThe food was fresh, arrived quickly and tasted outstanding. We ordered the meal for 2 and the portion size was more than enough. My greedy husband also ordered a brocoli and potato paratha, which was without doubt the best I have ever tasted.
The service was impeccable and nothing was too much of a problem for the pleasant young lady serving us.
If you are in the area, I highly recommend you try this gem as you won't be disappointed.
Pros: Food was amazing, Fresh ingredients , Professional service

How can ANY cafe be this bad? - Edit
I can’t believe the way this cafe is, compared to the reviews (bar one).
Read moreA really inept young man on the counter serving. I glanced through the very small menu and we ordered 2 Thalis. In any other place, a very small katori of Dahl and one of Sabji with two small roti does not make a Thali.
The roti tasted stale. The Dahl had little flavour and the sabji was the best out of the two but it was certainly not fresh tasting and lukewarm. Absolutely dire as a Thali. After eating - no service to find if we thought things were good or not; no question as to whether we wanted any thing else, tea, coffee…
I rose to pay for the food. I was greeted and presented with a menu like I had just come in. We were the only people there…
The man said £13.00. For the worst Dahl/Sabji ever… then he asked for £15.00. What? He apologised for making a mistake. It does say £7.50 on the menu.
Shockingly inept as a cafe of any type. Display of soft drinks only had 2-3 bottles or cans of around 4 drinks. Perhaps the business is about to close. No wonder.
A far better place 10 mins walk away…
Pros: None
Cons: Terrible food , Terrible service , Looks like it’s due to close down

Amazing Food - Edit
The food blew me away. So impressed.
Read moreGot the meal for two and it was great value for money. I would have appreciated my own plate/side plate to dish it onto instead of sharing plate as it became very messy. Also napkins were flimsy and I only got one.
The decor and tables/chairs could do with upgrading as they felt very basic.
Good place to jump into for quick food when in the area but not comfortable to sit for any longer.
Pros: Amazing food, Great prices
Cons: Comfort

Beautifully fresh and delicious - Edit
I ate here today and the food was some of the freshest I've eaten in a restaurant. The curry we had was not oily in the slightest, which Indian takeaways often are. The owner is very friendly too. Would definitely eat here again.

Fresh, Authentic Food - Edit
The owner told us that the food was "200%" fresh, and he was not wrong. I got the meal deal with the samosas, chana, and dahl. Everything was super tasty and fresh.

Not that great - Edit
Food was average. The service was terrible and slow . Portion size for the thali was like a kids portion. Lots of improvement needed. Plenty of seats no toilet. The answer of waitress was due to Covid 19 customers cannot use toilets ?

Delicious, fresh Indian food - Edit
I visited Vegan and Veg Cafe with my mum and sister who are both omni. We all had the samosa and chana and the vegan tahli each. The food was so fresh and tasty. There was also a vegan cake of the day but we were absolutely stuffee! We all loved it and look forward to visiting again.

Nice little restaurant & ice cream shop - Edit
The menu here is small but doesn't get boring, as the dahl and sabji is a different one every day. The thali is really good value for 5.50: you get a small serve each of the dahl and sabji, two rotis and some pickled veggies (make sure to mention you're vegan, as the standard option is not vegan!)
