Friendly good food in Osaka

Fun little place that gives you a private room to eat. I would pass the Karaage, it was decent but a bit bland but also not too pricey which was nice
. The hand roll sushi was a fun experience, you get to roll your own sushi and it was really good! The lady who served me was super kind.

Great food in your own sitting room

Not the easiest place to find in the basement of Umeda station it serves a vegan take on Japanese classics in your own private ‘sitting room’ Great tasting food, friendly service and English menus. Well with finding

Pros: Food, Service , Setting

Cons: Not the easiest place to find

the staff was not very welcoming tho, maybe it was just this day. and complicated to find! dont trust the apple map, use google maps or the happycow one ! apple brought me to a whole other building!

Best place to visit with kids

Very friendly staff. Got our own room filled with kids toys. Food was good. The kids appreciated to roll their own sushi.

Very family friendly, fair prices

So cool

You have your own room 🤣 hard to find. Go underground after having entered the building

Nice surprise

Located on the basement floor (B1 I think). Per the info card, it's styled like a Japanese living room so you get your own private little room where you remove your shoes and sit on the floor.
Limited food options, but all vegan 💛
Tasty, but for me I felt like it lacked some salt or sauce😡similar textures too. I got the okonomiyaki and takoyaki. The temaki-sushi was good!

Japanese living room

The dishes were very good. We loved the vegan Okonomiyaki but the Takojaki were tasty as well. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very funny and it felt like being in your own living room. It's definitely worth to visit.

Traditionnal Japan cuisine

Beside having difficulty finding the place (it's inside the building, need to go down the stair elevator). The food is very good 👌 very impressed considering it's gluten free. The quatity is generous and the prices are very fair. My brother and I highly recommand !

All the typical Osaka food but with no suffering. During the day is a second room café for moms and toddlers

Terrible, really

I really don't recommend going here and I hate leaving low stars, especially for vegan places. I truly think this is a tourist trap and they don't actually like serving vegan food. There was one good dish, half of our order never came out, you sit in rooms used for nursing mothers (cool honestly, but in hindsight adds to this experience).

It was 4 of us, and we ordered 5 entrees. They came out 1 at a time. 1 was good and decent sized, one was miniscule like tiny, like they are joking with you so small.

At the end after waiting an hour after the 3rd entree came out, we told them we were leaving. The cashier asked if we were full in a joking manner and I'm sure was trolling us knowing we weren't. They served food so insanely small it had to be a joke. I can't write this any more plainly and you will likely still go since it says vegan and gluten free, but I really hope my review can help you go to any other restaurant in all of Osaka because they will all be better. This truly was awful.

The only reason I'm leaving this is because I looked at the reviews and they seemed really hit or miss, so we tried it. There are plenty of places without such a wide berth of ratings and I implore you please for the love of all food go anywhere else.

:)

The Second Room - delicious vegan Japanese

Very welcoming. You get your own private room to eat. The food was awesome and it was wonderful to be able to eat traditional Osaka dishes vegan.

Yummy takoyaki

Really yummy takoyaki, everything we had was yum, karaage was really good. The kushikatsu was nice but overpriced for what it was.
It was really hard to find took 30 minutes for us but love the setup we watched some tv and felt like we were home.

Pros: Takoyaki, Karaage, Set up with sofa and tv

Cons: Price, Hard to find

Japanese livingroom-feeling

Pretty hard to find, but good.

The greeted was unkindly with zero lust setting but the waitress has made it away again. (Super friendly)
One makes here the experience to eat in a Japanese living room which was very nice.
Unfortunately, the food didnt knock us down, was good but the cabbage was too large cut which is not necessarily great.
The karage was too crispy - hard to bite.

Pros: GF

Cons: Pricey

Great Takoyaki

As mentioned in other comments, the food is served in a private room with a couch and coffee table. I personally liked their Takoyaki. The food is a bit pricey.

Pros: Great Takoyaki , Private room , English menu

Cons: Price

GREAT food. [** to find, it’s located on level B1 **]

The food is sensational. The okonomiyaki is REALLY good - close to how I remember the fish-based version. (There’s no egg in it or waving bonito on top either 🤣)
** the restaurant is based on level B1 **
You’ll be led to a private room, with two couches/sofas, a TV, and a coffee table. These rooms are used for mum’s with small kids during the day and then at night they’re used for the restaurant. It’s quirky but cool.
*** The portion sizes are BIG. Don’t make the mistake that we did and order 4 dishes for two people, thinking that we would get four small Japanese/izakaya size dishes. They’re actually fairly western size meals. Even the Karaage chicken is a full meal in itself even though it’s 5 pieces. They’re huge!
Anyway, if you’re hungry and you want some very tasty food, this is the place to come. It’s owned and run by a chef and his wife who’s a nutritionist.
You won’t be disappointed.

Pros: Portion sizes , Tasty food, Private rooms

Pricey but worth trying

It's good to dine in a room with a TV and can charge the phone. Hopefully half portion is available.

Okay-ish, but better options are around nearby

It’s okay-ish. The kushikatsu was good, the okonomiyaki was teeny tiny but tasty, and the takoyaki were okay. It’s pretty expensive for what it is, and the place has clearly recently changed from a different cafe. Individual rooms that have seen better days, a bit scungy. Couches were very worn out, and needed a good steam clean.

Pros: Veganised Osaka specialties, Friendly staff

Cons: Expensive compared to other vegan places nearby, Worn out furnishings, feels a bit dodgy

All vegan Osaka food

It's quite unique that they serve all vegan food and you can enjoy Osaka food.

We had Okonomiyaki, Kushikatsu, and salad. They were all tasty, but the portion was so small that I left the place still feeling not full at all.
All food is a bit too expensive for the portion and it seems like they're clearly targeting tourists, I felt like this place is a tourist trap.

Pros: Taste of food , Private room

Cons: Portion size , Old couch, Price

Staff were nice but pricing feels like tourist trap

You eat in a private room that has low couches that have seen better days. The staff speak English, the menu is entirely in English, with overpriced items. The food is not bad, but portions are small for the price.
I don’t recommend eating here.

Great lil spot for vegan Osakan delicacies

Great lil spot. As the name would suggest, some of Osaka's favorite delicacies in vegan and gluten-free format.

Great to get to try some of the best Osaka has to offer in a vegan accessible version.

The takoyaki are delicious, and the vegan fried chicken was terrific.
