My favorite grocery store for good fruit - Edit
Okay this grocery store is a VIBE! They always have imported fruit that I rarely if ever find at regular grocery’s stores.
Read moreThey have TONS of great and affordable options for so many things that I only find here. For example, they sell soy curls in a huge bag for like $3 it’s great! My fiance and I eat off one of those bags for days! They also have a ton of dried bulk items and beans that you don’t normally find elsewhere like peruano beans! They also sell dried chilies like chipotle peppers and I love to make chipotle cashew sauces and soak them with the cashews. So good!!
But let’s talk about the real reason this place shines, THE FRUIT!! I am a HUGE fan of fruit and especially tropical fruit. On numerous occasions I’ve found jackfruit, mamey, rambutan, leches, cherimoya, guava, and more! They also have other fruits as well like peaches, plums, tomatoes, tamarind, tomatillo, mangos and more. Also their veggies are insane! All so fresh and great prices! They even have fresh epazote for making beans! This place is truly a grocery gem!!
Now hot sauce!! My fiancé and I are hot sauce connoisseurs! They have an abundant selection of hot sauces that you don’t normally find in grocery stores around slo. Like nearly every flavor of el yucateco and this other brand we found called Del Molcajete that has become our new favorite!! So definitely check their hot sauce section!!
They also have a little market area where you can get fresh made augua Fresca, guac and salsa! I highly recommend the salsa molcajete verde, it’s my all time fav and I must grab a one every time I come here!
Also in their little market area, is a fresh based section. Not all things are vegan but they do sometimes have these fried flat tortillas covered in sugar and cinnamon and boy are they a treat!
Another thing, on the other side of the market, near where you enter into the produce area, they have tons of seasonings and imported Mexico items! Like shot glasses, water vases, cups, mugs, jars, tortilla baskets, tortilla presses (I forgot to mention they sell vegan dough for making your own tortillas at home it’s awesome) and more! I got my mom and sister a Mexico bingo set here once because a year or two ago we were in Mexico playing it over there and I thought it was a cool gift!
Last but not least, they have a big snack area! With imported snacked from Mexico! Many of them vegan!
Overall I give this place a 5🌟 because of what they do offer. Not all vegan but definitely worth it!!
Pros: Great fruit and produce , Soy curls & a huge hot sauce section, Great prices
