Rude & arrogant owner. Would never recommend this place to anyone. - Edit
Worst place I've eaten at in Siem Reap. I'm leaving this review not to rant or whatsoever but I will not let it go when someone who think he is the boss can just treat people disrespectfully especially when it is my family. We sat and ordered our food (1 thosai, naan and chicken kheema and 3 drinks but only 2 drinks were given to us), waited for at least 10 minutes or more and asked the owner(blue shirt guy) nicely how long our food will take to be ready as we noticed the tour group who came after us was being served food before us. However he started talking to us rudely. He even asked if we read the menu properly which he said he had written waiting time is 10 minutes(we waited more than that). When we mentioned other restaurants did not have rude owners such as him, he asked " then why did you come here? You can go there." In our defence we said we wanted to try their restaurant only to get a "don't come here again. Eat and leave." Reply from him. He was literally shouting at us in the restaurant because he said he was fed up. He did not allow us to finish our sentences and always said "no you listen" whenever we tried to explain something. When i finally told him to let me finish what i had to say, he showed me his hand/palm and said "nevermind i don't want to talk to you. Eat and leave.", while walking away from our table. Throughout the argument his other older aged staff was trying to encourage him not to shout but he continued like it was a rap battle. Another kind young male staff tried to persuade my mother to eat who was already upset with how we were treated. Truly worst dining experience ever.
Read moreFood was not that good when it comes to taste wise, we only took 2 bites of it and was being watched/stared at hence we decided to leave. How is he even the owner? Give the restaurant to your better well-mannered staff to run the business.
I highly recommend Curry Walla instead. All the staff there were so welcoming and nice not to mention their tasty food too.
Would give this Vanakkam restaurant 0 stars if possible.

Best option for vegan Indian food - Edit
***UPDATE January 2023*** still the best vegan Indian in Siem Reap. They are the only restaurant offering an extensive vegan only menu so you have no worries about butter ghee and other non-vegan ingredients in your food. still loving the dosas and the thalis, also the gobi Manchurian is very good as are the onion pakoda. Make sure to ask for the homemade coconut chutney with your pakoda!

***UPDATE summer 2020*** Still the best option for vegan Indian food in Siem Reap. So many more options than anyone else and they fully understand (and deliver) vegan food every time unlike many others...
These guys now have a 100% vegan menu which we helped them to put together! No longer do you have to look through the ‘normal’ menu to find the vegan food! The owner and his son have a perfect undertstanding of veganism and have been very helpful in developing this menu. It really is the best option for vegan Indian food in Siem Reap.

Vegan Menu!!!! - Edit
Amazing to have an entire menu area dedicated to vegan options! You just tell them you want it vegan if it’s not clearly listed, and bam. So good. We got the Aloo Gobi & the Masala. And the vegan chai! So tasty. We loved everything we had!

Pros: Lots of tofu curry options, Separate vegan menu, ask for it!

Separate Vegan Menu, spicy and delicious - Edit
I ordered the Vegan sample plate. It was huge and delicious. Gobbled up the entire thing even though my mouth was on fire. The mint lime drink was spendy but refreshing and worth it. The staff was really friendly too. The Happy Cow logo was under the glass of several tables so I felt good about my choice to eat there😄

The restaurant serves South Indian and North Indian food and is centrally located in Siem Reap. There is an extensive separate vegan menu. We ate the vegan dhali and palak tofu and plain dosa. It tasted wonderful! The staff were very friendly.

Delicious vegan Indian food in Siem Reap - Edit
We sought this place out and weren't disappointed. You can't go wrong when 5 minutes after you walk into a totally empty restaurant in walks an entire bus full of Indian people. Honestly I can't remember what we ordered except that I would have eaten more if my stomach could have accepted more food - and if there had been more food on our table! I would have gone here again if I'd had more time in Siem Reap. The owner was very nice and we were served relatively quickly considering the place filled up with the aforementioned Indian tourists. Very reasonable prices. There was maybe one misprint on the menu that indicated cheese, but the entire menu was actually vegan.

Really good Indian food spot for good veggie curries, big range of dishes and prices pretty good! Ambiance could be nicer so 4 starts not 5, would probably not relax here after eating but maybe better for take away?
