Don’t get the hype - Edit
I honestly don’t get the hype about Vapiano. Had to go there for a couple of business lunches and in two cases had weird experiences like the one the others described; the food itself is okay at best, sizes are rather small, prices high. I appreciate that they try to cater to vegan needs, and I also love the fresh herbs on the tables, but that’s pretty much it.

Ehh… - Edit
I don’t recommend this place. The food is bland and expensive and I have heard of people not getting vegan food when they ask for it. Better avoid.

Strange - Edit
We got the vegan Funghi de Crema and had mixed experiences. Mine came out wonderful and the chef even asked if the wine in the dish is okay or if they should leave it out. But my friend, who ordered the same thing at another chefs station had to get hers re-done because they mixed in cheese at the end. And then we had to ask for it to be done again, because it was unedible at best. Mine tasted really great and hers was rather disgusting. When it was re-done again it tasted great, just like mine. But that was not a great experience.

The elderflower-mint ice tea is wonderful though.

Got a non-vegan dish. - Edit
I don't recommend vegans to come here. I asked for the Crema Di Funghi but in a vegan version, as it is written in the menu that the dish can be made with vegan cream. When I ordered it, the cook gave me a disgusted look and said "vegan?! No, no". I showed him the menu and so he went on to prepare the dish. The first time, he put dairy cream inside. I told him that I saw that, so he frowned upon me and said he will cook a new one. The second time, he put dairy Parmesan cheese on top. When I told him it wasn't vegan, he said "but it's just a little bit of cheese!". He went on to make another one but I got tired and lost my appetite so I just went. The other staff in the restaurant didn't care at all about my situation. It's absurd that a restaurant which advertises itself as Vegan-friendly with marked vegan options serves non-vegan food when asked to be made vegan, and that the cooks and the staff have such a bad attitude towards vegan requests. Needless to say, I don't recommend.

Omg, practically almost the same happened to me. I don't recommend this place for vegans.
