Pros: Sitio bonito y agradable , Servicio excelente

Great there's a new Vega!

We were so happy to see that there's a new Vega. The new location is much more calm than Vega Luna. Also, there's a terrace, which is a plus.
However, I must say that the food is not as good as expected and the tapas are a bit expensive for being such small portions.
The burrata was really good (I wish I could have such a good pesto at home) and everything else (potatoes, croquetas eggplant and cheesefake (great name, though) were not memorable.
I am sure they'll improve with time.

Pros: Terrace , Quite location, Good food, not great food

Cons: small portions, Good food, not great food

Wonderful food

We are fans of Vega (Calle Luna) and we go there as much as we can. We were happy to know that there were a new place with a different proposal. Food is as good as it is at the original Vega, but portions seems quite small for the price. It is the only reason I rate Vega Alamo with 4 stars instead of 5. Because the dishes we ordered were tasty (except the chinese aubergines, because we expected much more).

Pros: Tasty dishes, Burrata Vegana, Terrace

Cons: Small portions

Great lunch + outdoor terrace!

Writing this review mainly in response to the review just below mine with 2 stars. The reviewer has a lack of understanding of how Spanish restaurants work, so all their comments are more revalent for dining culture in Spain in general, rather than just Vega. During lunch, most restaurants do not allow ordering from their regular menu. This allows streamlines the kitchen process and allows them to serve a set lunch menu based on seasonal ingredients at a reduced cost. Actually the amount of choices on the Vega lunch menu is HUGE when compared to most lunch menus. Usually you only have 1-2 choices. Also, kombucha costs more because kombucha is still not common at all in Spain and it's pretty expensive. Whereas beer and wine are super cheap! If you don't want wine/beer, you can also order their HOMEMADE organic lemonade which we get every time and is amazing. Hope that clears things up for future diners. When dining in another country, learn the customs and don't expect it to be like your home country ;)

Overall, Vega is great. They have an outdoor terrace, one of only 2 vegan restaurants in the center of Madrid that have one. So this is a huge plus!! It's on a nice quiet street too. Keep in mind there is a 10% markup for dining outside (every restaurant does this too as terrace seating is a premium!)

You can choose a variety of tapas or salads for the lunch menu, which is a great way to try their dishes at a reduced cost. I imagine that when ordering for dinner, portions are a bit bigger. We were satisfied at the end of lunch but the portions at the other Vega are a bit better. This is more like gastronomical cuisine, a little fancier, and thus a little pricier with smaller portions.

I highly recommend the croquetas or the burrata! Though i will say that the burrata was supposed to be stuffed with pesto and it definitely wasn't. They just opened so I'm sure they're still adjusting things. Staff was super nice, and the space is huge which is a big plus over the other Vega location.

Overall, I'd probably only go for dinner for a special occasion, as it'd be pricey. It was a solid lunch and I would go back then to try some other dishes!

Lunch is policed; alcohol consumption is encouraged

The food was OK, nothing special. What I hated was that for lunch we were not allowed to order from the menu, we had to choose from the lunch special and you had no option other than to take 2 tapas sized plates, and we were really hungry. (And went to another place for more food afterwards). The service and the location were good though.
I also didn’t like that for a small glass of kombucha you had to pay 2 euros extra, whereas beer and wine were free with the lunch menu.

Awesome food

We had the three course daily menu for lunch (12€). It consisted of an starter, a salad and a main + drink. Three different salads to choose from and eight (maybe ten?) main dishes. That's a lot of choices. Food was excellent, super tasty and full of surprising delicious flavours. However the servings weren't too generous, just fair. We ordered the salads for firsts but the dishes were served a bit mixed up, so we ended up kind of sharing a set of tapas, which isn't too bad an option either. Anyway I totally recommend it and will definitely return to eat à la carte.

Pros: lots of vegan dishes, affordable daily menu, super tasty food, cool and roomy restaurant

Cons: some staff seemed a bit inexperienced

Delicious Vegan Tapas

A revelation! Blown away by the creativity and incredible flavours. My top 3 dishes: Gua Bau of heura with hoisin, chinese aubergines, croquettes and truffle risotto....everything is delicious in this restaurant. If you like cocktails Tequila Sunrise is my favourite here. Such a friendly and professional team too, can't recommend highly enough. We discovered passing through and came back again with friends two days later! The terrace outside is a plus.

Pros: Ingredients quality, Atmosphere, Nice spot in the heart of Madrid

Genial!

Pros: All vegan, Lots of options , Good price
